After hearing your gas cleaning tip- I decided to surprise my wife by replacing her make-up remover with some gasoline. Can’t wait to see the results... She’s gonna be so happy!! 🙌🏻 🙏🏻 thanks for the tips!
I like the maxima air filter cleaning kit it smells strong but works good.I always spray the cleaner on then get a little water on it and work it in then rinse dry and apply the oil
Well done..Good times, a clean bike is a happy bike. I had always taught my boys wash and clean their bikes themselves, properly. We have made it a routine to check and grease the suspension linkage after 8 days of good long rides. We have lots of sand, here in north central ALBERTA. Have fun
Shine and protectant is the same as back to black. I love that, because it makes my bike shine and look really nice, but it also keeps it pretty clean.
We have slick stuff too, degreaser is good for the carburetor, I have a Kawasaki but when we spray the bikes with the soap it gets all white and I say, “ thanks for getting me a husqvarna”
Hello I just bought a KX85 2018 model today and I'm very happy I saw this video cuz I need to learn how to maintain it cuz it is a two-stroke unlike my trail bike where I can throw it off a cliff and it'll be okay so thank you
Use no toil I’ve been using it for over 20 years you can wash the filter in the sink don’t use gas it melts the glue in the air filter also only use twin air filters I never had a air filter problem .thanks for your videos
For air filter cleaner get the twin air kit. You get 2 tubs, one for oil and one for their cleaner. Works the best. It’s vital to clean air filters not just so your bike is at peak performance but if dirt or dust or anything gets into your airbox, it will head into the engine and ruin your bike. It happened to me on my ktm and it needed a new top and most of the bottom end done as well as some cylinder work. Also when you wash your bike you need to take the air filter out especially with a jet wash. Get an airbox wash cover and put that on whilst you wash otherwise it will shorten the life of your air filter and water will get into your airbox. After every ride clean and oil the air filter thoroughly it is debatably one of the most vital bits of maintenance.
I don't know if you have tried it yet but spraying WD40 under your rear fender prior to riding should also help when it's clean up time. And it keeps it looking shiny lol. Congrats, the kids' progression is simply unreal!
Dawn dish soap, just plug the drain in your sink and fill with water while pouring the soap in. Once it's super sudsy set the filter in and squeeze it so it absorbs the soap and let it sit for a while. Check if it's clean and if not repeat the last steps.
If you’re using a petroleum based filter oil, I have found that the best way to clean it is to first rinse it in paint thinner,(gets the oil out) then twice in warm soapy water, then once in clean warm water.
For air filter cleaning iv been using no toil air filter oil(I looked it up and it has to be no toil oil because its different from most other i don’t remember why but that’s what I heard) and oxi clean (powder put in a bucket with warm water) as the cleaner, this is all I have ever used and it seems to clean pretty well. I was recommended this by the person I bought my last bike from since he also has had good results with this. I looked it up and it seem that not that many people know about it. I like this since it cleans well and is relatively cheap compared to other cleaner on the market, but it won’t damage the air filter like gas.
Best and cheapest air cleaner I found is mineral spirits followed by dawn dish soap/water the lube with Lucas Oil air filter oil. Works great and is cost efficient. I use a cheap sponge to sponge on the filter oil and keep the spirts in a 5 gal sealed bucket and the dirt/oil settles on the bottom.
This video was Cool. And chatting with Mr. Lizard was cute. Thanks. Also gonna steal your idea to dry the bikes with my leaf blower. Yeah, A dirty air filter fouls plugs quickly. Those kiddos should be cleaning the bikes with you. Lol. Thanks. 👍😎
for air filter cleaner i use this Klean brand (thinner) 7$ for 1/2 a gallon. no gas smell and it works like gas. so far no damage to my air filters or any some sort. and i poured half of the solution in a tub and been washing the filter few times now.... make sure to close is every after cleaning so it wont evaporate. saves a lot of money.. get it from wal mart
I'm with you on gas to clean the air filter. Nothing better. People always want to act like it's bad for the foam, but I don't find that to be the case. I'll continue to use gas.
13:15 - the actual practice is to put a little extra oil in those spots. The oil is sticky and holds the filter to the seal better. You will notice if you leave it on for a while in storage it actually sticks when you go to take the filter off.
I cleaned my Husky after every race. I mean I was totally anal about it. I repainted some waring parts. I paid 1,000 for it in 1971 and sold it for $900,00 in 1974. This bike was like it came off the showroom floor. The guy who bought it could not believe that it was made in 1971, He bought it and never even test drove it. I met him in the Mohave Desert and he said that he got a better deal then I did. I was happy and so was he. I owned an Ossa Stiletto, a CZ and a Maico 400. Loved them all. Ride you m.....f...... Gone are those days. PS. My Husky was the best.
Use the notoil stuff to clean it. I think they have more of a sample pack with the cleaner and the oil. The cleaner is in a blue bottle and oil in red. It’s all biodegradable and works insane every time. Like brand new filters. We ride in the desert and clean them after a 100 mile race and there good as new after we clean them. The cleaner is kinda like laundry detergent beads and works super well. You do it in your sink too, and to be honest it really cleaned the sink as well. Just clog your sink, dump some cleaner in, put the filter in and kneed in the cleaner...(just like clean it you know) then let it dry completely, then put a light amount of oil onto it, and let that dry for 15 min, then your good to go. Don’t use gas tho, unless you get new filters often, it really eats away at the filters ability to stop stuff, believe me, I’ve blown up a bike doing this. Hope this helps. Love your content!
yes ^ also hot water and dawn dish soap works well-using gas can be unhealthy for filters it can break down the fibers in the filter making it less effective
Ok so I know I'm late with this video but the best way I personally clean my air filter and spark plug is with a can of carb a choke cleaner Just try that and see if it works because it works for my spark plugs and their hard to clean
I usually ride my dirtbike to work and sometimes I get paranoid about noises that happen. It’s just been rebuilt and some days it’s compression is really low but it still starts first try. And I also hear something near the fat Exaust and idk if that’s just it vibrating or if it’s something I’m not properly maintaining
I love using dawn soup because it is cheap and it works amazing for me and I get some complains because people are like you’re not using dirt bike specific air cleaner and then I change my air filter and they will do it with me and they turn out the same and dawn is cheap
why, do you not use, and airbox cover when washing ?🙂. one thing i want to add to your list, take the built up, overpressure of your front fork out, after each time you have been out ridning, and if you have an air fork, check your air pressure every time you have to ride, just like with tire pressure. if you switch to bio air filter oil, then it is much easier to get off again, with bio dirt remover, I can recommend motorex, do not use gasoline it destroys the filter 🙂
Nice dirt bike I've been wanting to have one but my mom and dad will not buy one :( im a kid btw im a fan of you and dirt bike fan and keep up the good work and I'm from the Philippines
That’s cool you live in the Philippines. That sounds nice. I guess if my parents wouldn’t buy me a dirt bike I would surf. Can you do that there??? 🏄♀️
I would like to give u guys a tip when clean ur bike remove ur air filter change it after each ride when dirty but when cleaning u should get a cleaning cap on the place where ur air filter should be to make sure u dont get ur filter wet because that will destroy your bike
came to revisit this channel after riding the 250 last time i messaged as i now ride my dads yamaha 2003 wr450f which god dam rips like heck. I do remember me saying like ill teach your kids but i think they would teach me instead lol that was the (11 year old me back then god lol). But yea I revisited this channel after many days and years and it takes me back to 2019 or 2018. I might record a video on the 450 sometime have a great day -Tyson Skarratt (Aka Dubstep1000 , ExodusRBLX)
Tire pressure should be around 6 or 9
I recon if you run this tire pressure your laps are gonna be faster in about 6 or 9 seconds
Or you can just send it and I reckon your lap times are gonna be 69 seconds faster. And you’ll be able to send the big 69ft table
Man, you all are slow. I'm running 6 or 9 seconds per lap.
Not riding less than 11 psi…
After hearing your gas cleaning tip-

Lol
That lizard is more interested than the kids when you are washing the bikes
Right 😂😂
@Madison Cain lol
I just leave mine at that 95% clean mark. I don’t got the time to go at my bike w a toothbrush😂
Definitely #1 Moto Dad. My dad had a duty to fulfill. He bought me a CR125 in the 70's.
Thanks! I really needed this. Just now starting to get warmed up and getting into the riding mood. Have a great day!
I went to the track about a week ago and i swear, washing bikes is the hardest part of motocross. Thanks for the recomendation!
I can't wait to get my first dirtbike this spring break this is awesome!!!

Clean and lube the chain. I've tried no-toil, Twin Air, and Uni filter cleaner and oil. So far I like Uni the best.
I just realized how I’ve been watching sense you guys were barely able to afford a ssr and you have grown so much keep it up
I’ve realized I’m not like most 14 year olds😂 I loveeee detailing my bikes and doing bike work😂😂

This mans is great I wish I had a dad that whould wash my bike while I sit in the house and play video games

Simple green & a garden hose is all you need!
That George Michael music insert when you were talking about changing your oil got a smile out of me.
The Twin Air Bucket System for cleaning air filters is the best!!
Kerosene, also known as paraffin, is the best to clean just about anything, including air filters.
I use the Twin Air oil and dirt remover. it uses tubs so you dont need to spray anything on, works amazing.
Use shout launders detergent for the bikes all u have to do is spray it on and it comes cleans every little spec with just spraying it with water
This video was Cool. And chatting with Mr. Lizard was cute. Thanks. Also gonna steal your idea to dry the bikes with my leaf blower. Yeah, A dirty air filter fouls plugs quickly. Those kiddos should be cleaning the bikes with you. Lol. Thanks. 👍😎
That thing sat there for like 20 minutes 🦎
Cleaning air filters I use the maxima air filter cleaning kit it works great and easy to use
All excellent advice, but your video makes me want to send Mason a box of bubble wrap! 😏😁😂

@Serlo John Gotta ask, why wouldn't he?
for air filter cleaner i use this Klean brand (thinner) 7$ for 1/2 a gallon. no gas smell and it works like gas. so far no damage to my air filters or any some sort. and i poured half of the solution in a tub and been washing the filter few times now.... make sure to close is every after cleaning so it wont evaporate. saves a lot of money.. get it from wal mart

It will maybe eat away at the filter eventually but worth the convenience
Cant wait to get my first dirt bike this august. I’m getting a Yamaha ttr 230
I recently got a k&n air filter cleaner Oiler kit that I like. Haven’t tried many brands but this seems to get it done.
13:15 - the actual practice is to put a little extra oil in those spots. The oil is sticky and holds the filter to the seal better. You will notice if you leave it on for a while in storage it actually sticks when you go to take the filter off.
Try using solvent to clean the air filter I’ve always used that and have found no problem with it and it works good.

Like the bikes huskys are the way to go
Uni filter cleaner. Gas breaks down the filter. Dish soap also works, just takes longer.
Yes I agree the filter won’t last as long with gas
Use solvent to get the old oil off and then use dish soap and water to get it fully clean
I use twin air cleaner kit for my filter, work like a charm, and easy to use
Use the notoil stuff to clean it. I think they have more of a sample pack with the cleaner and the oil. The cleaner is in a blue bottle and oil in red. Try No Toil’s airfilter cleaner and oil, works really well alongside with dawn dish soap afterwards. 👍🏽
I use Maxima Racing Oils air filter clean er and oil. The cleaner works great!
To Clean your air filters use mineral spirits it works a lot better than gas and is a lot better for the filter
On the air filter I use mineral oil otherwise paint thinner it better than gas
No Toil is the Brand of Oil cleaner and oil that I use for my twin air filters.. Seems to do the job and its not too expensive
Pj1 air filter cleaner works good for me
Love your content always putting a smile on my face 10000/10000 keep up the great work
i caught a lizard and i held it by the tail in my hotel and it fell and now it is somewhere in my hotel running around
For air filter cleaner use twin air it works super good
that 1970 Camaro tho
Move to stuff is so good
If you can’t get the oil off the rear fender use WD-40 that’s what I use and it cleans up just like new
hi!!!!!!!!!!! If you see this get into KTM, there cost a lot but theres so much mods you can put on them.
You need to make your kids who rode the dirtbikes last wash them, show them the reality of motocross
and all the dirty work
@@edmeger not that much dirty work actually
You need to try Maxima biowash and you need to try SC1 it works great I use it on my son bike and my bike also
Power washer is on my list
That would defenitly help lots
Normally when a new tire is mounted it will be set to 20 pounds to seat the tire. So always check your tire pressure.
That makes sense 👍🏻
I love using dawn soup because it is cheap and it works amazing for me and I get some complains because people are like you’re not using dirt bike specific air cleaner and then I change my air filter and they will do it with me and they turn out the same and dawn is cheap
I use the no toil air filter cleaner and oil on my filters.
Exactly how I clean my diet whips! 💪
Those are some lucky kids I have to wash all my bikes and deep clean the all it’s a pain but overall looking good lucky kids great dad
why, do you not use, and airbox cover when washing ?🙂.

Try using furniture Polish that's what I use on my dirt bike and it work awesome

Cool as looking at them husky together
I've just got a new 65 aswell and the tire pressure was around about that
I would like to give u guys a tip when clean ur bike remove ur air filter change it after each ride when dirty but when cleaning u should get a cleaning cap on the place where ur air filter should be to make sure u dont get ur filter wet because that will destroy your bike

U should use WD-40 and put it all all the metal parts when it’s wet
Here’s what I do after my ride........
I put my bike in my truck and go home. Ya that’s it, but sometimes if I’m in a good mood I’ll wash my bike.
When u realise that slick cleaning products don’t ship to Australia 😐😭
If ya keep oiling the chain which you should do it wouldn't go rusty even if its wet
Use oxi clean it’s the best cleaner after you do it let it sit for a little bit and then rinse them and repeat the process
When you get back to Washington you should ride at airway heights
I love all of your videos
Hey guys!! 😎🤙🏼
I just use gas to clean my air filter never bothered with anything else
when you have two or more airfilters is very comfortable then you don't have to clean airfilter after one ride.
Where did y’all get your helmets and how much were they?
Armor all helps you slide from the front of the seat to the back faster for the holeshots😆😆
Ob the rear fender use a magic eraser and awesome works great
Prob gonna be tough for the kids to squeeze the bike with the slick shit you sprayed On the shrouds and frame 😬
It can be connected to a garden hose or pressure washer, the water is what sprays it out
I just use gas to clean it and then grease it
good video but please don't spray the protection spray on the peaces where the kids grip there bikes the plastics get really slick.
and the overpressure of your fork must be loosened before every training otherwise they become super hard when you have air forks
Does Luke still have abs of steel If yes could you show us
I’m 15 and barely 5 foot what bike would U recommend cuz I have a 2006 crf80f and I’m trying to upgrade but I want a 65 or possibly a 85
