Whats crazy about this? Alot of younger Laker fans only remember Divac as the dude we traded for one of the greatest of all time. (NO BRAINER, RIP KOBE.) He was a huge part of Laker success when he was on our team and a pain in our asses when he played for a GREAT Sacramento team. Much respect man.
Magic was well past his prime, as well. Compared to say … 8 years earlier … he is stiffer, heavier and not as fast. So it’s a real tribute to his mental toughness they got to the finals … purely his incredible will to win. Quite an accomplishment. The Bulls really didn’t beat Showtime in the Finals - as that era was long gone. Sadly - Kareem, McAdoo, Wilkes, Cooper, Rambis and Nixon were only memories and were not coming through that door.
Magic throwing the ball towards the other side of the court just enough for it to roll and kill time was some straight up Jedi Basketball Mind Shit. So Badass.
@@bobbyjohnson9409 Yes. Jordan Bulls rose to prominence at the best time. Lakers, Celtics and Pistons had faded. the NBA wont' tell you this because Jordan is the cash cow
Magic was MVP runner up and played some of his best basketball in these playoffs. Divac was better statistically in these playoffs than Kareem was in their last title run in '88. Perkins waa more productive than any of their starting PFs in the '80s. In terms of depth, this team was about on par with the '88 team that was pushed to the brink by a Jazz team with no bench and was a phantom foul from losing the Finals in six games. Enough of this "Durrrr, Lakers were old, durrrr!" bullshsit. The Bulls in the 2nd three peat were older than this Lakers squad all three years. They were also older than Detroit was this year.
@@johndo6175 Detroit was still in the ECF and was the previous year's champion. But conveniently, they're "too old" once they lose to Chicago according to your narrative.
@@redpillfreedom6692 There is so much to refute here. Chicago won championships in a league diluted by expansion. in the 90s The bulls benefitted greatly by significant advancements in sports medicine and luxury travel ( teams in the 80s flew commercial and this impacts recovery time significantly). This series is was the first one i watched,i fell in love with the nba after that! I was 11yrs old.this series is special to me
What a commentator Hearn was.Thank you for givinyus the opportunity to enjoy him

I still can't believe the Blazers didn't score on that fast break at the end. They had like a 4-on-1 and the ball goes out of bounds.
omg i know 🤦🏻♂️
The NBA will never be like this again. It was fantastic especially the 90's. I can barely watch today's stuff. Call me old school lol.
i cant watch even 1 quarter of the NBA finals in modern game
@@juanparty you both have bad taste in basketball
nice to hear Chick "Ole Golden throat" Hearn calling this Western Conference Final game from 1991! It sounds so good!
The brilliance of Magic Johnson.
I remember watching this game. I was 15 at the time.
Magic is simply in-cre-di-ble! Throwing that ball to the other side of the court at the end of the game was unreal
Muchas pérdidas en este juego venía bajando su nivel
vlade was still in development phase and imagine if he was more of a seasoned player then those passes by Magic would be automatic 2 pts
This was Magic's 32nd and last playoff series win.
The final time Portland wore the lower case “blazers” jerseys
How in the world did Magic drag this team to The Finals. This team was old with average players outside of Worthy.
Worthy was clearly injured too
@@noneyabeeysnass8283 Exactly. Thank you
Back then the team was more than the sum of its players. It was a unit.
@@karmaisreal261No, the more talented teams tended to win even then. Magic was just that gifted at squeezing the most out of his teammates.

rip jerome Kersey, rip kevin Duckworth
Cliff Robinson too 😢
The Blazers were some good ole chokers. I think Phil Jackson said they have a tendency to self-destruct.
Mike Folknation and that’s just the playoffs😂 lots more in the regular season
They were more talented than this Lakers squad or the Bulls the following year, but they lacked cohesion and a clutch gene.
I was at this game. Sat behind Tone Loc row 4.
I love Marv Albert, but no one compares to Chick Hearn.
Divac was underrated
James Worthy was clearly hurt in this game.
That ankle, course it haunted him in the Finals.
Stern and the higher ups made sure it was Michael vs Magic and I’m a lakers fan. Don’t understand how Magic got this post showtime team to the finals.
You're a Lakers fan and I'm Mickey mouse.
Use your eyes
blazers were so strong team but magic play everything on court fantastic magic
Magic throwing the ball towards the other side of the court just enough for it to roll and kill time was some straight up Jedi Basketball Mind Shit.
So Badass.
I didn’t know Chick called the play by play for NBC.
The clock got briefly stuck at 2.2 seconds which is why it went 00.1 seconds when it went out of bounds.
1:50 ... What stupid foul? I didn't even see a big push that would make Magic fly 15 feet out. Magic made a magical flop.
an old high mileage Magic took this team to the Finals. let's be honest this was no longer the Showtime Lakers
Absolutely wasn’t showtime. Jordan and Jordan fans like to say it was just because but it wasn’t.

Worthy still recovering from badly sprain ankle from game 5
*Tragic Blazers coutinue taking L's.*
Stu lamtz is so old
An OLD and HIGH MILEAGE Laker team that over achieved
NBA ON GMA 7 2024-
Blazers had a better team and they lost
magic was such a dick to Vlade....
Always got on him, I felt at times Magic was a over the top with his leadership, how he was with Vlade, he wouldn't dare do with Kareem.
The Blazers choked hard in this whole series. The Lakers spanked them in game 3 and 4. Blazers had more talent.
