(In 1991, German anti-drug activists Brigitte Berendonk and Werner Franke, were able to save several doctoral theses and other documents written by scientists working for the East German drug research programme. The documents list the dosage and timetables for the administration of anabolic steroids to many athletes of the former DDR, with one of them being Marita Koch. According to the sources, Koch did use the anabolic steroid Oral-Turinabol from 1981 to 1984 with dosages ranging from 530 to 1460 mg/year.)
      2) In 2000 she fled Sydney claiming that she was in fear for her life following a security incident at her hotel. Marie Jose Perec time of 48.25 should have been the world record instead of the East German Marita Koch, whose time of 47.60 set in 1985 is very much tainted in controversy, due in part to the lax testing from doping.

Avec cet AJUSTEMENT ESSENTIEL en athlétisme et oublié par tous les entraineurs qui se sont succédé, ainsi que son relâchement avant la ligne, l'ont empêché de BATTRE sur cette course le record du monde... @@dmvbay2535 In 1995, Cathy Freeman went full machine and broke in the last 100 meters finishing fourth when Perec won back her World title. It set the momentum between both, one has to go at the limit of collapsing to try to equal the other one. As for Perec, even back in 1992 when she was still a 'chicken leg' with only one world title, still training in France, she was able to break the 49s limit something Freeman was never able to pull in her career. There is nothing surprising in a Perec hitting her prime surpassing young performance, however we can wonder how Freeman was able to maintain that rhythm until the end while pulling a performance she would never match... In the end she had the run of her life but was opposed as someone in a class on her own.

      The longer the limb, the less leverage. It's a trade off. If what you say were true, every Olympic and World Championship final would be full of incredibly tall competitors. It's not true, though. Speed is about stride length and stride frequency. Stride length is about limb length but also power that propels you through the air on every stride. It's a lot harder to express that power at the end of a long limb. It's a trade off.
      Having longer limbs also decreases stride frequency.
      All the athletes have to be dramatically strong and explosive.

    • @pukulu
      @pukulu 3 года назад

      @@efisgpr That's a very rational argument. There are examples of long striding runners with relatively short legs. The 2 I'm thinking about are Kenenisa Bekele and Augustine Choge. Of course there are many others. Michael Johnson had long enough legs but a short stride but he was very fast anyway because his leg turnover was very fast.

      Fue una estrategia diferente ambas Cathy Freeman (que queda segunda) atacaron la curva desde atrás y se dieron hombro a hombro desde el metro 320 y ya no tenían gasolina ambas solo soportaron la caída de la velocidad 😅...
      Para mí la carrera se la llevó Cathy Freeman a pesar de ser #2 lugar empujo increíblemente a Perec a hacer ese 48.25... y fue la que tomo el liderazgo de la carrera... Aquí la bronca es que Perec tenía más resistencia a la caída de velocidad 😢
