  • Hiking from the parking lot to the water and back is about 5 miles round trip. In this video I will give you some tips. I hiked this with my dogs alone. I did not hike back through the canyon, since getting the dogs back up the water fall/slide area alone is hard. I hiked back to the parking lot above the canyon. Bellow is a link of my all trail recording if you would like to follow it.

Hiked what we called “Dog Slide Canyon” back in the mid 60’s before they paved Route 95 from Havasu City to Parker Dam. Had to push our long haired doxy down the rocks and catch him at the bottom. This was well before the Bridge, which I watched them build. Watched an episode of Route 66 filmed at Site Six recently. Remembered hanging out with the outboard motor testing technicians at the shops by the launch ramp. Great times.

Your supposed to leave the rope down, why would you throw it back up!? Now it’s useless for people climbing back up the trail….dumb….leash your dogs as well.

Why assume that I didn't put the rope back down. Just because I didn't include it in video... Also my dogs are mostly leashed. Only unleashed for parts of the hike were leashes can cause injury. The day we went there was not a lot of people hiking...

@@saracondit6031 Fair enough, perhaps my comment needed some more thought - and less rudeness. thank you for the reply and keep making interesting videos of this area. Take care
