I've watched this performance several times over the past few years. It's great! This performance shows very well what an excellent musician can do with a SānXián. I like how Chén XiǎoFēng slides his fingers along the strings to make "sliding" sounds. I heard another "special effect" or two that I liked. I see nothing (frets?) on the neck to guide where to place fingers to obtain specific notes. Chén XiǎoFēng shows a lot of skill (and practice!) by this performance coming out so well.
In addition to the other video of Chén XiǎoFēng in this channel, are there any other performances by this musician on youtube? If yes, where?
Does Chén XiǎoFēng do as well with a PíPá or a Ruǎn?
Thank-you for posting this educational and enjoyable performance.

The performer is 陳曉鋒 from Hong Kong, an outstanding artist in the new generation of Chinese traditional musicians.
The name of the work is 風雨鐵馬, composed by 白鳳岩 in the mid 1900's. This solo piece was inspired and portraits the eave bells chiming in the wind, hence the name 風雨鐵馬 in analogy. This is an everyday scene found in alleys of Beijing. By mimicking the various sounds of eave bells, slow and fast, gentle and aroused, the work reflects drastic changes that the thousand-year-old city was going through during the time.
