    I love homey dashboard and hopefully they can add more accessories to Homey. Sometimes it’s frustrating if they don’t have accessories we need. Bravo Brian! Good video!

    This is fantastic. Can you change the look for the dashbords? or are there a set look and you have to stick to that..

    • @AutomateYourLife
      @AutomateYourLife  3 дня назад +1

      Depends what you mean Finn! You can organize the boards any way you want. You can use different widgets to display things...but there are no "themes".
      So it's partially custom!

      @@AutomateYourLife themes might be more the right word yes. Not surprised since that's probably more niche use. Thanks for taking the time to answer Brian :)

    Great video brother! I just wish you had shared some of the brands/devices you're using e.g. your fridge (the amount of control you got from homey pro was pretty SICK dude), oven, mesh wifi system, blinds etc so that we can also shop around for a similar experience

    • @AutomateYourLife

      Good news! I'll share some details here 😀
      My wifi is TP Link's deco be63 - I reviewed it here! ruclips.net/video/ZnYNi70bKDk/видео.html
      My fridge is an LG, and that has wild controls on it. We have a home tour you can see that's from when we moved in here. Just search for home tour on the RUclips channel page.
      The oven and the microwave actually aren't that good of control, but I can see lots of statuses on those. Those are Samsung appliances and unfortunately I haven't figured out how to get full control of them just yet. There's something I'm doing wrong or something that Samsung is not allowing so I would generally avoid those appliances with them unless you're just looking for statuses.

      Oh, and the blinds are Lutron Serena. It's part of the Caseta system

    Hello Brian great video. Can the homey hub replace all your others app like the philips hue hub? Whick fridge or freezer do you have that allows you to control the temperature? And do you know a speaker that is rechargable and has the google assistant built in? Thank you

    • @AutomateYourLife
      @AutomateYourLife  16 часов назад

      I think I'd still keep a hue hub, but physically I believe you can replace it if you want.
      It has all the radios necessary to replace most hubs. Zigbee, Z-Wave, Thread, Bluetooth, Wifi, and an Ethernet port. And many products are compatible.
      I made a full guide on the hub though so you can watch that!
      My fridge is an LG one 😀
      And the Google assistant...well, I don't think there is a speaker anymore. Watches, phones, but not battery powered speakers. Not that I've seen anyways

    Does it require the Cloud for it to run properly? I am not a Cloud person as you can probably figure out. Great Video!

    • @AutomateYourLife
      @AutomateYourLife  День назад

      Homey is in general local, but the app has sometimes shown that it can't access my hub when the internet is down. I haven't totally figured it out myself, but I believe these are supposed to work without internet access. :)
      However, some things that are cloud connected obviously will require that. Like my Ring doorbell I showed. That one won't show otherwise!

    Homey vs Home Assistant?

    • @DBartel2000
      @DBartel2000 День назад

      If you prefer, you can use both. Many people in the Danish community has installedll the devices Homey dont like, in HA. Then vi have connected HA to Homey, and then we can control all the HA devices, from ouy HP23 👍
      To us in EU the Homey is not new. I have had them since 2019, and enjoyed it every day . The new thing, as of today (officially), we can also use native dashboards.

    No doubt impressive, but the cost of the Hub and changing everything over to make things compatible with this hub is NOT cost effective for me. This is just a simple fact! As a smart home user forever, MANY of my devices will NOT work with this setup and would require a significant cost to replace all my devices that work perfectly well today to work without this hub. My first question is WHY would I want to do this at the HUGE cost and really don't gain anything significant that I can't already do? Don't get me WRONG, as if your are starting a smart home today vs. YEARS ago I get this but, for me, I have SO many devices that still work perfectly well and we all know the old saying "If it ain't broke, WHY fix it?" For me, I just can't justify replacing ALL my devices to work with this hub at the HUGE cost when everything I have works like a swiss-watch to begin with? I'm just that "other" side of the coin user and opinion here. Great content! But, you have to take into account us users from a decade ago, and things just WORK today. And will continue to work tomorrow as well.

      Hey John, I get that most people who watch are not gonna do this. That's ok. It's not my goal to force anything on ya. I'm just showing what I found and I let you folks make your decisions!
      And maybe there will be better options for ya in the future!

      @@AutomateYourLife You are good! If I was starting "new" this is a great option! It's impressive, as I stated, but just NOT cost-effective for me as an "old" user. No worries!
