wow i love this comment so much!! thank you for your kind words!!! generally i joined the club early and i did everything i could to show the advisors my interest in the clubs, and then when it came time to run for office, the club members had already seen my leadership in some ways, so i think that helped in getting me elected to the positions!
@@jaylinmaxwell9870 colleges take that into account. As long as you’re challenging yourself with the courses offered, you’re good. Ik a guy who goes to a small catholic school & got accepted into Yale even though his school didn’t offer as many classes as public high schools do. anyways, good luck

This is great advice! I’ll be applying to college this year and I think my theme is definitely music it’s like 90% of my ec’s but it’s not what I want to study so I’m not sure if that’s not as good? Also yes I’m from Beijing but I haven’t been back for four years, thanks covid-19 :/

Congrats!!! I was watching your video and saw that you received a B in PreCalc, and then took Honors Calc the following year. I am a current sophomore and took PreCalc this year and have a B+ too but can’t decide whether to take AP Calc ab or Honors Calc next year. My school has it so you have to take AP Calc ab before bc. Do you have any recommendations for the devision or whether you benefitted from a year of Honors Calc after Pre Calc?

I decided to take Honors Calc the next year because I wanted to not be so stressed during junior year with bc while i had to worry about the act, and it actually still prepared me well for bc calc. at ny school you have to choose either ab or bc, so i chose to take honors and then bc instead of bc and multivariable.
hey! i did a program affiliated with the China Institute! It was a month long summer language intensive and i stayed with a host family! i’m not sure if they’re offering it this year, but i know that middlebury college has a great program, and so does nsli-y
I would say do as many practice tests as possible, and then after doing this, take a couple of days before the test to just relax and take a deep breath, i did this the whole summer before I got a 35!

Honestly since I didn’t apply REA, I don’t really know much about it, but I would say if you really love Stanford and think it’s the one for you, then apply REA!
My high school is really competitive, and i would say that i definitely was not the smartest in my grade, but i did take the most challenging courses offered and i worked extremely hard all throughout high school!!

Can I get full ride in Harvard? I'm an international student with sat1500 ,gpa4 unweighted ,2 subject test 800 with eca of 2 international publications, institutional Olympiad in chemistry and MUNs . Last time I took it was 1050 :) .
I would say try to have some extracurriculars, because if you leave the whole extracurriculars section of the common app blank, it’s probably not a good sign to the colleges
Music was when i was 4 when I started playing piano, and theater was in 4th grade when I did this show called Music Theater workshop in elementary school!!
