What a good comparison. I like the Intense the best, as well.

This was very informative to watch how the different blocks behave side by side. I use both Inktense Blocks (inspired by your previous videos!) and ArtGraf Tailor blocks, and I agree that they behave very differently. Ironically, I have been using ArtGraf on some paper that is not at all intended for wet media, but something about the surface brings out the grainy roughness of ArtGraf that I really love! Also, the "graphite" Tailor block is great for monochrome paintings. (I love the music you picked for this! 😄)

Hi Tina 😊 the ArtGraf blocks are very good on mixed media and all sorts of budget papers (unlike Inktense). So if someone wants to use blocks in let's say more affordable sketchbooks, I would recommend getting the Tailor Shapes instead of the Inktense. I'm glad you liked the music 🐱 Have a nice weekend 🌺

Hi Gabriella, I love your comparison videos. This was very informative and interesting. I really like the depth on the art graf painting but when it came to using the mediums dry, Inktense was my favorite. Thank you!! - Melissa

Well worth doing this comparison, thank you. I much prefer Intense., it's a clear winner for me.I bought a set of 12 a few months ago, I love them. The other two were seemed a little flat and the last one looked very drab.

Yup…I really enjoyed this one too. I considered those cretacolor blocks, but came to the same conclusion & don’t see the need for me w/those. I don’t think I can pic a fave from the inktense vs Artgraf paintings. They both came out rich, with lots of depth. I wonder if adding the new magenta & green blocks would increase your enjoyment of color mixing with those artgraf? The lazy red head channel uses these and has several videos about the , one I remember showing her color mixes. I love them both along with the inktense, graphitint & charcoal xl blocks. All different but so fun. So looking forward to the watercolor + blocks video. Thanks so much for sharing your paintings & thoughts here Gabriella. Hope you are well, take care. 👋💜👋

*SIGH* I feel like I have given Inktense a good solid workout and I just. don't. like them. I see how they have many attractive qualities, and I am ALWAYS urging people to use them on black paper, because they are so opaque. But for me, I just don't like them - mainly their texture, that chalkiness. On the other hand, I adore the Viarco! As you said, they both have truly unique qualities, and they are not at all the same. They are certainly both gouache-like, and both of them show up quite well on black paper. I just love the smoothness of Viarco and the fact that they don't get backruns. They do have limitations - or at any rate, differences - compared to watercolor, and yes it's a limited palette. But for whatever reason, I enjoy working with those limitations. I have never seen those Cretacolor blocks. Very interesting comparison among the three!

I do love a shroom. I have the inktense pencils but not used them yet but am tempted to get some of the blocks. Is there any way you’d ever do a tutorial on how to paint the mushrooms? I ask cos they’re beautiful ❤

I had heard so many mixed reviews that when I got the inktense blocks recently I was amazed at how much I liked them! They’re great, and so versatile.
The inktense paint pans on the other hand…. Too chalky for me.

Hi, thank you for commenting ☺️ yes, I agree about the Inktense blocks, they are amazing 😍 I wish more people gave them a try. There's not too many process videos about them here on RUclips, mostly swatching and unboxing. I want to make some speedpaints in the near future. 🌸

I own the Art Graf and the Inktense blocks but I really do not like the Inktense because they only work well with very expensive paper. The Art Graf work very well on cheap paper too. I really regret buying the Inktense blocks. I wish the Art Graf would bring out more colors though. I do not know the Cretacolor Briques and I wonder on which paper they would act the smoothest? Thank you for your informative videos!

That was awesome, thank you! When you do the impasto effect, do those portions remain permanent?
    Which is your favourite?
With all of them drying matte, would you varnish these media?

Hi, thanks for commenting. I would say Inktense is both my favorite and most permanent. I use Renesans fixative spray on everything I draw or paint though.
