    Heh. In 1946 the average newsreel viewer, upon hearing the name "Wernher von Braun", would have said, "who?".
    By the way, it's interesting that the newsreel describes this as a "trip to the upper stratosphere". These days people might think of 65 miles up as being on the verge of space, but here "space" is never mentioned.

      The camera was in a hardened case, and just came down with the rocket, in a crash. They dug the box out of the wreck, and the camera survived. Normally the experiments were carried in the nosecone (where the weapons went). But I think the camera was mounted in the mid-section to get a better view. My father worked on this. It was done by the High Altitude Research Group at APL. 18 people led by James Van Allen.

      Well you can't even spell it right and no not all lenses are made with curvature but even if true you miss the bigger picture. kids everywhere in the world now can send up cameras and photograph the earth from 100 thousand feet. Yes some of those cams have curvature but it is immaterial because Those cameras all show two things every time. The first is that none of the cameras are ever closer to the edge than any other. Why one in Africa is no closer to the edge than another! The second is that the horizon is ALWAYS equidistant around 360 degrees of the whole video or photographs. Do you know what those two things mean? It means the earth can ONLY be a sphere.

    • @GuillermoSTD
      @GuillermoSTD 5 лет назад +7

      Obviously you laugh because you're clueless. Although V2 rockets could theoretically reach heights of around 200 Km, that's still less than 3% of earth's radius, so of course the horizon would still look kind of flat in a blurry, hyper-compressed video.
      But what he meant with 'the curvature of the planet is astonishingly apparent' is simply that at that altitude you can clearly see that the horizon is sharply contrasted against space, and it's still relatively 'close' as you can only see North America (so in the order of hundreds of miles), and it's equally far in all directions as it is a perfect circle centered on the viewer.
      Of course, in a dumb flatearther's idea of earth, at that altitude way above the clouds you would necessarily have to see way, way farther into the distance, up to the so-called 'ice wall' that's supposed to mark the edge.

    • @GuillermoSTD
      @GuillermoSTD 5 лет назад +2

      @Anthony Reeder yes, how dumb, because as I explained in my previous post he's making comments based on this blurry videeo, when of course the original footage was much sharper. If he (and you) took his thumb out of his ass for a bit and bothered to look at a decent version of that old picture, like so: cosmos-magazine.imgix.net/file/spina/photo/12446/171024-1stSpace-Full.jpg?fit=clip&w=835 , you'd see that the horizon *is* indeed curved, even if it's not apparent. You only need a graphics editor to draw a straight line and see that yes, indeed it's slightly round.
      Also, as I also explained, you can clearly see another much more obvious sign of the curvature of earth in the form of the horizon being exactly where predicted based on a globe earth: the photo was taken at an altitude of 65 miles and the horizon is at 720 miles... exactly as predicted by the globe model. If earth were flat, the horizon would not be anywhere near what you see in that photo: you would the entire planet at once - and in fact from a much lower altititude already - making this the first unequivocal picture of earth that proved that it is in fact an spheroid as early as 1948... which only confirmed what some people new thousands of years ago, making current-day flat-earthers the dumbest people on this round planet.

    Exactly. There is ZERO curvature shown anywhere in this video. They show a slanted view of the “earth” and claim there is curvature however , get a ruler and place it on this so called curvature and it’s 100% flat. You can fool a lot of the people most of the time but you’ll NEVER fool all of the people all of the time.

      The 'curvature' in this footage isn't very convincing at all.
      However, there is other footage from other V-2 launches, that does show a good amount of curvature.
      Here's some.

(3) finally , (and to which totally debunks earth curvature) look up the Black swan picture which supports ZERO curvature 100% from logical and mathematical conclusions. The globe story is dead. You're the one who's being manipulated here. Space travel is possible and has taken place many times, you cannot make up satellite connections, nor can you make up satellite imagery.
      Oh god now I see. Nuclear weapons don't even exist....... Right. You're a nutcase, you're talking to someone who believes the CIA is bringing tons of cocaine and heroin into the US to finance covert operations and infuse the economy with cash, and who believes live aliens have been interrogated by the US government. I believe it because I saw the evidence for it.
      Tell me, what evidence is there that nuclear weapons don't exist ? Do you believe all nuclear testing was faked ? Are you aware that it is physically impossible as the isotopes produced by the reaction are traceable and quantifiable and therefore unfalsifiable ?
      What about the people who measure earthquakes and who all measured the effects of nuclear testing ?
      What about the nuclear stations that produce your energy ? What about Chernobyl ? What about Fukushima ?
      Who told you this complete and utter bullshit ?
