chigurh had been to the crime scene but had already left. Bell’s fear is getting to him and he imagines chigurh being there but is relieved to see he isn’t, theres a shot of a locked window to show that chigurh couldn’t have escaped if he was there, which he wasn’t
Carter burwell did the soundtrack, the kind of the resident coen brothers music guy.. it's really good it's super subtle though.. I remember noticing it the most, or actually for the first time the second time I had watched it... When he's running from the guys with the dogs and whatnot in the night.. as he's crossing the river I just remembered the the music had reached like a a recognizable volume it had been ramping the entire time and it just sent me.
35:40 equating milk with psychopathy is probably something you carry over from A Clockwork Orange, which on that note, I'd love to see yall do a video on that movie
Speaking of Cronenberg or maybe rather misspeaking of Cronenberg in this case, you should do The Fly at some point. It hit me while watching Rick & Morty when they talk about "Cronenberg world" that many younger viewers probably don't even get that reference. It has a lot in common with The Thing, but is nowhere near as well known today, despite being more successful, both financially and critically when it was released.
Just found Carpool Critics yesterday. Already seen/heard about 10 episodes. Enjoying every episode so much. Keep them coming guys! You touch on great topics going off on great tangents
49:07 I think largely, we are just more aware of the violence in the world today than in the past. Terrorism is an old old tactic, and if you study the history of revolutions and the build up to them. The amount of death is insane. Scores of people dying all the time. Probably the difference compared to 18th, 19th and early 20th century violence to today is that in the past it was largely the people vs the state or the state vs the people. Whereas now its stateless organizations attacking the general population. It's political violence dealt against just the people, instead of political players.
Llewelyn wasn't methodical, if he was no way he wouldn't find and get rid of that tracking device. Of course, without that tracking device we don't have a movie.
A solid discussion about one of my favorite movies ever. Well done gentlemen, please I want to hear your takes on the movie "Goodtime" by the Safdie brothers. Yes "Zodiac" and "There will be blood" need to be covered by you three.
I had to go back and re-watch the movie before I listened to the critique and I'm so glad I did. Honestly, didn't notice there was no music until you guys mentioned it; its absence just fit so well with the narrative.
I definitely like the removal of the plexiglass partitions. The audio was perfect even with masks on. Keep this format if you can. Also, your talk on this movie FORCED me to watch it halfway through your discussion.
Love all these podcasts!! I always make sure I've watched the movies being reviewed so I don't get any spoilers but in a few of your episodes you reference other movies in discussions and inadvertently spoil them! Just watch out guys! Keep them coming!
Hard to pick between No country and The big lebowski for my favourite movie off all time, both amazing for very different reasons. I think no country is also underrated for its humour, almost a black comedy in some respects
FYI , I got a very weird "get rich instantly" ad before the video. I usually don't skip the ads here cause it's 60+ minutes of content for 1m of ads , I can deal with that. What I can't deal with is cheepo ads advertising nothing anyone would like to associate with. Please youtube!
Many people think that Anthony Hopkins' Hannibal Lecter is a great portrayal of a psychopath. But a psychiatrist would probably rather say that Javier Bardem's portrayal of the psychopath Anton Chigurh is way more accurate. A total lack of empathy for others for instance. P.S. If you don't know what to watch, watch *Sicario* (2015) next.
I haven't listen to this episode yet. But I just wanted it say I love your podcast. I don't listen to them in any order but I just listened to your star wars episode and it was like therapy for me and I feel much better after listening. I'm from the UK not that that's relevant in anyway just a fun fact. I recommend you to every film fan I know but could you do a favour and do an episode on one of the greatest action movies ever "The predator" (or True lies - the best action film of all time to never get a sequel) or even better because I'm British please talk about any film from the Cornetto Trilogy instead. Thanks have a great day. x
The lesson here is if you find a bag of money, don't be an idiot put it in another bag while checking for trackers. Unless you live in Starling city where they have trackable strips in the notes!
I think he kills the suited men because they were investigating a crime scene he’s involved in or investigating himself. They give him the info he needs and then he gets rid of competition/roadblocks.
Should get linus to hype the show and make an appearance on a popular movie. Would push subs up. I dont want u guys to leave cause not enough views lol. Better yet Anthony!!
If you like No Country For Old Men, The Departed made before NCFOM was good might speak more to an East Coaster and Hell Or High Water was just as good as the other two. Like all three but do not watch them back to back!
I think I agree with Riley being hesitant to have movies like this around small children. I was watching babies documentary and I found it pretty suprising how early on babies can read emotions and distress, I could be wrong though.
@@Rickbearcat Yeah, you see, that's the problem. Most people are not educated enough about raising a child, and then you end up with people that might have personally done nothing wrong, but are completely fucked up because of their bringing up.
commenting for when i watch later, but i would highly recommend this video talking about and breaking down the film: ruclips.net/video/xKyp9rGzZ20/видео.html
Im all for the no plexy glass. The Masks are Okay hardly notice a sound difference. With this camera setup and straight on angle your sponsors would have fitted perfectly at the bottom of the video here without much problem why not fill that bottom area up with their banners when talking about them???? LTT waterbottles dent at the top also LTT waterbottle the perfect place for David to hide real drinks behind no free advertising here!!!! LOL :-) Rileys Power Cord Obsession.Figet Fidget Fidget LOL :-) James Quote "its basically Fargo in the summer." LOL :-) Bad-assery. :-) Did you see a wild LINUS???? or a wild ANTHONY in the background???LOL :-)
I think killing off story C was the Directors/writers way of saying other movies 'work to hard' to keep the audience engaged.. and it's not needed. They sacrificed it for the betterment of the other characters. Aka, quality over quantity. ;O)-
I want an episode with no particular movie, and these three just go off on every tangent for a couple hours.
Id prefer the plexiglass if it's either or, but honestly great audio for having masks on
I couldnt tell until i looked at the video
NO Flexiglass, Bad reflections.
Stay safe, then entertain. In that order please
Honestly, they're basically just a pop filter. I've actually started using masks for that purpose when recording scratch VO or sfx.
there are no gazelles in north america, that was an antelope, also known as a pronghorn or prarie goat

PLEASE review Sicario! That move is what really got me into cinematography and the suspense/thriller/drama (I guess) niche. Such a good movie!!
Just noticed that you have 69K subscribers, NICE!

Brilliant choice of movie, really enjoyed this. Would love a Scorcese next, hopefully Goodfellas.
Will you do The Fifth Element?
Best sci fi fantasy film outside of the Empire Strikes Back/A New Hope
Old wisdom is something old culture is built on.. not that everyone gets it. Some people just don't know how to cook using good recipes. ;O)-
Fantastic! Best review of the film I’ve seen.
Hey guys, your production gear link in the description is dead. Was wondering about the mics you were using

Ya'll should review the first Red Dead Redemption like it was a movie. Very similar themes.
Still waiting for you to cover Zodiac and There Will be Blood! Will you guys do it soon?!? Also Assassination if Jesse James 2007 also underrated
A solid discussion about one of my favorite movies ever. Well done gentlemen, please I want to hear your takes on the movie "Goodtime" by the Safdie brothers.

I had to rewind when I saw Moss die to make sure that really happened 😂
I definitely like the removal of the plexiglass partitions. The audio was perfect even with masks on. Keep this format if you can. Also, your talk on this movie FORCED me to watch it halfway through your discussion.

Wait, what is David's ultimate neo-Western?!
I keep checking back to see if this has been answered
He says taxi driver.. just asked!
Hard to pick between No country and The big lebowski for my favourite movie off all time, both amazing for very different reasons. I think no country is also underrated for its humour, almost a black comedy in some respects
My favorite Coen Brother's movies are this one and Fargo.

Great book, good film, to properly understand the ending you should watch the road.
My take on the milk and hair style is that Anton chigurh is a big Kubrick’s fan, and is going through Clockwork Orange phase.
41:27 James literally quoting my 8th grade teacher
I think he kills the suited men because they were investigating a crime scene he’s involved in or investigating himself. They give him the info he needs and then he gets rid of competition/roadblocks.
Are the podcasts no longer posted on the libsyn site? I like using those while in the car to use less data. Not really mad just curious.
as someone from Texas, yes we are superior and no that was not a Texas accent, that was southern Kentucky.
Come on guys! the reflection was 'ships passing in the night.' Watch it again!
There's no music in the whole movie btw. Putting an end to that discussion.
David, what is that lid? I want it!
Also, y’all should do Cabin in the Woods.
I miss this kind of movie.
Edit: There's music in this film but very faint. You may need to wear a headphone
I miss the carpoolpia code. I still mouth it out when James does the sponsor reads
I see Chigurh less an agent of 'chaos' and more an agent of 'inevitabilty'. Plays more to the nihilistic themes of this movie.
Should get linus to hype the show and make an appearance on a popular movie. Would push subs up. I dont want u guys to leave cause not enough views lol. Better yet Anthony!!
Duh forgot u did that already! Make him hype it on wan show or something haha
Guys do 'Nocturnal Animals'- with Sarah
David with a mask just looks like Jake
Do Children Of Men.
Wanna hear what you think about the long take in the car.
Also, Michael Caine is in it, Riley.
Dark Knight next!
k fine

This movie is hard on people, you can't stop what's coming, it ain't all waiting on you. That's vanity.
Do "The Host" next week. ;O)-
Hi hosts! I'm from podcastland and youtube.
dual citizenship, wow
If you like No Country For Old Men, The Departed made before NCFOM was good might speak more to an East Coaster and Hell Or High Water was just as good as the other two. Like all three but do not watch them back to back!
No one talks about the cinematography
I think I agree with Riley being hesitant to have movies like this around small children. I was watching babies documentary and I found it pretty suprising how early on babies can read emotions and distress, I could be wrong though.
❤️
Be careful, guys!
I'm in Nanaimo so I'm keeping up with it very closely and like...
Shit... All of you from all the channels stay healthy!
🎩👌
This movie kept changing my mind.
I was good with that.
Do A Serious Man next
"It's one of those words you don't say every...." interrupts " Yeah it's nihilism, I say it everyday". Lmfao.
Here we go
Louis Rossmann made a great about raising children, it's called "Don't scream around children". Seems like James should watch it.
Each parent raises their children in their own way.
@@Rickbearcat Yeah, you see, that's the problem. Most people are not educated enough about raising a child, and then you end up with people that might have personally done nothing wrong, but are completely fucked up because of their bringing up.
Finally! I have been waiting for this
"There will be blood" is a great movie to dissect. So many ways the story paths can be construed. ;O)-
They have to have an episode of Jordan Peterson's lectures
Do a goodfellas episode
thats fair
No Country of Old Men is my favourite movie
a comment to support the channel
Happy 69k subsss!

Hi
Do “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford”
This movie is 8/10 for a Coen Brothers film its a 4/10
Wtf no way its the best coen brothers film
Much better without that BS Plexi barrier that was so distracting. Mask's are a good idea as well.
Give me more!! Not only reviews!!!
69 DUDE!! 🤙👌
Hehe
The milk carton represented his freedom of rules and singular existance in a soft manner. Loved it. ;O)-
Unfortunately, it was not a milk carton.
Heard you wearing masks. Stopped watching
The masks are so stupid
