Heck of a Copena! Museum quality!!!👍 That Pine is still a killer with the small base chip! The flaking on that piece is incredible in itself! Thanks for sharing
Thanks buddy! I knowww though… that chip out of the base of the pine tree is a bummer, but it’s still pretty awesome as is! I love me some over the top flaking. I guess that was their way of showing off their skills! Haha
Brother you found a wide variety of nice points. I mean what a great day of finds! And 3 little chips and you would have had an EPIC day. Thanks for posting the video. I always enjoy them.
Oh man… I WISH a day of finds was that good! Most of the time my videos consist of 5 or more days worth of hunts. If I’m lucky! Every now and then I’ll have an epic day, but those days seem to be few and far between these days. I’m glad you enjoy the videos, because I definitely enjoy sharing my finds with like minded people who just enjoy artifacts! Thanks again!
Thanks man, and thanks for taking the time to check them out. It’s a pleasure sharing my finds with other people that have a passion for native history and artifacts like you!
I appreciate it buddy! That is definitely one of my more top notch copenas thus far. Made out of Dover chert. It’s usually a little more grey / darker brown. It’s sometimes the tan color like this one, but usually always has the brindle look to it. It was one of the local favorites when it came to materials to use. Thanks again and as always my man!
Thanks buddy! I couldn’t agree more on that pine tree.. it’s a bummer about the chunk missing out of the base, but it’s still impressive to admire either way. I couldn’t get over the flaking on that piece. It definitely wasn’t that guys first rodeo no doubt! Haha thanks as always man!
Thanks so much! The artifacts are even more breathtaking in real life as you could imagine! When I record each find I try and capture that in a slow and methodical way to give off the feeling as if one was there. The gentle sound of little birds and water in the background are an added bonus.. especially over hearing me yapping in the background!😂 Thanks for the uplifting comment again and for coming back to check out the new finds. Hopefully talk to you again in 2 weeks when the newest video comes out!
Thank you sir! That last one will make a proud addition to the copena collection no doubt! Hope you are well. Will you be at the Elizabethtown show again this year?
Thanks man! A classic indeed. Most of the copenas I’ve found around here are the classic type with a similar shape. Although they aren’t usually as well made as this one. Either way, I was sure glad and lucky to find it!
Beauty of a Dover Copena. Nothing wrong with those others either. You can tell they put a good amount of pride into the early stuff and it's apparent they got their time out of them on account of it.I thought early in the video when I could hear the screechers in the background noise that it was surely warm weather. So glad you did that, look forward to those finds even if I'm not finding myself.:>)
Thanks buddy! That last one was a proud addition to the copena collection. You’re so right about the old stuff too.. the quality on that stuff was like nothing else! Haha yeah the finds in this video were from last year, hence the sounds of summer in the background! My finds were so backed up on me last year I wasn’t able to get them all into videos in a timely manner. I’m working on getting them all into videos now though! Thanks as always man!
Hah… If only! That’d be great being able to walk through the mud and have them stuck to me like magnets.🤣 But then the thrill of the hunt would be gone!
They always amaze me to man… even after finding them for years and years. They never cease to stop making me admire them! There’s no telling how many 100’s of times if picked up my older pieces just to look at them again! Sorry to get the envy stirring in you though buddy! Haha You might not want to watch my next video if so! Hah Only kidding.. I do have an interestingly neat piece for the next one though! Thanks again!
Crushed it again!!! A few new types this time. Those old timers really knew how to drive a parallel flake and make the most wicked teeth too!! They are works of art!!! You’re very lucky!!!
Whew… man it’s getting harder to keep up the pace with my old finds and videos! Haha I’m having to throw in the broken ones just to make it look like I’m not slacking out there. Man I hear ya though… I was commenting to someone earlier about the old stuff and their unmatched knapping skill! It’s really jaw dropping to see what they could do with such primitive tools. Wait until my next video.. wicked teeth on an old piece you’ll see! I get goosebumps just taking about it! Thanks as always buddy
Yeah buddy! I was covering all the eras in this video. Haha it’s crazy when you can find pieces in one spot from early archaic all the way to Mississippian period. To think of 1 little spot being inhabited off and on for that amount of time is crazy to think about!
Haha man you know the vids just make it look easy! Anyone that spends as much time hunting as I do is bound to make some good finds every now and then! Many times I come home empty handed.. most times I’d venture to say! I try not to think about that though! Haha thanks as always
Thanks man, it definitely made a nice addition to the copena collection! I hear ya on the serrated ones too. They knew how to make them with skill back in the day no doubt! My next video has an oldie in it, with more teeth than Mr. Ed! I can’t wait to share that one with y’all.
Thanks as always man! Do you have a stove going in the garage? Or is it a fancy attached garage with central heat / air?! For some reason I imagine a big wood burning stove blazing, a chainsaw clamped in the vise, and your wife’s broken toaster oven taken apart and strewn about the workbench because you refuse to throw it away without taking a stab at reviving it! 🤣
Love those heartbreaker Kirk’s and pine trees. Like everyone who hunts our part of the world lots of those out there. That copena is really nice. Be safe and keep looking.
Thanks buddy! I hear ya on the kirks and pine trees though… if I had a nickel for every one I have with a missing ear! But I’m still glad to find and proud to own them. Thanks again and as always. Hope you have been doing well!
Dang buddy that Copena is flippin awesome. 2 pinetrees, the one's serrations were smoking. I think the kirk? Was super nice too. Great video, I haven't even been out yet, but I'm still making points though
Thanks man! It’s definitely one of my nicest copenas. I was lucky to find it! I agree with you on the serrations on that pine tree.. the flaking was pretty wild too. My next video will feature a big boy with some mega serrations on it. I’m not even really sure what kind it is? Maybe massive pine tree? I’ll leave that up to the pros like y’all on here to help id it! Best of luck to you when you finally get out buddy!
@Points365 buddy you have forgot more than I will ever know. Check out some of the points I make and hopefully I can get out with Chris soon to find some real artifacts
One of the best copenas I've seen, flaking n material are excellent for the type. At a certain angle flaking looks lateral. But it's a top notch example. Saw one not as good for a pretty penny. T&B🤝
Thanks buddy. I thought to myself that is seemed a little more well made than any of my other copenas. They are typically for me found a little more… rough around the edges! Haha I was sure hoping a cache of them bad boys was about to come out. Months later and hardly a flake found there!
Where to start? That knife in the water at 6:10. What incredible eagle eyes you have. I have a good eye but I never would have seen that one. Your skill at finding incredible artifacts is unequaled. Your skill at presenting them as the art they are is also unequaled. Think of the talent of the artisans who made them thousands of years ago. Ancient past rescued, well said my friend.
Thanks as always buddy. That’s funny you mention the blade at the 6:10 mark… when I was putting the video together and going over my footage, I had no idea what I was even looking at in that video! Haha It was sort of a surprise for me to rewatch it! I’m guessing the artifact just didn’t stand out as much on video as it did in real life. Agreed on these pieces being works of art though.. it blows my mind that such amazing craftsmanship could be achieved with what we call primitive tools. A skill no doubt honed and mastered over their lifetime. I often wonder if the lesser quality pieces I find were youngsters practicing… Or if the real quality pieces were the contributions of an elder, to old to hunt, making points for the others to use? It’s a story only the artifacts themselves could tell. Thanks as always for your comments and the uplifting things you say in regards to the effort put into trying to display them properly. I never understand the commenters who tell me to get a move on with my “slow recording” style “showing every side”! Haha I guess they don’t realize how easy RUclips has made it for people to fast forward?! Thanks again!
Wow what a nice hunt with a variety of points types, that copena at the end was certainly a day maker ,beautiful material, dover I think, spectacular piece, congrads.
Thanks man! You gotta love when the finds are hiding like that… giving 0 indication about what’s hiding beneath the mud! 9 times out of 10 when I record a pull like that, it winds up being something broken or not worth saving… but every now and then… that’s what keeps me recording all those questionable pulls I make! Thanks again buddy!
Thanks man! The pleasure was ours. Thanks again for bringing out a portion of your collection to the show to share with everyone. Hopefully we’ll see you at another upcoming show somewhere! Haha well you know… I’ve gotta get the talking out of my system from time to time so I can keep my mouth shut while the cam is rolling!😂
I appreciate that! It definitely makes the long days coming home empty handed worth it when you finally find that one that keeps you going! Thanks for taking the time to check out the finds
👍 Bet the person who owned that serrated curved blade knife just loved to show it off, I would. Too bad we can't see the myriad of handle designs that were incorporated on these beauties. Nice stuff, thanks. That's one of the most beautiful Paleo Artifact I've ever seen, I would have dropped it too.... from shaking!
Man no joke! The flaking on that curved piece was just plain showing off! Haha bummer about the chunk missing out of the base, but it’s still a proud addition to the collection. Thanks as always buddy!
Thanks man! It’s looking like copena on that last one. Whatever it is I’m glad as always to recover one! I got out for a quick hunt doing some exploring today, I’ll send you a pic of the finds here in a bit.
Bro, you find some of the coolest stuff 👌. Even tho some are broken, that doesn't take away from their beauty 🔥. Best of luck on the next one ✌️. P.s. barefoot is the only way to go 🤙
Thanks man! I’m glad you can appreciate the broken stuff as well. As you mentioned, they are beauties broken or not! As for the barefoot… I hear ya! I always tell people “i like to feel it when I step on them” Although i don’t think I’ve ever found one that way. I have found my fair share of thorns and old barbed wire… oh and that soft shell turtle that one time. That gave me quite the scare when it bolted out from under me foot in the water!🤣
Great find as always the Copena was a stunner. At 16:50 the triangle piece looks like a broken tip that was resharpened, what’s interesting is the two parallel lines of dots across the face. It doesn’t appear to be a fossil but, man made? Thanks for showing, good luck out there👍🏻
Thanks buddy! Yeah that Madison you’re talking about is an interesting looking piece. As cool as that would be for it to be a design on that piece, I believe it is part of the material it was made of. I don’t find much made out of it, but I do have a few pieces made of similar stuff. It definitely makes for some neat looking artifacts! Thanks as always man!
Thanks buddy! Ive thought about doing a collection video, but my problem is displaying them all. I really just need an addition to the house to properly showcase them. Haha easier said than done! But I’ve never been to the Huntsville show. I checked it out… on July 13th I believe it was. It’s only a couple hours away, which I’m not opposed to traveling for some good artifacts!
I appreciate it! But yes, typically when I get out hunting I either scored the day off work, or it’s the weekend. So I try to make the most of my day and typically go sun up to sun down. I can’t wait until the summer gets here when the days are long and the weather is nice and hot!
Thanks again and as always! I always appreciate your colorful responses!😂 That copena at the end was definitely quite the surprise how it was found. I was expecting whatever it was to be broken as seems to be the norm! You know I like my closeups! I always try to get the closest and clearest pic I can of each find so I can see it almost better than I do with it in my hand! Haha
I wonder the same thing! There’s no way that they couldn’t have found them.. admires them no doubt.. maybe they admired them so much they just couldn’t bring themselves to use them, just as I wouldn’t dare use one of mine as a letter opener! Haha Still an interesting thought to think of though. Thanks for checking out the finds!
I will remember that. Most of the time my videos consist of finds from 6 or more hunting trips. So at the end of the day I’m lucky to have 1 complete piece. But if I have a day where I find multiple, a shot of them all together would easily be doable. Thanks for the input!
I will not say "easy" because I do not like the word when it comes to finding, yet river hunting seems really nice. From Indian Trace perspective, it seems it might still be about "location"?
Haha it’s definitely not what I’d call easy either! But it’s significantly easier when you know where to go. You could walk for miles on some stretches of river and not see a flake. Whereas other parts you almost trip over them. It makes you wonder what made some areas so barren or seemingly uninhabited. Only the past knows. But indeed it’s taken many many unproductive trips and miles to amass a catalog of places to frequent. Even still getting out and walking at random at once seemingly lifeless areas produces from time to time. As soon as one spot dies off and no longer produces, another one appears. It’s sad when a spot no longer gives off so much as a flake, but your imagination runs wild imagining what the new spot, just starting to produce flakes has in store for you! Makes me want to get out there now actually!
Thanks as always buddy! I hunt a mixture of it all really. My videos are rarely just finds from one day, and they usually consist of at least 6+ trips out hunting. So some finds are lake, some river/streams. Sometimes they are finds from right here in my back yard! Haha
@@Points365 I know what you mean I live about 10 minutes from Etowah mounds but have found stuff in a small steam 100 ft behind my house they lived pretty much anywhere there was a water supply
Thanks buddy, I appreciate it! I try to get out there and keep ‘em coming, but they are getting harder to find these days! Good thing I still have a few up my sleeve to share with y’all from last year!
You nailed it man! Copena it is. I’m pretty bad at point identifying myself.. finding them.. Ive got that down pat. Figuring out what exactly I’ve found… that’s a different story! There’s just too many to keep up with! Thanks though buddy. I appreciate you checking it out!
Thanks for that! But nice score man. Big sandys are hard enough to find, let alone finding one in a field. It seems like usually they are so deep a plow doesn’t reach them. Nice finds though. Do you share your finds on here? Keep it up representing Whitwell!
@@Points365 no sir I don't have a channel......yet ,me and the wife have kicked the idea around though..I don't have the means to do editing the right way..all I have is my phone
Man, go for it! There are plenty of free apps to edit videos with. If you have an iPhone you can use the app “iMovie” that comes standard on your phone. I’m not familiar with androids, but I’d be surprised if they didn’t have something comparable. People love seeing new finds.. especially fellow Tennesseans seeing new finds made in TN! You could give your input on the finds, or just show em like I do, with no commentary! Either way people love seeing new finds. The reason I started my channel was it was easier to send everyone to my channel instead of trying to txt all of my artifact buddies a video. It sort of spiraled to what it is from there the more people found the channel and realized the artifact sweet spot we live in! Haha Holler if you get a channel cranked up and want some pointers!
Reminder to self must wash hands before making video and also look for points whenever I hear fiddle music nice finds don so is the grey blue brown material a local flint or dare I say imported admittedly it's still tough to watch some of your videos without a tinge of envy the rivers edge is really quite a honey hole anyways about to start our season here in Colorado still a couple months before we can hunt the high country good luck ps did you ever make a skeleton creature from all your bones?
Clean hands are key! Haha I definitely have a thing about rinsing my hands off after getting a smidge of mud on them… every time! Cold or not. The grayish blue / brown material you I think you’re speaking of is dover chert. It’s very common in this area and was one of their favorite materials to use it seems due to the abundance of artifacts found made of it. It comes in a black, blue grey, and a tan color. It typically has a brindle look to it. The copena at the end of the video is also made of dover if I’m not mistaken. But man oh man, I know you’re ready for the spring thaw so you can get back out there at it!
@@Points365 I'm trying to put a few videos together and yeah your right somehow pissing on them to get them out of the ground just doesn't make a good video definitely awaiting the warmer weather
@danielcline7413 haha Oh man that was too funny! But I mean… ya gotta do what ya gotta do! Besides… I doubt that would even penetrate the permafrost you have going on there!
Romans 1:22 Context 19Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
You weren’t kidding when you said G10 most people will never find one ! Very valuable if you’re like me they all stay in a frame until death do us part 👌
Whew… man I think I’d be tempted to sell my kidney on the black market before parting with one of the artifacts I worked so hard to recover! I’m with you.. until death do us part! The big question is what do we do with out collections when said time comes? At this point, a massive collection would almost be a burden on someone unless they were completely crazy about artifacts like you or I.
@@Points365 Believe me l know l have some kids and grandkids it’s just a matter of who gets what!! And there is always a museum donation l guess? We can’t take them with us right!!
The museum donation would seem like the likely choice if no one close to me were interested in artifact… but the thought of them sitting in dusty boxes in storage at a museum pains me too. I know the TN state museum used to have a massive collection displayed. 1000’s of pieces. After they built a bigger and better facility to have more room for displays, they cut their artifact collection down to 6-12 pieces… you heard that right. From 1000’s to 12. That part of history just totally glossed over and tucked away into a corner, while entire wings are dedicated to Oprah Winfrey and Aretha Franklin.
@@Points365 That is a travesty l know we just have to keep on rescuing history and hopefully they end up in a place where people can appreciate them if you figure something out let me know man appreciate your channel 👍

Thanks man! Agreed on the copena. I was sure glad and lucky to be the one to recover it. You’d be correct on the dover I believe.
My Lord 😮!!!
When you flipped out the last one 💥💥💥💥!!!
Awesome show as always, brother 👏!!

They're the best kind.....😎👊⛏⛏
Real nice , love watching you find them.
Thanks so much! I appreciate you taking the time to check out the finds. As long as the finds keep coming, I’ll keep the videos rolling! Thanks again!
You're welcome
Awesome finds! That copena is beautiful! It was great meeting you guys at Gallatin, I still can't believe you talk so much 🙂
Awesome find man, hard work pays off to those whom put the work in,,,,,,,
Semper Fi,,,
I appreciate that! It definitely makes the long days coming home empty handed worth it when you finally find that one that keeps you going! Thanks for taking the time to check out the finds
I love Tennessee arrowheads and artifacts.
As always , a real show stopper at the end ! 😎👍
Thanks again! The show stoppers are getting harder to come by these days… but you know I’ve got one lined up for next weeks vid!
Good finds. Last one looks loke beaver lake or copena. That is pretty.
What a Copena! Frankly I don't know how you keep from letting out a holler on some of these.
Those Copenas are slick sometimes. 👍
@@Points365 👍🏻
Smokers all around!! Would love to see your collection, do you come to the Huntsville Alabama show?
Thanks buddy! Ive thought about doing a collection video, but my problem is displaying them all. I really just need an addition to the house to properly showcase them. Haha easier said than done! But I’ve never been to the Huntsville show. I checked it out… on July 13th I believe it was. It’s only a couple hours away, which I’m not opposed to traveling for some good artifacts!
Out with a bang
Great finds 👏
Do you normally spend the whole day hunting ?
I appreciate it! But yes, typically when I get out hunting I either scored the day off work, or it’s the weekend. So I try to make the most of my day and typically go sun up to sun down. I can’t wait until the summer gets here when the days are long and the weather is nice and hot!
The last one was the best.
ENDING😮😂❤ 🌎 WORTH ONCE IN A LIFETIME😅 🏹💞👩🦳Simply
WISH I COULD JUST HOLD IT.
THRILLING HOW U FOUND IT😮😊THANK YOU😇💞💕💋🏆🎼🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶📹📷 BEST
CLOSE-UPS
Thanks again and as always! I always appreciate your colorful responses!😂 That copena at the end was definitely quite the surprise how it was found. I was expecting whatever it was to be broken as seems to be the norm!
You know I like my closeups! I always try to get the closest and clearest pic I can of each find so I can see it almost better than I do with it in my hand! Haha
I oftentimes wonder how many different cultural occupations found perfectly intact projectiles and used them AS IS.....
Thanks for checking out the finds!
may i recommend you do a clean up video at the end for size comparisons etc i know alot of other ppl do it as well
I will remember that.
Great finds as usual are you on a private permission or is it public just curious it looks like a lake or river
HELL YEAH BROTHER
I appreciate ya buddy!
As usual you find the killers! Congratulations
Thanks buddy, I appreciate it! I try to get out there and keep ‘em coming, but they are getting harder to find these days! Good thing I still have a few up my sleeve to share with y’all from last year!
What was that last point in the video??..it looks like a giant Copena but I'm no good at point types..keep the content comin brother and good luck
You nailed it man! Copena it is. I’m pretty bad at point identifying myself.. finding them.. Ive got that down pat. Figuring out what exactly I’ve found… that’s a different story! There’s just too many to keep up with! Thanks though buddy. I appreciate you checking it out!
@@Points365 every time you drop a video I'm on it..I just found my 4th big sandy a few weeks ago in a field down here in Whitwell tn
Wow the last one is that palm wood petrified? Most stunning!
Romans 1:22 Context
19Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
