Can you do a video on self advocacy for new slps? What sort of resources should I be looking at to ensure I'm in a good working place after I graduate?

I have a question, I’m thinking about getting my masters in SLP, however I don’t have a SLP background; I know that you dont have to have a bachelors in SLP to get a masters, however I may have to take some classes to prepare myself for grad school. My question is, how difficult was the grad program and is the licensure test really hard?

Grad school is hard! I won’t sugar coat it, but it is a lot of fun because it’s where you really become immersed in the field and you actually have the opportunity to start treating clients with guidance from your supervisors

The Praxis can be somewhat difficult if you don’t study efficiently. Good prep and studying helped me to pass on the first try. It also helps that it is multiple choice.

I'm in the same boat. I just did one year of Post-baccalaureate classes to obtain those pre-reqs I did not get during undergrad. Now I am officially in my master's program. The good thing is that it is flexible. If i need to cut back from an overwhelming course load, I can do that. I am also a mom to a 5-month-old, so I may need to rearrange my curriculum in order to succeed. I am at Eastern Michigan University.
