Thanks for your question, AST TV! :) The stressed syllable in a word is the most important syllable, the part of the word we hear more clearly. If the word is only one syllable - cup, hat, house - then we stress the whole word. But if the word has more than one syllable, then there is always one that is stressed more than the others - COFfee (1st syllable is stressed), reLY (2nd syllable is stressed), baNAna (middle syllable is stressed). Hope this helps answer your question!
