I still have yet to really dive into their discography because most of their other songs haven’t really hit me yet. However, their live shows look insane!
My favorite is actually the Agony and Ecstasy of Watain. It just clicks with me in a way the others haven't. You've also talked me into listening to Sworn to the Dark more.

Lawless Darkness is my favourite, it's such a great album all the way through. I enjoy the Wild Hunt too but mainly for 'They Rode on', that song comes out of nowhere and is incredible. It could easily have been a bonus track, but instead very middle of the album. Still need to listen to the latest album
I quiet agree with everything you said, except for The Wild Hunt, that I put quiet high in the ranking (let's say 4, behind Lawless Darkness, The Agony & Ecstasy and Swarn to the Dark). It is some different Watain for sure, but I love it though, all that beauty, and that colder wickedness ... Perfect peak when I'm not sure whether I need Pink Floyd's Animals or Marduk's Frontshwein.

Rabid Death's Curse Sworn to the Dark and all the bands above it have been ranked by extremely slim margins. Sworn to the Dark is one of my favorite albums ever, it's just that Watain's albums are *really* fucking good. This is especially true for Casus Luciferi. I LOVED that album, but Watain is just the goat for me currently. I recently changed how I listen to music (listening to albums in order as opposed to random mixes that I'm not paying attention to), and Watain is the first band I've done that for. I've realized that I really like a focus on guitar with quieter drums; hence Rabid Death's Curse being so low. The drums were too aggressive for my liking; I like intensity, not aggression. EDIT: "They Rode On" is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever listened to; it's what put The Wild Hunt above Trident Wolf Eclipse.

The wild hunt is amazing. It takes years to get into it. It was my least favourite but just recently I came to a conclusion that it might actually be the best one.

I bought agony and ecstasy randomly in a cd store from where I'm from, I thought it was a really nice album and probably a top 50 of 2022, as for everything else... I always never gave a fuck about watain, infact when I got into Black Metal I somehow got Watain confused with Marduk (I don't know how I did confuse them to be honest)

Waters of ain is such a godly good song. The live version from Opus Diaboli is amazing.
