My first husband was detained in 1995 within 10 days of our marriage. I went to college. He got up to work. And he was disappeared! I was pulled out of class. I was about 4 months pregnant at the time, too. Within 10 more days of that, he was gone. The process was sped up in his case for an unknown reason. We were working hard on getting him home, getting all the right papers. That's all we could figure. I wrote the president too. But nothing could help. No one helped. No one cared. I raised my daughter without him. He grew hatred against me as if I did this. I couldn't stop it. But I am not the government. I am not the process. He did this to himself in the end. He did lie to me about his past and criminal proceedings against him, his age, and his status. If I had known, I would not have filed specific paths to citizenship for him. I would have gone a different legal path for him.
