I visit LLs “Live from the Hut 2” every June to leave a comment and pay my respects and to relive my favorite of the five experimental sets Pierce and Gordon left for us. “Leaving Laurel” is how I discovered Anjunadeep and rejoined the EDM world after two decades away. That led to flying to Red Rocks for Open Air and I’m booked for my first Explorations in June of 24. Gordon, don’t give up on the live performance ideas you played around with during the pandemic. Those sessions were extra special as is the incredible production value of the second album. You and Griff have a bright future so keep the project going. This DJ set has the same kind of cerebral signature vibe as the two albums and the HUT, Living Room and Two Worlds sessions of the past. Always so breathtakingly beautiful. L

Where do i begin? I have become a bigger Leaving Laurel fan over the past year. Listening stirs and pours many emotions for me. Sadness, loneliness, grief, happiness, ecstasy, and love. Mostly Love. You said it well. And whenever I need a pick me up after feeling kicked down, it’s over to Live from the Hut 2, LL’s amazing set of deconstructed improvisation of their early music. It never fails to make me whole again. I just wish I could return the favor. I return every year around Pierce’s bday to pay my respects on the sacred virtual patch of wonderment.
