Congrats on the lovely new bathroom Tori 👏 Thanks also for the info about the fragrance in the Merwave products - as someone with sensitive skin and a very keen sense of smell I tend to stick to natural fragrances in products but I prefer fragrance free if I can get it. I think you got great results despite having to style upside down. I loathe styling upside down. Even though I apply styling products in the shower while standing upright, I also plop my hair into a wrap while in the shower so that involves flinging my head forward to get the hair in the right position for plopping. But when I take my hair out of my hair wrap, after plopping is finished, I fling my head backwards and that gets the hair to come unstuck from my scalp. If I've been diligent about applying a good amount of gel the head flinging doesn't disrupt my clumps. I've also had some success with a modified version of SwavyCurlyCourtney's swing curl clump method for making sure that hair doesn't stick to the scalp when styling upside down but on the whole it does give me slightly wonkier results with the hair at the back of my head. So well done for styling outside your comfort zone 😊
It’s so refreshing to see someone in the wavy/curly sphere following Michelle and Helene and not demonizing the typical laundry list of ingredients that actually serve very real functions in cosmetic formulation (and have many decades of safety data behind them) 🙌🏻
Thanks so much, it’s refreshing to also read comments like yours. For a while I fell into the demonisation trap but I’m pleased to say I’ve freed myself and found some amazing science based information sources to listen to instead 🙏😊
Oh wow wow wow Tori I am so impressed with the Merwave results! I can really see the difference in your hair! I am definitely going to treat myself to their kit. Thank you so much for doing this review. 💖 It is very much appreciated. Take care. X
I was so amazed, honestly absolutely fantastic products. I used the deep conditioner the other day, it came free when I ordered the kit and that is also beautiful; fantastic hair felt so so soft. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you do treat yourself 🤞💖x
I will treat myself to the 0:01 kit for sure and I will let you know how I get on. I am like you and don’t like styling my hair with my head upside down. I always do it upright. I am wondering if you would get the same results if you styled it upright? Just a thought. X
I think I’ve been using Merwave since the company started (not sponsored btw) lol and I love their products, especially recently as they introduced have a wave cream so I can use that instead of step 4&5, or as well as, depending on the look I want. They also have a purple hair mask which is great for blondes or like me who’s letting our natural greys shine through 👩🏼🦳 I must admit though I don’t follow the tutorials to the letter. I also prefer to get my centre part in place and then use the styling products. It’s just trial and error and finding that right routine and product amounts etc but that’s true of all hair products. Love the review though and great results! Oh and the refresh spray is nice too…. My son calls it my “soul-glo” 😂 for those who know Coming to America!
I’ve been so impressed so far, I got the deep conditioning mask for free with the kit and I used that this week - it made my hair so so soft. I will make a note of those other products you’ve mentioned in just trying to use up stuff before I buy any more … how long that will last I cannot possibly say 😆
I found you on YT because my 10yo has wavy hair, I've looked at merwave many times, but is it really worth the money? would you say that you achieve more with their products, compared to what you list in your other videos?
I think they are very lovely lightweight products that do work well for waves. I also think wavy hair is generally made to be more complicated then it actually is and you can have a very simple routine using just one styling product. This comes down to personal preference, how much time you want to spend and whether you don’t mind feeling product in your hair or not. Most days I just use a leave in conditioner (non-negotiable for my fine, tangle & frizz prone, colour treated hair) and a gel. Hope that helps x
Wow, I love❤ your shower room .I did not know that number 3 was a leave-in conditioner as ive been using Redken Acidic Bonding leave-in bond repair conditioner with it lol at least it has heat protection. Your hair turned out really lovely with the products i offen change out my hair gel as i do prefer the umberto Giannini jelly as it gives me more shine sofar im liking the results with the Merwave
Awe thank you so much - it’s been a very long time saving up to have it done and it’s been a real nightmare being without a bathroom but I am so happy with the final results ❤️ That’s how I think of the feed treatment - because you don’t wash it out and it’s not a bond repair so felt like the best way to describe it 😆 I loved the results the only issue I have is the lack of heat protection but if I used the olaplex gel instead that’s a heat protectant so maybe I’ll swap out the gel too in future 🙌x
That the thing I don't like about upside down styling, is that your hair glued to your head. Maybe try the side styling, like you did with the bowl method.
I definitely think I’m going to try side styling next time but I was pretty happy with the lovely volume I got; I felt my hair looked thicker and fuller than usual.
Congrats on the lovely new bathroom Tori 👏

@@Tori_Hunter That would be really grateful. Thank you so much. 💖 x

The worst thing you can do to frizzy curly hair is keep touching it over and over. It will only make it even frizzier.
Yup 100% agree. And yet I still can’t keep my hands off my hair 😆🙈
