Personally, I like seeing other versions of songs. NW fans - come on... we need to enjoy people finding the music! Not just the version you like watching. I enjoy your genuine reactions!
This version gives you the best look at that final roar ... worth watching just for that! (People who don't like it can always watch the one they like, so the whiners and carpers really should spare us their whining and carping.)

Gabriel's list has the best version of each video. It's always best to go with the version on his list. There's a reason that version was included instead of another.
At the concerts where Nightwish is producing a DVD, the mixing is excellent (Wacken, Wembley, Tampere, Mexico City) but in this concert, apparently the recording came from a TV feed.

The Wembley version is the best of them if you really want to hear Floor growl. And the video quality is NOT bad. The sound quality is far better than this!

There are reasons you don't see certain performances recommended, audio mix is always the priority.
I totaly agree! But there were some razersharp videoparts closeups I didn't see before. The growling parts of Floor had some clear shots. Especially the lion-growl at the end.

The new drummer is Kai Hahto. One of his previous bands is Wintersun and I highly recommend checking them out. Time and Sons of Winter And Stars, both live rehearsal in Sonic Pump Studios.

Fun reaction guys! Wembley version is much better audio and mix overall. These random festival clips are often very muddy and unbalanced. In this version, for example, some of Tuomas' keyboards you can't even hear.

Yes, the official live versions are mostly recorded for DVD/Blu Ray. So they are produced in high end quality. Mastering and mixing is from the same guys as for LOVEBITES …

Very bad choice. And this isn't even that great video quality. The lighting on this concert is so bad, the video looks terrible.
Devil and the Deep, Dark Ocean (Buenos Aires) is a great showcase for Kai on drums as well as Floors various clean and gritty vocals. No growls though. A great music piece with an dark, theatrical feel. Cheers from Sweden!

This is from the 8th album, Endless Forms Most Beautiful , the 1st recorded with Floor. And the 1sr recorded with Kai Hahto on drums, seen here. Original drummer , Jukka Nevalainen, had to step aside from performing in 2014 due to health issues caused by severe insomnia, but remains with the band in management. Jukka called his friend , Kai from Wintersun, to take over. Jukka is more of a showman, Kai more of a technician.
This song, and to a lesser extent, Ghost River at Wacken, is all you're going to get for her growls with Nightwish. The new album, being recorded this summer, is supposed to be heavier. No word if there will be any growling on that. Yes, she did more of it with her previous band ,ReVamp. if your interested in that, try Disdain live at Graspop 2010.
For Kai with Wintersun, try Sons of Winter and Stars or Time from the live rehearsal session at Sonic Pump Studios. Wintersun also includes current Nightwish bassist, Jukka Koskinen. Marko left in 2021 for personal reasons.
Great song, really sub-par version to choose. Mexico City or Wembley versions are waaaaaay better, but glad you enjoyed it anyway!😁🤘

Just do the Wembley version, there the drums don't oversound everything and you can hear everything better!
For good recording recording quality always stick the shows Wacken / Wembley / Buenos Aires / Tampere (and also Mexiko City).
If there is a Wacken Version of a song I#d suggest Wacken. One exception is "I want my tears bak", where Buenos Aires is the one to see. For "Last Ride of the Day" I also prefer another version: The Masters of Rock rendition, but Wacken is equally good.
To experience the current drummer you are seeing here (Kai Hahto) have a watch of "Sons of Winter and Stars" by his other band "Wintersun". The Sonic Pump Studio version.

You may want to try "wildcard" by revamp (previous band if floor) live at bloodstock. It's a bit opera, a bit metal... Plus you can bet her growl clearly. With revamp she had another song where she growls much more, but I can't recall the sing title.

The Wembley version is worth it for the bass sound alone! For Kai you need Wintersun so bad, you will get there!
I love all the versions of these songs - They all have a little bit different to add. That said, there are benchmark videos for each song, and this is not it for this one. START listening to the long-time fans. We know which is the best for each song. If you want to go back to listen to other versions later, that is great, but you should have the first listen to the recommended benchmark recordings.

It always amaze me how few people actually hear that this is Floor doing the growls. Marko's voice is so distinct, and recognizable. I have never questioned the fact that it's Floor😂

I would recommend following Gabriel's list of videos. This video is fine but the audio is not good at all. Keep it simple.

Happy you choose this video. I haven't seen this concert before, and unlike many, I prefer variety over repetition.
That "other guy" on the Bass/vocals is Marko Hietala, sometimes called "The Father of Metal" in Finland. As you travel further on this journey, you will hear, and hopefully appreciate, his amazing range and vocal ability. And, yes, the long time members of the Nightwish Army do know which the best videos are for each song. Best to follow their advice. Beginner's mistake. You'll learn. Please keep on enjoying the trip.
Marko Hietala (pron: HEE-ah-Tallah) is a classically trained guitarist, bassist, songwriter and incredible vocalist both solo and in harmony! His picture is in the dictionary next to Rock Star.
THe Wembley video quality is fatastic. the whole concert was lit that way for a reason.

In terms of audio and video quality the Wembley 2015 version of song is definitely the best!
For Revamp, many people will point you to "Disdain" live at Grasspop, but if you want your mind really BLOWN go to Revamp "Mysery's no crime" live @Mezz in Breda, 2014 it is really heavy and Floor goes from Heavy Death Growls to powerfull operatic and back again.
Sacrifice better Audio for better video?. Oh well no concert the same. Great song thanks.

So you ignored the recommendations, and ignored Gabriel's list. It's your channel so 'you do you' of course.
The chatter starting at 0:49 abt "high quality standards" was truly hilarious, considering your pick. You basically repeated your beginner's 'mistake' and will do Wembley anyhow. If there's method to this madness, then well played you guys (received quite a lot of correction in the comments, but hey.. traffic is traffic, right?).

I loved both of your reactions. You missed the boat though on the correct video. The Wembley version has a far better audio mix so you can actually here Floor growling on every chorus, the chunkier guitar, the keyboards, bass, and drums all sounding way better. I'd like to see you react to the right one.

But you enjoyed it and got to hear what you were looking for, and there's nothing stopping you from checking out a better-quality version on your own time or in a comparison video.

Please do yourselves a favor and follow the Army's suggestion. Video quality is important but when reacting to a song Audio quality is much more important.

Nice picture, bad audio. As most people have said here, Wembley is much, much better sound. Best concert mixes are from Wacken (2013), Wembley (2015), Tampere (2015), Buenos Aires (2018), Mexico City (2015), and Hellfest (2022) (and of course any official Nightwish releases)

Revamp was her band before Nightwish and they released one more album when she was already with Nightwish …
The reason people say "Wembley" is because of the sound and the mix quality which is outstanding for the whole Wembley DVD. 9 times out of 10 when reactors miss that it's Floor doing the growling in the Chorus, it's because they're not listening to Wembley. This is a really good video, the visuals are good, but like you heard, the mix isn't great.

Seen so many reactions from Wembley, the video standard is just fine and the audio is far superior to this - the Nightwish Army won't lead you wrong, trust us.

The sound is much better in the Mexico or Wembley recording. You can't really hear anything here.

If you went to wembley the video isn't as good, but the music is 10 times better sounding ! Listen to the NW Army! Kai hahto has been the drummer since early 2015.
I definitely recommend following Gabriel's list. Those are the best versions. You most certainly can hear the guitars in that video. Much better sound quality. You were right, however, in saying she was supposed to be lower to push up Marko.

Re: Drummer, the original drummer had to retire because he has very bad insomnia that kept him from being able to continue touring with the band. He's still involved on the production side, though. He handpicked his own replacement, picking the magnificent Kai Hahto from Wintersun (another really awesome band, but in a different sound style/family from Nightwish).
As for picking the videos yourselves - I mean, it's your channel, do what you want to do. But generally speaking, the fan favorite/fan suggested videos are that way for a reason. They tend to be very special performances and/or have excellent sound mixes.

You might have found a lower quality version of Wembley, but the sound is much better overall at Wembley. You can hear Floor's growl well at the end of this version, but her vocals are generally a bit low in the mix. There is a Mexico version of this that is pretty good also.
Please stick to the Wacken, Wembley, Tampere and Buenos Aires shows when it comes to live Nightwish shows. They are so much better quality.
Itsfloor she can do anything she can do high she can do what she can do operatic you name it she does it. My favorite lead singer of all time
Jucca the former drummer is world class and maybe his perfrormance in Ghost Love Score didn't meet your expectations, but if you watch other live performances of him, you will soon recognize his expertise. Nightwish Army truly knows just how good Jucca was and was an indespinsable member of Nightwish. We miss him, but Kai is world class, too. Tuomas does not allow just any drummere, or bassists, etc to be part of Nightwish. "Romanticide", "Song of Myself", are two more live performances from Wacken 2013 that are worth checking out. Also, "The Greatest Show on Earth" is epic.
The Wembley Version is slightly better sonically but this version shows Floors growls better
First of all, fantastic reaction. Probably the best "Yours is an Empty Hope" reaction I have seen (and I think I have seen them all). Second, Kai, the new drummer you noticed, is fantastic, check out Wintersun, "Sons of Winter and Stars" for some music I think you would enjoy. Third, this live recording for "Yours is an Empty Hope" is great because it shows Floor up close a few times, allowing us to deduce properly that the growls are indeed coming from her, but audio mix wise there are better. So whether you react to another version or not, do yourself a favor and also check out the Wembly version or the one in Mexico I think.

Wembley has much better audio, which is more important for a reaction video imho. This one isn't mixed very well. I recommend Wembley or Mexico. That said, this will probably give you a decent idea.

If you want good audio and video quality, then you should listen to songs from the concerts from which they have made a DVD. Those are Wacken 2013, Tampere 2015, Wembley 2015 and Buenos Aires 2018. In those concert DVD they have done the recording and mixing themselves with time and effort and also brought their own cameramen, who know the songs and where to focus in which moment. Audio quality is much better in those and also the videos are much more interesting to watch.
Gentlemen...TRUST Nightwish Army to direct you to the best videos! Wembley would have given you the best audio. Implore you to pluck links from Gabriel's list...its curated for best audio and video by the fans...we've been doing this for years!...also, in Gabriel's comment...a band bio...so you know when the drummer changed and why.

The original drummer, Jukka, had to step aside during the recording of this album, so he never played this live. He did, however, recruit his friend and mentor, Kai, to be the new drummer, and he still works in the technical support for Nightwish. Buy, I have no doubt, Jukka would have smashed this song!

Yucca the original drummer had to stop playing due to health reasons, he picked kai to replace him Yucca is still with the band administration part, nightwish is the best symphonic metal band in the world, tuomas holopainen the keyboard player writes the music and is a genius, these are some of the best musicians you will ever hear, and I have seen the best through out the years what can you say about floor no one like her God bless

SO far I've mainly seen the Wembley version, ad as much as I love the visuals from this one just how they focus on the band members,...I feel the mix in Wembley is better...Although I don't know shit about anything...but you can just hear everyone better. Also the energy is different... like not sure festival vs headline tour maybe.... still the rio fans are killing it
