    Thanks for sharing, Heath! That was a lot of work, but the end product is absolutely remarkable! When you first laid that gas tank up there, I was not onboard at all, but the under-body tucking made all the difference! Outstanding job! Enjoy! Be safe!

    Great job on the tank! Really like how you kept the belt line. Gives it a nice finish. I went with a 32 tank on my 31 Vicky project. Was fortunate to not have to cut into the belt line, just because of how the Vicky body is. Keep up the great work. Really enjoy your videos. Merry Christmas and have a happy New Year!

    Heath,
    Looks great. Sliding the tank inwards sure helped take away the bulk of it hanging out the back. Nice work on the trim up & as always a good video.
    Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you & your family.

    Think it looks great. I prefer the smooth look myself I am building a 2 door coupe out of a 4door sedan. the wood was so bad I could not afford the expensive wood kit at $8500 dollars. Love your work,
    .

      Thanks Leo, I like the coupes smooth and with the tank just wanted something a little different. Man 8500 that's crazy high for a wood kit ! Good luck with your build! and Thanks for watching and commenting take care!

    It looks nice! I was a bit skeptical too at first, but it fits fine in there. I guess it could be a bit deeper under the trunk, but i guess there isnt much room for it.

    Nice job, Heath. I appreciate your videos and you kept everything looking clean and nicely finished.
    I'm building a '28/29 Tudor and have been wondering what to do about a gas tank. I saw a video earlier this year where some guys added a '32 tank to a Model T and I started getting the idea of doing this to the Model A. Your video helps to give insight into one way to do this.
    I have some concerns and questions if you don't mind. I haven't started on this part of the build yet, so my questions may not be well thought out yet. My frame apparently is a '31, which caused me some headaches, since it is different than the previous years and caused a lot of rework when I finally realized this. Anyway, one difference is it is wider in the rear. Maybe this will help fitting a tank? Do you think adding the tank to the rear can be done without cutting the body on a Tudor. Do you think it can be done and still use the rear bumper? If I do this tank relocation I realize that I will need to extend the rear of the frame. I don't have anything to mock it up with yet, just wondering based on your experience. I didn't channel the car. Thank you.
    Merry Christmas!

    • @fullmoonhotrods
      @fullmoonhotrods  2 года назад

      Thank you ! Yes it can be done! I put a 32 tank on a 29 Model A sedan that was on a model a frame with fenders about 8 or 9 years ago without cutting the body it turned out and looked really good and looked like it came on the car. I didn't run bumpers on the car just a 32 spreader bar behind the tank. I had thought about putting 32 rear bumper brackets and a 32 rear bumper and installing a 32 front bumper on the car but never got around to the bumper install. I made filler pieces on the lower body between the gas tank and fenders to fit the contour of the tank and body. You do have to drop down the frame in the rear for the install. They also make a 32 ford gas tank and frame rail kit for the model A. But I made my own frame rails out of the front frame rails that was cut off a old model a chassis I had and then reshaped them to look like a 32 frame rail and just bought a new tank and spreader bar. I hope this answers your questions! Merry Christmas and Thanks for watching!! Take Care!

    Good looking car. I have a 30 Sport Coupe that has a steel top and frame for it instead of the wood and canvas. Anyway was wondering what 4 post lift you use and why that brand. I'm really wanting to put one in my shop. Cost is a big factor, but not the only one. It would be nice to get up off the floor/ground. I'm in my 60's now and things are such a chore, when you struggle to get back up. I look and feel like a dying cow rolling around.

    Sir, I did the same thing. Putting in a 32 gas tank in my model A. But a 32 has the rear frame rails dip Down in the rear. So I went from my rear frame rails, added a piece of C channel a-crossed the the rear of the frame and than connected the 32 rear frame rails to it. It made it look like it came that way. If fit great!!! I wish I could send you a picture of it but RUclips don’t have that capability. Also, you cut the rear inner body frame. Doesn’t that weaken the body, causing the doors to stick at times. Being you took the support out of the body.

    • @fullmoonhotrods
      @fullmoonhotrods  2 года назад

      Thanks for watching and commenting! My Model A is on a 32 frame that I built for the car. I had cut the rear frame rails off behind the coil over shocks because I was going to put a tank in the trunk of the car but I decided I wanted to put the 32 rear frame rails back on in the stock 32 position and angle and make the body fit the 32 gas tank without dropping the rear frame down. The rear subframe I had replaced and moved up higher in the car to fit the 32 frame in a much earlier video. The piece of subframe that you watched me cut off was only about a 6 inch piece that really wasn't doing anything or supporting anything on the car it was just in the way of reinstalling the 32 rear frame rails. Has far as my doors everything fits and closes very well. my car has thicker rear subframe and braces than it came from the factory with. I hope this helps. If you haven't check out some of my earlier video's of my build. Thanks for watching and Take Care!

      @@fullmoonhotrods I didn’t see that one. I guess that why I though what I thought. I’m sorry for the confusion. I have a 1930 ford 5 window coupe, with a 4 inch chop. And a 347 engine with a aod trans. Also, a 9 inch rear end. I Just got finished redoing the rear panel where the taillights go and the two reinforcement triangle pieces. Your videos have been a great help. Thank you. Ray

    Looks cool , but see if you can get the filler neck a little closer to the back of the car?

    • @fullmoonhotrods
      @fullmoonhotrods  Год назад

      I moved it 2 inches closer to the back of the car and shortened the frame rails 2" the camera made it look like it was sticking way out but it really wasn't that far out. You can see how it really looks at the end of video Preparing the top wood for install Pt.41. Thanks for watching and commenting! Take Care!

    That really turned out nice...
    I was skeptical at first, because I pictured it being real low and jutting way out...
    But removing that lower panel lip and tucking it underneath more, drastically changed the look for the better... Way to go buddy...
    Looking forward to seeing what you’ve got planned next....
