The "low resolution" works. It gives you an ethereal appearance and the birds are the perfect accompaniment. This entire performance is hauntingly beautiful.
If I had her look and her amazing voice, I'd constantly wander in forests and sing just so people who walk into the forest can find me and enjoy the moment
People like Myrkur should be employed for that very purpose.Walking in the forest is damned near perfect as it is.Running into someone like her & listening for a couple of songs before going on one's way would make the final touch of beauty.
Funny story, I once decided to go out to a secluded little forest and wander about playing my flute and I soon noticed that there were a LOT of squirrels there. So I made it a daily routine to go there and play to the squirrels. Eventually the squirrels began to get used to my presence and one day a squirrel crawled down from the safety of the trees and reached out his little paw. I put out a finger as well and the squirrel grabbed my finger and we essentially shook hands. I thought this was cool as beans, but apparently someone happened to be wandering by and they saw the whole ordeal happen. A month later, I found out that they went to my high school and they thought they were hallucinating the whole time. I was asked if I was supposed to be some sort of forest nymph or whatnot. I also gained the endearing nickname "squirrel boy".
Excuse the low film resolution and the loud birds. The song is 'I riden så'. There are multiple versions of this old song, my favorite is this one in the style of Gjallarhorn. The instrument is a Mandola.
If you watch closely it looks like the cameras picture lags a bit when her head moves, gives a ghostly effect, it makes it look even more like she’s a Nordic spirit out there singing in the forest 😍
My 8 year old son over heard me playing this and said, "is that a Viking singing?" Of all the sounds around him at that point it was your voice in the back ground that caught his attention. You sing with the spirits of our ancestors and the purity of a child's heart could hear it clearly. Thank you for the upload.
Utterly beautiful, enchanting & connecting. The songbirds just add an extra element of natural feeling to the performance. These woodland pieces of traditional European music are truly wondrous. They touch something deep & ancient within my psyche.
je ne me lasse pas de cette ritournelle, cette atmosphère avec les oiseaux qui accompagnent mélodieusement cette magnifique voix de muse si charmante 💞😍💞
That is interesting, when I bought the first Myrkur Ep back in 2014, I believe that the band was listed as Norwegian. Might have been due to Myrkur was still an Anon and released her material under a pseudonym. I could be misremembering though, and thought that it was a Norwegian project since some lyrics I believe were in norwegian.
That might be, tbh i don't remember much from when she first started making music under Myrkur, but Amalie Bruun is Danish, and it is possible that it was listed as Norwegian because some of the studio musicians were Norwegian, i don't know though, you might be right that it was just to cement the whole anonymous pseudonym since she was fairly well known in Denmark as a model/singer/songwriter specificly making pop music for commercial use, f.ex. she made and recorded the title melody to the Danish version of paradise hotel (or "honey, i think i lost some IQ" as i like to call it)
Ok, I’m bald...but this is so beautiful I actually sprouted hair so it could stand on end. You have a beautiful voice. If I heard this while walking in that forest I would think I was going to heaven! ❤️❤️

Agreed.
Yes, it should be in lower resolution and with more birds.
Healthy forest.
I could imagine someone accidently hear you sing and just think that it's some ancient norse skald's ghost singing the songs of old times.

I would think I've stumbled upon Huldra!

Dr Narwhal best story ever, I would have loved to live that.
Believe me, the forest sound *does* fit into the music perfectly

loud birds are soooo epic, i like sounds of naturr in your videos:)
Amalie, the birds are a bonus, not a detraction
No excuses needed for the birds, they add to it and I love them. This is gorgeous, thank you so much,
The birds give it the atmosphere. Love your music and videos. \m/
No worries! The music is the most important thing, and as said by some others, the birds strengthen the performance! :)

A Hulder maybe!
And if she were, would it make a difference? Therefore I'm certain she is!

Are you the real Bill Gates? I had to ask.
A very natural and poetic sound ballad against the background of nature - the noise of the forest and the singing of birds !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Utterly beautiful, enchanting & connecting. The songbirds just add an extra element of natural feeling to the performance. These woodland pieces of traditional European music are truly wondrous. They touch something deep & ancient within my psyche.
Flott musikk. Flott stemme 👍 Ohhh 😔 Jeg savner de nye sangene.

I love this song-it’s very mysterious and calming at the same time. I love the Swedish language, as well as all of the other North Germanic languages.

Dropped a like before the song even started. I like Myrkur very much!!!!
Beautifully sung! I wish Gjallarhorn would get together again, and produce some more songs in this tradition.
Absolutely enchanting
I don’t know why RUclips recommended this to me, but I don’t regret clicking on it. This is so hauntingly beautiful and calming!

Un jour, j'ai entendu le chant des fées enchanteresses de la forêt profonde et merveilleuse
This is a bit like the Nordic version of Vishti Bunyan. Very beautiful and serene. I love this music.
At the end the fact that she looks away quickly and starts getting up as the video ends really makes it eerie.
Ohh Woman, you made me cry...! it touched my soul to that extent. God Bless you.
the film quality andnature only adds to this. You are lovely to me, thank you for this moment.

Why is Celtic music so hauntingly beautiful? It's a ghost you don' wan' see leave.
Edit: if this is actually Nordic and not Celtic, I can strongly understand how they influenced the Celts.
My heart. Songs of my heritage.
RUclips recommended algorithm finally doing something right. Beautiful song!
Beautiful! Thank you very much.
Ok, I’m bald...but this is so beautiful I actually sprouted hair so it could stand on end. You have a beautiful voice. If I heard this while walking in that forest I would think I was going to heaven! ❤️❤️
