I love your humility Andy! Listening to Coney Hatch all these years later reminds me how many great records came out of Canada that decade. I have so many great memories attached to that first album. Thanks for the music!! (Hi from Winnipeg)!

I too was shocked when I heard Tom Petty had died. Then we lost Eddie Van Halen. We keep loosing all the good ones. Who's going to be left. I've never met some of the ones I admired that past. But I still thought of them as friends. They helped me get through so much of life. I had cancer 20 years ago. If it wasn't for Nelson and their After The Rain album. I don't think I would have made it. Years later I had the awesome chance to meet Matt and Gun Nelson and guitarist Joey Cathcart. Sadly we lost Joey in May of this year. When I heard he past. It knocked me to my knees. I'm still not over it. I'm so happy all these great people got to experience great things. Thanks a lot for this great interview.

I saw them in 84 or 85 in Rochester NY at a little bar near college. It was a nasty night out, freezing rain, nobody was out and only about 20 people showed up at the bar to see them play.. It was great for us!!

What a great interview! Well done, looking forward to more. I saw Coney Hatch open for Judas Priest at Northlands Coliseum in Edmonton, they were great! Also saw them at Rock and Roll Heaven, and the Entex in Mississauga when the got back together in 1989? Great shows also!!

I used to trek into London, Ontario to see Coney Hatch at Mingles whenever they were in town. I saw them at MLG opening for Judas Priest and even about 8 years ago with Goddo in Cambridge. My ears are still ringing from that one. Seriously. Both bands sounded fantastic but I’m pretty sure I damaged my hearing that night. Way too loud for that small of a venue in my option. Oh well, too late now.

Honestly, I said it in the 80s and still say that you cannot hear bass on Coney Hatch records and agree completely with Andy on that bad mixing when guitars and drums are on target. This really is important because Andy plays quite well and is much more obvious when Coney Hatch was in concert.
