@Manuscript Films Hi Manuscript. Taxation is nearly non existent, other than gst - personal tax is less than 5% on 100,000 and no tax for business such as hawkers. The govt has massive investment programmes and interests in much of the big companies, so they fund from this.
The Queensland State Government is failing many residents who are unable to return home without expensive hotel quarantine. Exemptions are made for money not for compassion.
The fact about renewable energy is that solar panels last only around 25 years and the wind turbines are so expensive that they will never even pay for their worth.
It is not possible to buy a packet of Australian made household candles why are we looking towards space when a simple packet of candles come from China
@@peternixon1460 no that is not what I propose, what I am saying is that in a country of 26 million people it should be possible to purchase Australian made household candles.
@@Rosemary-bd2ul I am pretty sure if you look online, or visit your local alternative lifestyle crystal shop, you can find locally made candles, though they will likely be decorative or scented rather than a basic 'household' type. We import from China, simply because it is much cheaper for China to mass-produce these products for a global market than Australia can and the vast majority of Australians, struggling with the increased cost of living, simply won't pay a premium for the same item that can be produced significantly cheaper elsewhere. However, we can produce cleaner, greener products - such as infants milk powder, that can be sold for a significant premium. Our farms, dairies and fisheries, amongst the most efficient in the World - and increasingly, also eco-sustainable. We need to focus on our expertise, resources and expertise where we do have a competitive advantage.
Not sure Australia invests much in Space, possibly satellite technology etc, most of our science investment is still invested into the CSIRO, which still has a fantastic international reputation, despite the underfunding in recent years by the LNP. It would be fantastic to see a real alternative political party rise in Australia that worked for the national interest. Instead of these two major parties we have hear that pander to their own self interest groups.

Do you propose that Australia produces 100% of everything we consume? A tad unrealistic don't you think? A population of only 26m

cut the subsidies from the renewables, then see how quick coal becomes the chosen fuel.
You do realise they need to subsidise any new investment in coal power dont you? And BTW South Australia's battery farm has already paid for itself.
