great video would love to see how you setup a chassis though in terms of spring rates for each application, digressive vs linear piston for drifting , true rear vs shock and spring, camber, castor etc etc
I had a 320i, not a chance in drifting, with a 3.45 welded diff. Now i am going for 4.4 V8, hoping that in 30 days i will be able to go to the next event.
Awesome video and info as always! I remember when you let me bring my junk MX73 to your shop and you schooled me in bolt checking my crap. After upgrading to e46 I broke the clutch pedal twice and brake pedal once as well which was super sketchy. I hope I can make the trip back down from Canada to drive with you again soon!
oh and a trick ive found for bmw axles that makes them much less of a pain is Torx spanners, to get them loose or tight and a small 12 point ratchet spanner will do the in between, takes half the time as they are awkward bastard with a ratchet i find

So useful thanks so much for all e36 videos this will help when I start drifting mine to keep her alive for longer. The videos are great and I hope all is well man!
Watching this was cool! Gonna speed up my process for sure I always used a torque wrench when doing bolt checks but makes sense to not use one unless the bolt/nut is loose.
Thanks appreciate the video, i should've watched this video straight when you uploaded... Yesterday my front diff bolt snapped in half, going to be a fun job tomorrow -.-
maybe all this "snug not super tight" is your problem. my mate has the same weird issue, i have to bolt check his work, he would rather leave stuff loose than strip it, if it strips it was weak and needing addressing anyway! i may have way less drifting hours than you but i worked as a mechanic for about 5 years and my drift car has been to many events and been daily driven for years and ive never had any bolt come loose that i can remember, i tighten the shit out of everything and torque important stuff to spec, its either tight or not and just snug doesn't sound tight. great video tho and very informative as always, love your content
Hi chelsea! Thanks for the great video. I have a low Engagement point on the clutch of my e46 330. the pedal has side play and the car won‘t go into gear sometimes. Do you think brass bushings also fix the low Engagement point? Thanks
Is it just the inner that you use? And aswell as thickness is there any other reason you use them for example are they any longer? In the UK we use the E36 inner and E46 outer for extra length or if you have even longer arms we will use E90 in inner Thanks in advance
i tried that on my the bottom of mine but the rivets always pulled through. ended up buying another used pedal. you mount the hinge in front or behind it?
aayyoo Aah that’s annoying I have some big face diameter aircraft rivets and I didn’t compress them fully so as not to split the plastic. (Cut off the spike with a grinder) It was a few years ago now but I seem to remember I flattened the back of the pedal with said grinder to fit the hinge and with the flat face of the rivets facing towards the driver. I can’t exactly remember how I attached the hinge to the lever but probably zip ties...

I second that :)
3rd we want the special sauce for our cars!
Same! Would love a complete setup overview for like a stock 325i

When will we see the FD E46 brought back to life?

Getting ready for my first track day in a few days, thought a good nut and bolt check would be a good idea.

You looking for the info too I see haha
Some good knowledge in here. Can tell you have been at this a long time, respect.
Awsome! Now i know why my clutch pedal feels so wrong.
P.S. only one event in, begginerg.
You're such a good guy. Bless you for all those usefull and critical info!
Pennzoil has oil carts for that box oils on your shelf. It holds 2 boxes has dispenser just add shop air
I have a E36 and really appreciate that tips bro, thanks
Gut check makes for a nut check saves a butt check
Great video man. Cant wait to see you drive again in Seattle
Thanks bro! Glad you're back on here making vids
That is such a great engine, I have on in my e30. Bullet proof!!
This video should be titled “watch this video before you ever drift your e36/46” would have saved me a lot of time last season
So useful thanks so much for all e36 videos this will help when I start drifting mine to keep her alive for longer. The videos are great and I hope all is well man!
Love the videos! I just bought a super cheap E36 M3, I officially have the bug.

Can you a do a video, on how to build a budget e36 drift car
MARK YOUR BOLTS WITH A CORRECTIONER, easier to spot a lose bolt :)
Along with loctite.
Rust makes good loctite, lucky for me I live where things rust fast!
rear subframe ripping out should only be a problem pre 1995 3.0 m3 and 325i
I3igTasty and 98% of e46s lol
Nut Check
I'm going to start saying 'snuuuug' when I nut and bolt my car now haha
Miss Pat's. Last time I went I drove only a handful of laps and my clutch slave blew up :c
great, you could do a video explaining best upgrades for drift them
i notice you're still using the stock front sway bar end links and not the BC ones. any insight?
Lol. Travis tapped you in the 4 car tandem and knocked your bumper trim off
"BMW E-Chassis" - Hert
Did he really say this? When and where?
@@joshc9846 yes many times... On the Hoonigan quaranstream. He thinks we all assume he means the "3 series"
some great tips in here!
Sweet boom box!
i appreciate these videos so much. its the little things that people dont always share

Do the same for E46! :D
e36 for the win
Cool video and information in it, thnks) Tell me please? what engine oil do you prefer in your m50?
10-60 pennzoil
How could I get more angle out of an e39 528i, I've noticed there's a lack of aftermarket support in the angle depmt?
Chelsea Denofa is like if bimmerforums.com was a person.
Anyone knows if he runs a welded diff? I am amazed at how basic the setup is.
What track was that in the beginning of the video?
Chelsea is using wrenches and rachets, while all of us are gonna use UGGA UGGAS!
Don’t do that!
Nice
What's up with the motor mount???
Does the SLR kit require rolling the fenders or anything?
what year X5 tie rods fit ? E53 I assume ?
What brand are the headers ?
Would it be a bad idea to blue lock tight everything?
What model year x5 inner tie rods are you using?
E53

10:27 how do you spell that?
Guibo
@@chelseadenofa oh wow I didn't expect for you to reply , thank you!
Nice hot air intake 🔥
What’s the point of running just water instead of coolant?
No tracks allow coolant.
@@chelseadenofa ya. I feel dumb now
N/A and no M50 intake mani ??
Will most of these steps work on an e46 as well?
Ye
Basically any car really
screw the race car go play with that doggo
7 events later no bolt checks and were good lol
Luckiest man alive. Or your suspension is all stock lol
@@chelseadenofa bolt on gk tech angle kit 😂 and welded diff
What wheel size do you run on the E36 front and rear
17x8 ET -5 front and 17x8 ET 15 rear
@@chelseadenofa thanks man I appreciate it
@@chelseadenofa one more question what is your tire size?
@@leehill2149 if I had to bet, I would say 245/40R17. Taylor Ray has a great episode about this.
"Guibo" is not pronounced "JEWBO" or "GWEEBO" its "Geebo" according to google.
Crescent wrench is no bueno
The top of my e46 accelerator pedal is a hinge riveted in it works great 😂👌🏻 (its pre drive by wire 99’)
i tried that on my the bottom of mine but the rivets always pulled through. ended up buying another used pedal. you mount the hinge in front or behind it?

I couldn’t find a replacement pedal on eBay that’s why I bothered and then never bothered to get another one cause it works how it is lol
seeing as 99% call it guibo and not juibo is pronounced guibo, maybe originally it wasnt but now it is xD
