do you have good experiences with Filipino priests? Bec the ones I've encountered are always irritated when you ask them questions or confess lengthily
they are too much influenced with America, Martin. America brought protestantism. anythign America says, Filipinos will believe. protestantism in PH is about making money. protestant pastors in PH preaches the prosperity gospel, as opposed to Catholic priests that preaches about taking up your cross and following Christ. poor Filipinos are easily swayed by money...so they turn to protestantism, then mock the Catholics because most Catholics in PH are grounded and free and are accepting of God's will.

I like Mr. Staples. He's still got a lot of his Assemblies of God and Baptist in him, and I mean that in a good way. Deacon Alex Jones said when he became Catholic he didn't stop being Pentecostal and I feel kind of the same way about Mr. Staples.

i know in this Days and times is very important to know the Bible, history of the church etc. but we could never forget that for years nobody used to have a Bible like we have it today, that Been said so if any heretic back when the first Christians ask them anything about there faith did they quoted the text and verse that didn't exist yet and from a Bible that didn't exist yet so how did the first Christians survive for 1500 until the (deformation) sorry reformation. so does it means that the Christians for the first 1500 years are going to hell cause they didn't have a Bible to read it for themselves? because I thought Jesus left his church for that purpose. for 1500 years if you wanted to be a Christian and know about the word of God, you needed to go to church.

Beloved friend in Christ: Trusting Christ is not a sin. But it would be a sin to presume that after you have once confessed your sins to Christ in a personal prayer, you would be guaranteed to go to Heaven no matter what you did after that point. That would be what Catholics call presumption, and you can see why it's a sin if you think about it. It denies the necessity of continual repentance and conversion in life. So long as we we still sin, then we still need to repent, confess, and try to change with the help of God's grace. Christ gave us the sacrament of Confession when He appeared to His disciples after His Resurrection and said to them, “Receive the holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.” (John 20:22-23 NABRE) If we're going to call ourselves Christians, we should take Christ's words and actions seriously.

Tim Spangler That means we have to believe as true everything that Jesus did and taught. Faith is a work because it is an internal act, an act of the intellect moved by the will which in turn was moved by grace.
Tim Spangler How could you believe in the one who sent if you reject his teaching on the Eucharist (John 6)? How could you believe in the on who was sent if you reject his Church? Jesus says to his disciples he who rejects you rejects me.
Tim Spangler Just to answer your question is it easy to make this verse out of context but the bible teach that we are justified by works and faith and not by faith alone. See verses James 2:24, James 2:14, Matt 25:35 etc etc. Now find me a verse in the bible that says Once save always save?
