My question to Al Mohler would be: Why do evangelical churches allow women to ask questions in church, despite the clear prohibition in 1 Corinthians 14:34-35? God bless all our women in the churches!
About 40min into this now. I imagine that Al knows this but he misspoke when he said Scripture is clear that God doesn't allow a woman to "preach". Scripture actually says "teach". It's "didasko" and not "kerusso" there. (1st Tim. 2:12) Now, again, just to be clear. When one is preaching they are teaching. So CONTEXT matters and the context of 1st Tim. 2 is wrt a church setting. Where a woman would be teaching in authority over a man. Not necessarily say as a woman "preaching" to a group of women on Tit. 2:3-5, for example. Though I would add that even in that case it should be done under the headship of an Elder.
20min in and finally getting to some questions. Then Al completely blows the first one. The idea and belief that Faith is a gift in Eph. 2:8 has been thorough refuted long ago. The "gift" being spoken of there is Salvation and it comes BY Grace THRU Faith. The very definition of Faith being Belief/Trust defies it from being a gift. It is impossible to gift one Belief or Trust. And it is this foolishness that brings up a huge dilemma for me. How can a wonderful man of God, and one of such intellect, be SO BLIND to such an elementary understanding of God's Word.

Faith is NOT a "gift" from God and that is NOT what Eph. 2:8 is saying. It VERY SAD to see that SO MANY still hold to that false belief and that Al is still upholding it. This has been thoroughly brought out by many but Mike Winger, in his video on the passage perhaps does it best by breaking down that grammatical construction from the Greek. Aside from that, the very definition of the word Faith refutes the idea that Faith can be a gift. Faith is "belief in action" or "Trust". NOBODY, including God, can give someone "belief in action" or "Trust". That is something that is inherently possessive and MUST be done by the one who has it. And it the one who exercises Faith that pleases God.
