  • As you can see the ground wasn't quite dry enough for a complete tilling, but we still managed to get a few beans planted.

    I'll definitely wait until the ground is thoroughly dry before tilling again lol. But it was time to get something in the ground so I did what I had to do lol. Thanks for watching!

      But not bone dry...should mention. All the fine powder you make ends up turning the top rock hard, not to mention some of it blows away

    The only video I've ever watched where the music is calming and pleasant and not distracting and annoying, or totally boring and unbearable. Thanks for your great choice of music, and for the helpful gardening advice!! Can you share the name of that tune? It's lovely! And your little girl is soooo precious!!!!!

    I'm currently tilling my first garden! It rains almost everyday so the ground doesn't dry too well. I thought I was doing something wrong with the tiller because of how difficult it is I'm glad it's not just me lol 😂

    All kids: "I wanna help!"
    All kids 10 seconds into waiting for the action: "Im bored. You do it, so I can run off and be back in 10 minutes or less to restart the whole cycle."

    Hey so we are doing our first garden, my question is do you have to pull the grass remains and roots out the best you can before making the rows to plant the seeds? Or do you just leave everything in the dirt besides big rocks and stuff

    • @Hatfield_Country
      @Hatfield_Country  Год назад +2

      I usually lay a tarp down for a few weeks to kill any grass or vegetation and then till.

      @AscheOfTheLake 2 месяца назад

      I just till in the stuff on top, it'll decompose, and be compost.

    Hey friend how often should one till a year

    • @Hatfield_Country
      @Hatfield_Country  2 года назад +2

      I till once in the spring and during the growing season I cultivate with a wheel hoe to keep weeds in check. Then in the fall I pull all the plants and till again before I plant a cover crop.

      @@AscheOfTheLake I mostly use winter rye, but this past fall I also planted crimson clover.
