Do you like playing Irish, Schottish, and Celtic music on your mandolin? :-)

Actually, not really, but only because there are other forms of music I enjoy more: '60s and '70s folk- and country-rock stuff. That said, I recognize the importance of learning the underpinnings of these forms of music to better my skills across the spectrum of music. The one "Irish" tune I do enjoy and play with a group is Steve Earle's Galway Girl. I've got the breaks on that up to speed but I plan I bto sign up for next week's boot camp.

Absolutely love the channel. I'm a long time guitar player and recently got a mandolin. Thanks for the amazing lessons. 🙏

I’m loving this one. I have also picked up Harvest Home Hornpipe also known as Cork Hornpipe. Thanks Magnus!

Yes, Dennis Murphy's and John Ryan's polka is great played together. It's the tune they were playing down below in the movie Titanic. You get a feel for the drive and energy that is in Celtic music.

I really like the Irish and Scottish tunes and play it a lot, but I also like Nordic folk music. This is a very nice tune. You speak a little about the tempo Magnus. What is the normal tempo for horn pipes like this?

Can you please share the notes?

I get so much out of watching your channel. I’m actually watching while learning the Irish tenor banjo, but the tuning is the same as on the mandolin, even though the finger stretch along the neck is bigger.

    Not a "song". There's nobody singing. It's a tune.
