For those in the know, the first 2 years on the gun line in artillery generally, but cdo gunners especially, does that involve ANY action on the sharp end, should you get deployed? There must be a reason why the still hone infantry skills, or does that just lie in wait for when you go FST or JTAC etc?
this lot are royal artillery training to be in a commando version and the pti was reme whether his lid is from being attached or he's done aac i don't know.
Any UK personnel who pass P company or the commando course (deemed to be hard rigorous selection) has the option to access parachute training...so he's jump trained alongside the multiple RM entry skills he already has

I don't think the word was used negatively in this circumstance, I think the prospective commandos would agree they are wannabees until they pass selection and would probably view the label as a challenge.
