"I'm serious as cancer when i say rhythm is a dancer!" legendary lol, the amount of partying i did to this banger, looking back i was way too young lol, but some of my best memories are associated with this classic, love it.
I feel blessed every time I hear nostalgic 90's dance classics - SO grateful to have lived my youth in those days, so many great memories to last a lifetime ❤❤❤
Hi Dereck! Thanks for your react on Snap. This song "Rhythm Is A Dancer" was released on March 30, 1992 as the second single from their second album "The Madman'S Return" ranked no.1 for 6 consecutive weeks in the TOP 50 and certified gold for more than 250,000 copies sold. It also needed worldwide success, particularly in the United States (no.5 on the Bilboard Hot 100 and certified gold) and even in Europe. The music video was directed by Howard Greenhalgh and filmed in Florida in July 1992. It shows the two singers especially Turbo B playing bass guitar in the smoke-filled Rocket Garden performing the song on elevated platforms in the company of dancers standing on an enclosed floor platform below them thus balancing their dance moves. The clip is also intercut with scenes showing animated planes of aviation charts and animated characters miming their dance. This is the last time the two singers will appear in the video before they left the group. For the same band, their other huge hit: "The Power" (1990). Thanks for your great job our American mate. 👍🇫🇷
You said it ! This song is gold, pure gold !! I remember listening to it on repeat in '92 and '93 too ^^ What a timeless gem... Easily a top 5 of mine from this specific era.
Yeah nice, you're right, it's definitely 90's gold!! What a classic, been on my playlist since it came out in the 90's along with other Snap greats like "power" "oops up" and "Mary had a little boy"
Although it might sound ridiculous: it’s music history, it was a revolution bringing electronic music to the „common“ radio stations and dancefloors! This track was and still is a dance sensation!
Thanks Dereck! I'm a huge fan of Mylène Farmer, since I was 4 years old (1987)!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 But I'm also big fan of 90's "Eurodance" like 2Unlimited, Snap, Corona, Labouche, Culture Beat, etc... 🥰🥰🥰
Great reaction, as always, Dereck. There was a special radio edit of this song that kept the rap section out so adult contemporary stations could play the song. Of course, in the club, we always heard the version with the rap section. Peace!
I was stuck on a 6 hour train journey in 1992 with my walkman and this song on a cassette single - I had accidentally left the other tapes at home. A great song but after that journey I never want to hear it again 😂
CULT and ICONIC song from the 90's. Great memories of college (8th Grade) at the time of its release and the summer hit of 1992. We heard it everywhere at parties, discos and especially ferias. It played over and over again, especially on the radios (just like the CLIP on the TV channels, also EMBLEMATIC for the time), I hadn't bought the 2-track CD or the single cassette but I remember having recorded it on a Type II chrome cassette for better sound reproduction (CD quality) on NRJ (radio for teenagers) and the sound is still intact! Musically, it looks like it was recorded in 1990 and not 1992. In any case, it remains a "classic" dance of this decade. Thanks to the Patreon member for this great choice! 👍 More "dance music" reacts on Dereck's channel!
If you ever stumble upon this comment... You are true and honest in your reaction. And that's refreshing. That said, here are some absolute bangers if you don't know them already. ABC - the look of love Bananarama - cruel summer Shannon - let the music play Grandmaster flash - white line ... You are most welcome.
The song "Rhythm Is A Dancer" is based on the early 80s song Auto-Man by Newcleus with its main melody Snap!'s logo, the snapping hand, is also a copy of the logo of the American label Stax Records, on which acts such as Otis Redding, Isaac Hayes and the BarKays appeared in the 1970s. Snap!'s first track and number one hit, "The Power" is a plagiarism. The song contains unauthorized elements from the drum loop from King of the Beats by Mantronix, the rap Let the Words Flow by Chill Rob G and the classic line I've Got the Power from Love's Gonna Get You by Jocelyn Brown.
Rapping: Done by bro stationed in WGer. The song was made in Germany - but broke the mold bc no prior EuroDanceMusic incorporated rap. 80s🔥. Arranging done in '91 but the song was totally influenced by an 80s song. Look it up.
WOW! The entire album contains plenty of pretty gems like this ( like " the power " ). In the evenings in the club "LE PALACE" in Paris, Rhythm is a dancer "passed several times! what a beautiful time !!! As I've told you in the past, you're so much more handsome and sexier without the cap you're hiding under (but that's just my opinion) Peace
i realy like your video's Dereck but i have a request i don't know if you know jean michel jarre ? this man his music is awsome and he is very famous all over the world, i really would like to see a video from this man ....thanx 😉
Pet Shop Boys love the concept of this video ( the androginous outfits and tech style) and use in fact the same video director ( Howard Greenelagh) for the whole VERY album videos.
Another great reaction videos,,,you are living wrong decade you would of loved clubbing 1990s ,,best time ever first up last down ,,,,bodys screwed now but worth it amazing music play the prodigy any love all
Truly80s sound & song that spilled into '92. Nothing 90sGenX about this smash-hit, all-time dance song. The creators of this song were influenced by 70s/80s music, hence the 🔥 80s sound & vibe.
I agree on minute 7:51 it ain't coming back cause they don't make these synteziser beats no more in this way. I miss Snap, 2Unlimited, Culture beat, Cappella
When German producers meet US Turbo B rap singer that done one of the greatest Eurodance song. Play it louuuud!!!! 😊❤❤❤❤
The BEST eurodance club anthem
Early to mid 90s was such a fun era for club music. Lots of euro and euro-Influenced bangers that just slapped.
Slapped bc the sound/vibe/hooks for some of their songs were stolen or copied from the 70s/80s. #Boomer🔥
💃💃there should be clubs just playing these legendary hits from 80-90s , imagine what a night you'd have !
The music intro is so epic ! Reminds me good memories of my youth….
Best Eurodance song of all time.
"I'm serious as cancer when i say rhythm is a dancer!" legendary lol, the amount of partying i did to this banger, looking back i was way too young lol, but some of my best memories are associated with this classic, love it.
Another great 90s Europop song from around the same time is "Dr. Alban - It's My Life".
Dr Alban - no coke and also Dr Alban Hello Africa are bangers
A classic ! Timeless ! 🔥🔥🔥👌🙋
"Mr Vain" with Culture Beat is up there too! A must-react!
Yes please! I'm not even into dance music, but these 2 songs made the 90s!
I agree. Loud too 😊
Mr Vain by Culture Beat is their best! Viva dance music forever! 🥳❤✌

Great choice and great reaction for this little gem (of which that album is full like " THE POWER ")!
Eurodance early in the 90s was the best for dancing and having fun.
I remember listening to this song over and over again, it's still magical, love this and your reaction❤❤🙏🙏
I preferred I've got the power 👍🏻 another great dance track sampling Rose Royce was S Express by S Express 👍🏻👍🏻
Yeeeees, MAGIC!!!!!!
