This is the most progressive speech ever given at the RNC. I bet millions of people have never heard this kind of information before.
I guess people just hear whatever it is they want to hear. I heard a lot of republican values here asking corporations to pay for pensions instead of the American tax payer.

I’m a retired RN from Northwest Missouri. I worked nearly 50 years on cement floors and 13-14 hours a day. Lifting patients that weighed nearly 400-600 pounds. I was expected to give my body and life to Liberty Memorial Hospital. I tried to get a nurses union into the hospital and was told if I even spoke with them I would be fired. When an RN retires you’re lucky to get a cake and a pin to show your years of service. There is no such thing as a pension.
This is a monumental speech - Biden needs to call it quits - but then again Kamala is a nightmare as well
Oh my , I’ve just retired with a good pension - I don’t know any nurse who isn’t in a union - uk nurse here . Never sure why USA workers put up with your lives ! 35 days paid holiday - 6 months full pay 6 months half pay if sick ( not linked to holiday ) three maternity leaves of 6 months - paid .

The way I heard it, this speech was refreshingly non-partisan. He praised the GOP members that at least appeared for the cause, while not endorsing anyone. I think he is forcing whatever political hand that will give him a platform to shout from. Brilliant speech that defends the American worker. Dems would be wise to invite him to theirs and be candid what they have already accomplished to that end and what their plans are.

Conservative voting records are deeply Right-to-Work and for cutting union pensions, but people seeing O'Brien at the RNC now think he endorses Trump.

@@anobody3803 Every Democrat in Congress voted to prevent the pensions of more than 350,000 Teamsters from being cut by up to 65% by including the Butch Lewis Act in the American Rescue Plan. Every Republican voted against it. You'll see this trend in bill after bill.

Wages went up in 17, 18, and 19. The economy was roaring and delivering for everyone. So much so, that people remember having money with Trump, and that's mainly why he's leading. He was also strong on the border, because illegals suppress wages (Bernie used to say this too, when he was allowed). Trump may not have enacted legislation that specifically helped unions, but to say he didn't help the working class at all is dishonest.

Literally every State GOP platform endorses Right to Work laws, plus nationally, and wish to pass them if they aren’t already implemented. Any Union worker knows that Right to Work laws gut unions ability to function. It should really be that simple .

Do your homework because it was Dems Unions and FDR who ushered in home ownership in the 1940s. The Dems passed legislation that helped working people unions got the 8hr work day paid vacations healthcare and retirement packages for workers in the 1940s/1950s and Reagan and the GOP destroyed it. Do the research.

@@joshshultz1250Socialism. Socialism does not automatically mean "progressivism" in the way that American libs sell it. Most conservative working people would fully embrace socialism if they weren't so indoctrinated against it.
There's nothing about socialism that says our borders should be open or that everyone should share the same opinions on stuff like gay marriage or abortions or whatever culture war subject is talked about this week. These are lies that both the Democrats and Republicans have been telling the American people for far too long. All socialism wants to achieve is the triumph of labour over capital. Whether the labourers are socially progressive or conservative makes no difference.

Between the end of the Chevron Doctrine, GOP right to work states, GOP having multiple plans to end, cut or privatize Social Security and Medicare and GOP Supreme Court legalizing non compete clauses, how does voting for Trump or any Republican not do major damage to workers, unions and the right to organize or complain in general?
Some good questions here. But one thing is incorrect. Trump doesn't want to touch social security. He says it all the time. Biden tried to say that in the debate, but was fact checked by CNN afterwards.

@@diamondjones1595The problem with the way the law is now is that a person can refuse to be in a union AND he must still receive all the union benefits that union members get. Basically the law facilitates freeloaders. If it were the case that non union members have to negotiate their own salary and benefits, that would be no problem, but the way it is now, they get all the benefits that a union works for without having to pay any dues.
