Filmmaker Prakash Jha is known for creating hard-hitting films. One of his films is ‘Raajneeti’, where he recalls the challenges he faced during its release. He remembers that some members of Congress objected to the movie, feeling that Katrina's character was inspired by Sonia Gandhi. The Censor Board initially denied the film a certificate, prompting Jha to appeal to the tribunal, which overruled the decision and granted the certificate for the film's release.

He tried to say as much he could without being direct for obvious reasons. By the way, he was able to call Congress's outgoings in the most clear terms even when they were in power, that's the difference between two governments. But, hats off to him to sit tight when everybody seems to be crawling. And, I will always love him for 'Matto ki Saikil', what a brilliant piece of cinema he made there and his acting....no words to express!
Because congress has enjoyed a big time in power post 1947. So they provide a lot of material to tell stories on. Moreover Congress is family based, that is handy subject to weave story in. 5-10 yrs govt, you can make only event based movies. What can you make movies on with 6 yrs of vajpayee and 3 yrs of Janata Party ? Even then J P datta released LOC Kargil in 2003. If you ask Prakash Jha any subject which he wants to make on current govt, he will fall short of ideas. Arakshan and Rajneeti are perennial subjects. Moreover, people are more likely to see stories on 50s 60s 70s 80s rather than 2015,16,17,18 etc. Why, because of little availability of audio-visual material of that era. If I recall Anurag Kashyap made a movie on demonetiization, portraying it negative. It didn't click with people. Many movies are made these days also but they just pass by.
