Hey, I'm not sure if this will get seen, but it seems like there is a bit of a miss understanding about how MF works. It is not really common knowledge, but most of the blue items dropping actually rolled as set pieces, but if there isn't a set item for that base it becomes a blue. For example, facing baal with 1700 MF, any given item has a 1/300 chance of being blue, and a 42% chance of being set. If you look at the clip of you killing baal you drop 2 blue items, and there is not a set item for that base for either of them, so they dropped as blue items. This is why it feels like there are heavy diminishing returns, when in reality it is not that different from how it would be with infinite MF. unfortunately there isn't really a work around for this, but it would be cool if they added a chance for these failed set items to be rare or unique instead of blue.
Higher Magic Find seems to yield better % of variable stats. So if an item has 10-20% damage reduced for example, you have a better chance of getting a perfect 20% the higher the Magic Find.
@@dhgodzilla1 That is factually incorrect. It only makes items drop non-normal more often. There is no code that dictates MF changes the variance of rolled mods nor the amount of mods on any given rare or blue item.
i honestly think magic find is broken in D2R, i find no matter the amount i get the same drop rates, My max was 670mf and when i do 300 i get the same drops, i honestly think the drop rates r just random like runes
WTF just happened dude, I've made my 377mf sorceress down to 147 mf. First Mephisto run brought me Shako, seventh Arachnid mesh... which I've been hunting for more than month. I am still shocked, I dont know if its just coincidence or something. Ive never saw anything like it for real. What is that sorcery dude 0.0
@@Vester9222lol nice finds! Keeping mf below 150% but above 140% just seems to be a secret sweet spot. It allows for better defense and maximize damage for kill speed. While still being able to find the best of the best gear. Plus with faster kill speed you’ll find more runes too.
Increased magic find of 1800% means you have 18 times higher chance than base to find magic items. If a magic item drops with a chance of 1 in 4000, it means it will now drop 1:222. You'd still have to do an average of 222 drop triggers to find it.
Glad you brought your build into D2R, i tried doing it justice with what i had available, but you took it to its max, and seeing an X upload is just awesome in general. Hope Youre doing well, keep up the great work!
My last mf runs I did like 15 years ago tbh. Never cared about mf since then. It's all about mobs killed / hour. I literally just kill everything I see. This ladder already arround 6hrs and I don't Play that mutch tbh. The big deals aren't uniques/set items anyway.
This... isnt how magic find works. Magic find reduces the chance of a no drop, and increases the likelihood of the item dropped to be magic quality or above. Meaning, stacking magic find will not increase the amount of loot dropped by a single mob, nor will it increase the quality of the items to unique or set. In other word, It reduces the likely hood of non-magic bases to drop, and it reduces the likely hood of a mob to not drop any items. This is why clear speed with around 200-250 mf is always best.
@@KarmasCalamity Wrong. It increases the chance of the item roll above magic quality, it does not increase the quality. And it decreases the chance of a no drop, it does not increase the amount of loot dropped from a mob.
It is odd how the diminishing returns is.. But at one point blue and a few rare pvp items are the best.. So I think thy need to make low mf more affective as at that point uneq and set is what you want. I have noticed online I seem to do same with 300 mf vs 80.. FYI I have not had much time in each session.
He did this on single player..with edited items..he could have had a hack easily hid in there...as fast as that Tele was with strict mf gear I'm almost certain of it this video proved nothing but this guy need to eat a sandwich.
For the ones that want to know, the loot filter is actually legal right now because all it does is change the names and add colors to the items but it doesn't filter/remove any items off the floor.
Farmed for hours with 600 MF didn’t really find much. Switched to character with zero MF and instantly found a Griffin’s eye just screwing around in stony tomb. Sometimes I feel like the devs have a slider control for the good items. Also had another instance just like first involving a shako. I switched from MF gear to Battle gear ran out into outer steps and literally the first pack drops a shako. RN Jesus is quite fickle in D2R.
Kill speed / monster lvl / player count is much more important than high mf.. 250-350 is plenty enough to drop anything and still have fun playing cuse this not look fun to me
Ngl, i want big numbers, not some vacuum-dump-stat. I spent waaay to many weeks , yes talking bout time summing up, farming to want to do it again. Gimme inending waves of enemies.

so 1800% magic find does not mean you'll be easier to find unique items. It's just a normal item are now rarely dropped
Higher Magic Find seems to yield better % of variable stats. So if an item has 10-20% damage reduced for example, you have a better chance of getting a perfect 20% the higher the Magic Find.
Check the wiki. It does mean it's easier, but for uniques it's quite diminished and around 1000% it caps out

Diminishing returns. 700mf vs 300mf is probably like a 30% more uniques but slows you down by 30%
Mf is a placebo.
The sweet spot is between 200 and 300
After that the diminishing returns are extreme
145%-149% mf is the secret mf % number. Don’t believe me? Run 20 terror zone solo single player and you’ll understand why. Trust me.

Thats a good point logically, but magic find/drop rate works different in diablo2 try research a bit more or read some comment here

Seems like the devs got smarter & and didn't give anything 4 that much magic find on a 1st time kill LOL
Doesn't it have diminishing return if you have more Magic Find?
Why are you setting to 8 players? Set it to 7 for the lowest “no drop rate”. That should help a lot
the item drop in d2r is kind of strange. i got even 2 Lo's in pre-1.14 with my lv.60 barb and no single one in D2R with my first 3 lv.90 barbs.

False it does effect quality on the chsnce of the % drop.
1180 is actually the magic number if you run every variable.
