I love it how he thinks the Spanish labels on the box are an alternative word of french and pronounces them with a french accent because he sounds just like my french uncle when he visits us in Mexico

I REALLY want this figure for my collection. This version of Prime is so AMAZING. I loved the series Transformers: Prime and he was a bad-ass.
I want a Leader Class Optimus, but this one looks SO DAMN GOOD! I'm about to start up my transformers collection

@optibotimus I have seen every episode about 4 times. I know how the scale should be but i just think that every figure deserves to have its own leader class version. Because the leaders usually have most of the playability. Like keep the few leaders,voyagers and deluxes that are in scale on the shelf. And play with the leader versions of the smaller guys. As for the in-scale leaders use their voyager and deluxe form to play with. BTW thanks for the info on Skyquake. Can't wait!

The legs are rather fiddly in vehicle mode with both versions and you have to pull and tug a bit to straighten them out so all of the wheels rest on the ground and the rear half is actually straightened out visually. You might want to actually glue the smoke stacks in place so they stay put, but that's just a suggestion. I agree regarding the sword and gun and I think using them to create custom weapons that corrects the issues would be beneficial to the figure (should have 2 of each anyway).
As a hardcore collector with over 1000 figures, I must say this figure is in my top five all time greatest list. The clear version is even nicer.

Nice review! You did a far better job than me in showing the interior cab detail, then again, you have better lighting and a better camera :P. I cannot wait to see your take on Bulkhead!
I got my first edition today and regarding the head, mine wasn't on properly. It actually popped off when I tried to make him look upwards, and that's when I saw that the head needed to be pushed forward towards the chest (quite hard as well) in order for it to snap on properly. It now has good motion all directions.
Remember when optibotimus' videos weren't 45 mins. long for a smaller figure?
Y'know, I wonder if Peter Cullen ever collects any Optimus Prime memorabilia. He takes the character very seriously, and as I understand, it's his favorite role to play. It would be humbling to think that he sometimes gets these toys and displays them like trophies.

Bulkheads figure rocks so hard. The FE is by far the best representation of the big lug ever made. A shame the line got cancelled. These deserve a re-release. At least APC knows these are sought after figures.
The head is on a proper ball joint but it was not snapped completely into place during assembly. If you remove the back of the head, you can snap the ball joint into the socket and it provides much better articulation, up, down etc.
After many long years I finally found one at a vintage stock for a good price with the box !!
I believe that essentially means it has all the things it's supposed to have. This is one of the top 10 figures I want but my goodness is it hard to find one that's not astronomically way too expensive.

Is it too overpriced of i get the sdcc 2011 matrix of leadership edition for about 50 bucks?
If you dislike the looking from the side of the gun and blade so much, turn the wrist outward then put in the weapons, it's show accurate and looks way better.

I know, but that is how proper collector's work. They give their honest opinions; but i was surprised that he actually liked this one for real.
the steering wheel inside PRIME is amazing you can get a mini figure and put him inside while prime is walking
Believe it or not, it's the head that causes the roof to not lock in place, because it hinders the lower legs from resting at the correct angle;
All you have to do is unscrew the head, pop off the front half, properly lock the rear half into the ball portion of the joint, then put it back together.
The procedure fixes the head articulation and the raised roof.

I’m noticing a lot of similarities with the DOTM voyager Optimus in terms of the transformation. I’m really mad I missed out on this because they’re going for $150 or more on Amazon now.

OK, I've been considering getting one Optimus Prime figure, since I honestly never owned any version of OP before. Seriously. I honestly was considering the Beast Hunters version (I'm on the fence, but am generally unimpressed with the new look and the green) and the First Edition combo pack with Megatron (which you said Megs was impressive, but OP was not), but after seeing this review, I'm disregarding both of those previous options and going for THIS First Edition. Thanks, Optibotimus!

Voyager Class Optimus Prime is a very cool figure robot mode is awesome and i think hasbro should make more reapiant figure for this Optimus Prime.

What camera do you use because the video quality is amazing, the picture is always smooth, sound is crisp and clear and colours are always vibrant :) always a pleasure to watch your videos paul :)
The smokestacks are just fine
If you repainted this figure to look more life like and more detailed, this would be what a live action Optimus should be.
You actually have to put the gun sideways by rotating the fist so the angled bit of the gun matches with the angle of the arm panels and it is fully accurate to the show and also the indian version has hard rubber blades and smokestaks

Optibotimus: Have you thought of using some simple clear casting resin to help harden the soft rubbery stuff? It's very simple to use, takes a little while to dry, but does a great job making this solid.
Haha the awkward moment when Optibotimus has a better french accent then me takes french in school xD
Oh and you can replace the soft rubber with the Shapeways kit.

They're regular voyager price at retail, $29.99. Unfortunately, they're damn near impossible to find since they were bought up to send down to American TFP fans.

@ optibotimus FIXING THE GAP ABOVE WINDSHIELD IN TRUCK MODE!! I have two of these figures and the problem is actually because the head is not connected to the ball joint properly. Unscrew the head piece and make sure that it is actually connected properly. when connected properly, it moves the head forward slightly allowing the panel to turn under a little further allowing the top of the truck/feet to become flush with the windshield lights and adding several degrees more of head articulation.
This is just an amazing figure, I only collect RID figures, but I love this so much that I might get it!

Excellent review! The sellers of this figure should be ashamed of themselves. My niece has.all of them exept this one and she really wants it, but 200 for a Transformer is ridiculous. Its fine for people that has money to throw around, but most people wont be able to get this figure and that is a shame.

The blade is actually screen accurate. Looks bad and "wrong", but screen accurate. I fully intend to just drop it in a spare-parts bin, myself.

Good review, I'm surprise you haven't mention 1 knit pick, that is you have painted wheels on the Deluxe Optimus Prime, & no painted wheels on the voyager which supposed to have more & better detail than a deluxe. Bugs me having to pay extra money to get the voyager and not having same painted wheels that the deluxe version has.
Multi colored Sharpies are a TF collectors best friend. Especially a silver one. Just be cautious, use tape to cover areas you don't want touched up. If you take your time, it can come out looking amazing.

thank god i live in asia, we got these toys 2 months ago. We still hv Prime and Bumblebee in bulk but sold out Bulkhead, Arcee and Cliffjumper...Starscream almost sold out as well...

oh man i just got mine and just transformers him for the first time and the whole pannel near the windows and the top half of the doors arnt painted but i cant complain too much he has a number of improvements the top pannels of the truck do stay tabed down way eaiser on the newer one and he has a harder sword
Got mine ordered from bbts. It's the newer one where it has the brown on it but that's ok. I'll mostly keep it in robot mode anyways.
they probably blew out all their budget in the interior instead of using it on the parts and making them nice and secure

I would say it's an improvement, rather than a upscale of the deluxe. Because it just looks and scales better than the deluxe. Although I wish the roof would properly click down. and if hasbro don't release a trailer then it's a needless tease

i have the RiD version it is way more acurate and the windshield is not fake in vehicle mode
