Hello Chris! Did you manage to get your gauges working through the screen? I want to do this in my evo but I have a few gauges that I don’t want to lose. Let me know, thanks! Great install video
im going to be doing this to my evo very soon, but that is NOT how you guys should be splicing wire. butt splices/soldering with heat shrink or raychem over the wiring is the correct way. imagine if an electrician walked into your house and just started wrapping wires together and wrapped electrical tape over them and said...ok you're good. you'd raise an eyebrow like wtf?!
TBH this all depends man there are sooo many ways to splice.. This is always open for debate.. the thing with soldering is your making something solid so vibration can cause issues.. I've done this for several cars for more than 8 years and still my cars are good and haven't had any issues.
I'm trying to do mine. Honda odyssey 2010 harness with that same radio .and I am so close I have sound only on the left side of my car only 😒 and the radio doesn't have signal what should I do ? Help
I really need help I have a 2005 Scion TC and the instructions on the wiring part are vague. I'm a visual learner a video helps a lot. I'm doing this myself to teach myself how to do this. But I'm lost at how to install the wire part especially where the factory Harness and wires fit in ? Can you help me out ?
Hey idk how you routed the black cable after you cut those holes I did what you did but my shit keeps on binding up and can’t move Also the hvac unit doesn’t sit out far enough to fit in the new cap trim piece that came in the kit. Any help would be great man
Hey bro! I did this a long time ago I really don't remember I remember having issues with the HVAC cables but after messing with it it finally worked out. Lmk if you have any other specific questions.
@@theonlyonez9071 I don't understand your question.. Usually to install a double din you just need the kit and it should come with everything you need. In my case for the evo I had to buy the double din kit which included the panel for the dash and the cables.. I also relocated my ac unit but it all depends on the car.
@Christopher Goorbarry what I meant to say did you have to buy another radio antenna to be able to listen to the radio? Or did you just wire it and it automatically detects local radio stations
Christopher, Check out Autosport Labs - RaceCapture/Pro MK3 product. It is app based and can read the outputs from the ECU, which for the Evo 9 is not much because it is not a canbus system like the Evo 10. But the best part is that you can connect up to 8 analog sensors to be able to read out on the app. I think the current gauge's sensors you have can be used to give data to be read on screen. LOL. You reealy dont need an on/off switch just pay $9 for a bypass harness. Im unsure why anyone would need to turn this feature on and off quite frankly. If you dont wanna mess with your stereo whilst driving just dont but you should as least have that option.

What’s the background music? Really nice beat.
I have this same radio. I got it mainly because it looks very simple and OEM. I love it.
LordXaero exactly! So far I love it. Simple to use and works great.
NRG quick release? nice, love mine. picking up the MVH for my 04 Subaru, can't wait for a nice, simple look

Tbh the splices are fine
Did you have to put a spacer behind the hvac unit for it to line up with the knob trim?
Mine isn’t fitting like yours for some reason
Great install vid. Where did you relocate your 3 gauges?
Aaron Cheong I haven’t yet I’m looking to integrate all the gauges into the radio with idatalink pro
What’s up bro?? What did you do with the vaccum hose?
Thank you for the video.. Instead the use that swish why you don’t ground the parking cable?????
Héctor Tarraza so the light on the dash doesn’t stay on or off. The brake light.
Héctor Tarraza also pioneer requires you to basically unground and ground. Pull the e brake and put it back on.
Where did you get the wire harness ? The one that doesnt come in the box
Hey whats up, what kind of harness did you put for the stereo?? Or where did you get it from thanks!
Looking good man... if you plug the gauges into the radio please do a how to... 👍👍
damiansredevo05 will do!

Christopher Goorbarry that’s amazing! Nice subscriber and what do you need for the double din be able to listen to radio?

So how do you guys know what color to splice with the OEM harness and the headunit harness?
Not sure if I understand your question. But color to color they match.
wires are already spliced. . pull the shielding off the wire.
How much would this cost to be done on my car?
Honestly you could do about 80% of the work yourself

The h/vac relocation pissed me off!! Weird how your lower part fits and has slack on the cables. Mine has a gap.. need to find a way to fix that
Fuck this is now $480 on Amazon!?
it goes up and down man!
As a mechnaical engineer with electronics experience, I have to say, the instructions for this device is terrible.
Looks like waaaaaay to much work for what you get out of it.
