NASCAR’s Craziest Race in Canada

- NASCAR racing internationally is very rare, but in the mid 2000s this was a common occurrence for the Nationwide Series. They raced in Mexico and Canada, with this video’s focus on NASCAR’s last race at Montreal. They raced on the same track in Montreal that Formula 1 does, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Jacques Villeneuve sat on the pole for the race and sought his first NASCAR Xfinity Series win. Although NASCAR is not racing here in 2022, and has not been racing in Canada for several years, most recently at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park with the Truck Series, it is fun to look back at the wildest race at Montreal. The race featured so many battles, wrecks, spins, and even a last lap pass for the win.

Shout-out to my brother for helping me out on this one. I was unable to record commentary because of my finals but he was able to get to my microphone and send the audio to me. Was the only way I would be able to get videos out this week. I will be back for the next one, thanks for watching.
This turned out amazing!!! Interesting video as always. Good luck on those finals, you got this!
I don’t get why NASCAR is so hesitant to go back to CMTP and/or CGV and/or bring the Cup Series to said track(s) in the present day.
Cup need to race there
We. Need. This. Track. BACK.
I’ll never forget watching the 2010 and 2012 Montreal races.
It’s a crime that series like IndyCar, IMSA, and NASCAR aren’t racing at Montreal.
As for NASCAR at Montreal, it’s the best circuit in Canada for them!
You are right but atleast we still have f1 racing there
@@JJTHE88FAN true. At least we can still watch a Montreal race. But man, we need more! :)
Nascar pintys on the GP3R track is insane too
@@deviljes666 it really is!
Shout out to Canada for having the ONLY Road Course photo finishes across all three series (Circuit Villnueve and Canadian Tire)
All four series in fact! I remember at least one Pinty's Series race at Trois-Rivières ending in a photo finish.
Cup Series never went to Circuit Gilles Villenueve or Canadian Tire.
@@SuperPinkFloyd79 But the Xfinity, Truck and Pinty's Series have.
@@jrlepage2a03 yes but OP said "all three series". Maybe it's just me but when I hear that phrase, only Cup, Xfinity, and Trucks come to mind. Not Pinty's or anything else.
@@SuperPinkFloyd79 You misunderstand. OP said Canada had the only road course photo finish across all series, which implies that even if you include Cup, you won't find a road course photo finish there.
I was just finishing high school when Nascar stopped racing in Montreal. I wish they would go back because the Next Gen could put on an amazing show.
They need to bring this track back
I always loved those Nationwide Impalas
I just watched this race a week or two ago out of boredom haha
Enjoying these sort of videos a lot!
One of my favorite XFINITY series races. Always enjoyed when they would race in Canada.
Nascar at Montreal just didn't miss they gotta run this back
This track in Montreal always gave us exciting racing, by far the best road course that NASCAR has ever visited.
This isn't the last race they held in Canada. Truck Series raced at Canadian Tire (Mosport) from 2013-2019.
Those Challengers were badass looking cars!!!
NASCAR need to back from Canadá.
Yea
GREAT video bro..good luck on getting to 50k
The shoe race!
well the truck series is the last NASCAR series to race in Canada. love ur videos you do a great job. here one do the last NASCAR race in Mexico next
“Something they haven’t done in 50 years” the australian Calder Park thunder dome: am I a joke to you.
Ok, not all the drivers raced there but it was still added to the calendar.
Any more pressure than the track being named after your Dad?
Gilles Villeneuve won the first Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, but not the first Canadian Grand Prix.
Good video
We need Montreal and the Milwaukee Mile back on the Xfinity schedule
they should come back to canada!!!!
Canada has their own version of NASCAR
I was there. Great race
I still can’t believe I just figured out the F1 and NASCAR raced at this track
I remember when danica had the shoe which damaged her car reminds me of the British gp 2022 when max ran over debris and got bodywork damage
🙌🏽🙌🏽
NASCAR has also raced in Suzuka whell half the track. A Oval with esses. But Canada has a series called PINTYS. (Sponsored by Pinty Wings) The cars are smaller and less powerful and run bull rings (Small ovals 1 mile or less) and road courses even streets. So you can run them on all but Intermediate and Super speedways. We are trying to run NASCAR CUP CARS on road courses but it is more of a demo derby crash fest as the drivers don't have road racing discipline as they are oval experts.
It’s known as the shoe
*The Shoe
Remember truck series been going to Canadian tire motorsport park
Talking about bad luck with Danica
Please go back to CTMP and CGV please!
I think Danica if she stayed in the Xfinity series she could've been a lot better, she definitely had talent based on this race, but she barely had anything in Cup
And it the last time a dodge car ever in Canada in NASCAR and also was the final year that dodge ever drove in nascar
Arca Brakes Speculator Crash At Montreal Quebec Canada
God I wish Dodge would come back to NASCAR
Imo I don’t like Jacque Villnueve because of how dirty he was when he did race, 2011 road America, and this race
Bru
I hope NASCAR Add Montreal since 2012 Xfinity Series and NASCAR will not return to Michigan schedule again and NASCAR Cup Series add Montreal Canada tracks replace Michigan and Xfinity Series add back to Montreal Canada Tracks Replace Michigan for next year.
Did you just spam your phone's predictive text when writing this comment?
@@jrlepage2a03 why you asking me
I wish Villeneuve would’ve won this race. That would’ve been cool
I think the fan who threw the shoe on the track wanted Jacques to win, but that should’ve been Danica’s to win. What was that fan thinking?! There was 1 Canadian, 1 Australian, and multiple Americans. Did he really think it was a good idea to go for the woman (Danica)? Danica is often blamed for her lackluster career but most of it wasn’t her fault. And back to the fan, trying to take out an American to prevent the rest from winning was a super low iq move, there were so many of them so that was pointless. Finally Danica kinda should’ve gone around the shoe or her spotter should’ve told her about it (Or maybe he did)
If they stopped wrecking I think jauque would have won
That was the best race in Canada in 2012, but I'm glad NASCAR doesn't race outside the US anymore for any of the 3 series. Still, I like road racing at its finest.
Typical French, if we can’t get a cup race we should get a prime time Sunday slot for the xfintity series. 😜🔫
Still so disappointing for me to this day. Wanted Jacques to win
nascar is .... yawn ... boring and can't handle road courses ... round and round in an oval all day ... woot ...
