The eufy homebase alarm doesn’t get nearly loud enough and there isn’t an option to add additional sirens. All it does is alert an intruder where your homebase is and then they can easily unplug and take down your system. And if they take your home-base you also lose all video footage..unless your paying extra for cloud video storage.
While aspects of the security system could be improved, like a separate, louder siren as has been mentioned, this system is very competent. The built of the various parts feels premium and very well made. I've been using it for a month now and I've been happy with it. The motion sensors have a great reach, up to 11 meters! The notifications are pretty much instantaneous. If you have Eufy cameras that work with the homebase like de Cam2 or the Cam 2c you can combine their alarms to make all devices sound at the same time in an automation. That would definitely sound, at least, a bit louder. Come on Eufy! Bring the siren on!
Actually I’m so surprise that you don’t have as many followers as everyone else because you’re an amazing person keep doing it I think sometimes it takes time LOL
Top review Gabe, thank you. Having lived with the system for a few months now are you able to tell me (a) if the solution can support more than one HomeBase so that the alarm sounders can be heard in different parts of a larger property, effectively daisy chaining them? (b) can the solution support more than one keypad, for example one in the bedroom for night time arming, one in the garage for disarming upon arrival, etc, etc and lastly (c) can the window/door contacts be screwed into place instead of using the 3M adhesive pads? Thanks
I missed the part about possibly expanding this system. More window monitors or another door watcher. Whats the basic unit cost & how many of each do you get?
Do you think there is a way to have a setting for one person being home and not setting off alarms for motion but allowing for window or door opening to be alarmed...like a Working From Home mode?
Yes, you can set up to three custom modes with different behaviors. I have one for night time that only arms the main entrance sensor after we’ve locked up but not the motion sensors inside the house or the back door, in case we want to let the dog out. I have another mode to send me push notifications when I’m out of the house but there’s still people inside, so no alarms
The motion detectors are supposed to NOT detect small pets. Maybe they consider the vacuum in that category. Also you can create a schedule and maybe stop detecting motion during the time the vacuum is supposed to be around, and resume detecting once the vacuum is done cleaning
Not sure about the notification if there is a power outage, but according to several customer reviews, it does send a notification when when power is restored. Hope that helps.
I wish the alarm for the home base was louder. Even at max, its hard to hear at different levels of the house and definitely cant hear it from outside.
i agree , i am very disapointed with that home base, my boy toys are louder than that.. very cheap piece of thec. on the other side sensors are excellent and key pad is descent.
Great video. Thanks. At the start of the video, you said that it was pretty loud. The feedback I got from some people is that the volume was ridiculously low. Do you confirm? Is it sufficiently powerful to be heard by neighbors for instance? Thanks.
Volume is pretty low and it's inside your house. Some of there camera's have alarm function that can be triggered if the Homebase goes off. But again, they are not very loud. Eufy needs to develop a loud outdoor speaker.
As alert eufy is a soft system a burglar is not scared of! Burglar can switch the alarm off simply by unplug the homebase power plug. The homebase give a little beep so the burglar know were to find it to switch power off. If the Eufy system manage to give an alert sound this sound is inhouse and this sound (beep) is very low. So no one will hear the alarm sound outside the house! 😳 If you also got the Eufy cameras these give also a very low (soft) beep sound and also only for the time this camer see a person (movement). The mostly give an alert sound only for 5 seconds! More Eufy cameras can not sound the alert together by any alert trigger in the Eufy system and the homebase can not set also the alert sound of the cameras when an alert is triggert. Linking all cameras and homebase(s) so that they sound an alarm together is easy to program and is a missed opportunity from makers the Eufy system. These videos here are paid commercials to promote the Eufy products. You do not need the Eufy alert keyboard because you can also set all these functions (Away/Home/...) through or in your Eufy app on your phone or tablet 😲 If the power is cut by a burglar the Eufy homebase will not work any more. So no alert is given by your Eufy alarm system and because 230V power is off your wifi will not send you any Eufy alert notifications! Alll in all not a good system for scaring away burglars. An external loud alarm / siren device is missing from the Eufy program and present alert possibilities are not flexible or loud enough to scare burglars.
I get it I did research 4or4 Sorry still not understanding I bet you’re smart you’ll do research love you and I think you’re worth your weight in platinum I wish I could help I’m not computer savvy but if people watched you you’re the best hi 105,000,000% support you
In fact you’re worth your weight in gold I’ll try to spread you... I just don’t understand how you don’t get so many people I don’t know what’s wrong oh LOL people are following entertainment and scammers but trust me your worth your weight in platinum worth more than gold and thank you for putting it out there of how to secure our places we love you LOL
it needs an external siren to make this a security system. Otherwise you just watch someone break into your house. These smart systems are pointless without sirens.
Totally agree. My idea was to use a 12volt siren on a wemo or other smart plug and IFTTT. Homebase alarm is sounded plug turns on, outside siren is activated. However it seems that the gang over at IFTTT have never heard of Eufy.
@@timmsmith5291 I went for the Yale AC full smart home system in the end. Has everything you could ask for to be honest, I haven't installed it yet but the options are great and I have 2 live sirens for each side of the house. Panic buttons, sec key pads ect. Also has smoke alarms and flood protection sensors
@@rafdannyboy Sounds good. I found a work around using Eufy camera (inside of house), Alexa (on my phone) and a WEMO smart plug. Eufy camera set to only push notifications when in away mode, Alexa routine, when camera detects motion (control group, power on) it turns on Wemo plug/ Outdoor Siren (which is in it's own group in Alexa app) and Alexa is set to not run routine again for 10mins, and Wemo rule , if plug is turned on, turn it off in 5 mins. A bit crude but it works. You can also set Alexa routines for Entry sensor's but not the Motion sensor's.
@@timmsmith5291 great work around that. It seems daft they haven't just used an aftermarket siren and changed the spec for them. I have the eufy cameras and they're great.
This was an amazing video. Just what I needed. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
So awesome to finally have a good 😌 solid review
Thanks for watching!
Brilliant review. Cheers 🍻

Eufy has added 2 levels of pro monitoring. Their premium is 99$ for a year
That’s not bad
If you don't need monitoring, would you buy this system over the Simplisafe system?
Can the keypad be used to set the status of cameras?
I wish the security alarm pad could be hard wired. I hate that you have to keep charging it 😫 Great video btw. Love from Australia 🇦🇺

You can use more than one home base in a home and if you do that, then they can probably do the rest.yes you can screw them in, don't have to use 3M
Gabe, It hit home, I got your presentation about eufy security alarm system. Thanks
Glad I could help!
I missed the part about possibly expanding this system. More window monitors or another door watcher.
Whats the basic unit cost & how many of each do you get?
Pricing changes from state to state. Your best bet is checking the manufacturers website.
Do you think there is a way to have a setting for one person being home and not setting off alarms for motion but allowing for window or door opening to be alarmed...like a Working From Home mode?
Home Mode will have entry sensor's on, motion off. But you can create a custom mode if you want a motion detector active.

is there a way to make the alarm not trigger when on and the robot vacuum is running around?

Good to see a fellow Tennesseean on RUclips
Thanks!
Will the doorbell and outside cameras from them work with that system?
Yes
Hi Gabe! Great review by the way. I have a question. Do you know if the eufy system sends you a notification if there is a power outage?
Not sure about the notification if there is a power outage, but according to several customer reviews, it does send a notification when when power is restored. Hope that helps.
That’s a great question, I was wondering the same thing. Also if it would reconnect automatically without having to reset manually.
The APP confirms -HomeBase- offline

Have you used the Eufy solar camera?
We haven't reviewed it, but here is a link with 573 consumer reviews amzn.to/3qMviON
Eufy does offer monitoring now one plan is $99 a year and the other is $49 I believe
Thanks for the input!

Does the key pad beep when you enter the house to alert you to put your code in?
Yes. Keypad and Homebase Beep if the system is armed and disarmed from keypad.
Your link to buy the alarm kit is not working. 404.
Thanks for the tip, we'll get that fixed. Here is the link to our review: www.security.org/home-security-systems/eufy/
I would like to see a comparison between Simplisafe and Eufy systems.
We'll add it to our list,
Does the system work with Apple HomeKit?
Yes
How many decibels has it?
100dB
Great review, can I ask how loud the siren is when set to max volume? Thanks!
It is pretty load my brother has won its amost 500DB
@@careylicious9788 I'd disagree. The alarm isnt at all loud. In-fact once you move upstairs *or away from the base, youd have a job to hear it at all
I think it states 100db in the literature
Lots of windows and doors in a house. How much is each window and motion sensor and how much to outfit a house? Kind of useless with one window sensor
Prices change from state to state. We recommend you check out the manufacturers website.
