    Querido Luca. Ayer llegó a casa tu "10 Regole essenziali..."

    Listening and reading at the same time is an absolute game changer! At first, I weirdly felt like I was cheating (may it be your fault, school system?), but then I realised just how many new words were sticking with me. It's mind-blowing! As always, great video Luca😎

      I think it's not too good to sharpen your listening skills if you're reading the transcription of whatever content you're whatching to. (I mean, at least for me, it works this way. I just started to see progress once I started only listening without any extra aid to rely on.)

      @@CrispoXofc sorry to hear that it didn’t work out for you. As for me, it helped me so much when I started learning Mandarin and I still love reading and listening at the same time whenever possible in any language, for example church music in Arabic.

    a few factors end up being important for this to work well: audio should be clean and easy to hear without sound effects or unusual voice acting. phrases should be cleanly deliniated. content should be interesting. vocabulary should not be too advanced unless you are willing to return to the same next many days.
    in other words it's a bit too much to learn vocabularly and struggle to parse the audio, and can be very fatiguing if the pronunciation is at the outer edges of what is acceptable to native speakers.
    the other factor is patience, if the language is distant it takes a very long time to build up intuition for what words could mean, on the order of years. it can be enjoyable to go through that process and there are many breakthroughs along the way, but it's not something to suffer through if you think competence is just around the corner. I find that if I am tired I can't enjoy or understand my second language, but besides that it has been rewarding to watch a show or read a story and understand it well.

    Why does my English get worse when speaking to non-fluent people and better with natvie speakers? Do you have a video about or could you make one?

    • @LucaLampariello
      @LucaLampariello  3 дня назад +1

      It is a psychological thing. When you speak with native speakers you are more self-conscious of your languages skills. And that's an interesting idea for a new video so thanks for that!

    That’s a good point. The utility of doing them at the same time may vary based on what level you are at. At the beginner and intermediate level I tend to try solo listening a few times first and then doing it at the same times.
