It was Chiefs defense that made them great in early-mid 90s. Derrick Thomas was like "Michael Jordan" in my hometown of KC. Got meet him when I was 16, in 1994...(Spring.)
@@erikbunty2016 He never had that next-level QB in their PRIME that now after 30 years we know a team HAS TO HAVE to win SB. Case and point..look at Pats this year. No Brady, Pats have won like idk how many AFC East Titles in a row. Anyways, Patriots(2-4)
Given who the Chiefs lost from the '93 team (Nick Lowery, Albert Lewis, and Kevin Ross), they actually did an impressive job continuing the playoff streak considering the Chiefs have had better teams miss the playoffs.
This team didn't quite have the magic of the 1993 team. Montana could still play pretty well, though. It was a solid final season for him. It's weird that next year they went 13-3 with Steve Bono at QB.
He liked that saying. He was full of cliches. Unfortunately for his players, none of his teams ever made a Super Bowl off his cliches. When it mattered, 13 of 18 playoff games coached by Marty ended in a loss. In most of those playoff games, Cle, KC or SD was favored and/or had home-field advantage. Such was Marty Ball.
True. On the other hand Young must have breathed a sigh of relief when two fourth quarter turnovers prevented the Chiefs from coming back against the Dolphins in the playoffs.
The Chiefs matched up against the 49ers so much better than the Chargers did. If only the Chiefs hadn't choked in the playoffs, football fans would not have had to suffer through yet another lop-sided Super Bowl.
I still get choked up watching Marty’s speeches. They’ll never get old.
Joe montana and marcus allen did very well in their last days with the chiefs.
The final season of the legend Joe Montana
Look at that Chiefs offensive-line. Wow...one best lines in NFL history.

I love me some vintage Marty motivational soundbytes! Thanks for the upload👏👍

Game @DEN, TOP5 fav Chiefs win.
DT baby. Me my friends got meet him in 1994.
Brings back a lot of memories as a kid growing up in KC.
I'll fight some1 who has anything negative say about Marty.
He MADE THE Chiefs what they are in modern era.
A lot of great memories from Marty
He made the Chiefs relevant again, just couldn't win the big one.

1994 was the start of a new era- natural grass at Arrowhead (after 20+ years of turf) and a new radio voice
These my fav Chiefs teams. Honestly better overall teams than 2018-20 Chiefs. Just didn't have a next-level QB in their PRIME.
Given who the Chiefs lost from the '93 team (Nick Lowery, Albert Lewis, and Kevin Ross), they actually did an impressive job continuing the playoff streak considering the Chiefs have had better teams miss the playoffs.
Man, Chiefs may had greatest offensive line ever in early-mid 90s. Def no doubt top3.
DeBerg play action 75yd td to JJ Birden. 1991
Miss you Derrick
#58- still love you after all these years!
The guy was so great on defense

The music at 4:00, "Motivate" by Peter Fallowell, was the same music used in Little Hardhats' "House Construction Ahead".

Marty was too conservative in the playoffs, he always played not to lose, he was stubborn and would never change.
Poor Steve Young. Deep down he had to have been fuming over that loss to the Chiefs.
SingleTax I don't think he was bothered about the loss to Montana's Chiefs after the season was over

Steve young won a Superbowl with the 49ers after Joe Montana left.
Another great video!

SingleTax Montana was taken out with a concussion near the end zone.. In came Steve bono I think it was and they lost to the bills
"Montana Magic"
Never could get it done when it mattered most.
They did last week and now they are at Arrowhead for the AFC championship game against the Pats!
