I'm sorry to see whatever you gone through cause you to fill hurt or pain. Forgive me for this assumption but it sounded like you had a bad experience with Love. Though movies, cartoons they will exaggerate and over romanticize things, deep down every human being is longing to be loved. We are all created to love and love one another. Whether that is romantically, platonic, family etc. Love is not an illusion. True love goes deeper than just emotional attachment or attraction. It's self-sacrificial. It's long suffering. It's being kind to those even when it doesn't seem like they deserve it. It's not self-seeking, but it seeks the best for the other party (whether romantically or friendship or family). Love on the outside may appear weak, but it is actually quite strong. For example, forgiving the person whom you love who may have hurt you(because we are all imperfect human beings), is not a very easy thing to do. But it takes great inner strength to do that. If we let go of love, that's where corruption will come in. That's where our heart turns hard out of self-protection. But I want to encourage you, you are loved, whether you feel it or not. True love goes being just emotional feelings. It's a daily choice. This anime may have some exaggeration, but it displays quite a beautiful picture of Love. The main protagonist , Sawako who has been misunderstood all her life, been rejected, shunned by others was still able to walk in integrity, was still able to be kind to those around her, even those who were 'scared' of her or rejected her. She was still choosing to believe the good in others. The only thing is, she doesn't see her self-worth. So she believes in what the rumors been put on her. While this charismatic guy in her class, he sees the true character of who she is, who is able to see past all the rumors and see the truth in who she is. He uses that to break off the "wrong cultural influences/labels" that the class have been putting on her all her life. She begins to see the truth and reality as these lies are breaking off of her. Though it is cartoon, there are some facts to these that goes deeper than just the emotional realm, and I pray that you will come to know the reality of love and healing come forth to you~ you are truly loved~ :)

In this universe, everything must be objective; love is an undefinable variable that should arise from human interaction; "love" is the variable that creates absurdity between human interactions. Albert Camus said so in The Myth of Sisyphus, the Fall, and etc., in which he emphasizes that all objects in the universe are not absurd, but what creates absurdity is the interaction between the objects. Also, I have become pessimistic and nihilistic because I used to be an idealistic, optimistic, and stoic person. And YES, i hate love, really really despise romance and love
