I have a shimano curado dc on it. I would recommend a low profile reel with a gear ratio of around 7.4:1. Something like that will go well with the go-to rod to make an all around great combo.
In my experience getting a rod of the same brand of the reel doesn’t have an effect. Also the curado rod only comes in 7ft medium and I prefer a 7ft medium heavy. Overall it really comes down to personal preference!! Thanks for supporting!!
I know this vid is a year old but just wanted to say well done. And keep it up brother. I do a lot of fishing from boat and kayak tournaments. And it's nice to see young angler out doing there thing andnd also being knowledgeable about the sport. Tight lines, you now have a new sub
I’ve heard good things about the curado rods as well as the St. Croix mojo bass rods. As for rods I’ve have used, the Favorite Phantom and the Googan rods are both great options. A cheaper one that I’ve tried is the Berkeley cherrywood HD rod which is good for the price but not as good as the others I mentioned. If you have any other questions make sure to ask and thanks for watching!!
I would recommend a 7ft medium heavy for bottom baits, it probably isn’t the best option if you are going to only fishing bottom baits, but for an all around rod it is the best you can go with. Maybe upgrading to a 7 ft 2 in might be better for only fishing bottom baits but it isn’t really needed. As for the Googan rod, the tip does feel similar to an abu rod I have used with a heavier tip, but the sensitivity is a bit better.
Great! Out of the other 7ft rods I’ve used it has done equal to better in terms of casting distance. The tip isn’t quite as fast as some other fast action rods but it doesn’t really affect the casting.
That reel is very nice
Great video it was the best you’re quality was crystal clear
Thanks, I really appreciate the kind words and support👍

Time will tell how it hold up, but it looks great now!!
what reel do you have on the rod or what is a reel that you think is good for it??
I have a shimano curado dc on it. I would recommend a low profile reel with a gear ratio of around 7.4:1. Something like that will go well with the go-to rod to make an all around great combo.
@@bigbite_bassin Thanks!!!

I think the fish were hiding on the sunny side of the lake😀
Lol, they definitely cold have been on that side, but that’s were all the ice was
Thanks for supporting👍
Oh and cool vid
Why didn't you get the Curado rod instead? Wont it pair up with your Curado DC?

Nice video really like that rod. Do u hunt?
Thanks!!
And no I don’t hunt but I would like to try it sometime😀
@@bigbite_bassin yeah it's very fun
I just want to know a good reel for it because I have never used a bait caster setup
For beginners, the abu Garcia black max is always a good choice!
Thanks for watching!
what pound test are you using if you don’t mind me asking? looks thick
It’s 12 pound fluorocarbon. I’m not sure why but looking back at it kinda does look thick though the camera lens.
I’m getting a shimano curado dc, I’ve been thinking about getting one of these, not sure tho. Do you have any other rods that you would recommend?

@@michaellelyo2551 thanks for the sub!
Glad I could help👍
Check out ALX rods. The Ikos series.
Your feeding fish to fish lol 😆
Been thinking about getting the 7 MH for bottom baits. Does the rod feel tip heavy like a lot of the Abu Garcia’s? And how’s the sensitivity?

How is the casting distance on this rod?
Great! Out of the other 7ft rods I’ve used it has done equal to better in terms of casting distance. The tip isn’t quite as fast as some other fast action rods but it doesn’t really affect the casting.
