25:50 Hehe that was how I felt when I left my Amazon onsite interview. I was so confident I was even preparing my resignation letter. Didn't get it, but this video really hit home for me. There is a certain sense of validation you get when a tech company takes interest in you.

Really appreciate the honesty and transparency and your thought process of everything. Can you please explain more what you mean when you say scripting. Did they have you write shell bash scripts, or Go or Python? Or did they say you can use any language at all? Was it a coding test? If you can please give more detail on that aspect please. 2nd question, did you end up getting the job? Sorry I must have missed that part I was driving and listening to the whole thing. If you can please explain if you got it or not or what you moved on to after the interviews. Thank you very much.

What level of technician did you apply for? I'm a level one temp(TVC)at Google in Atlanta. I've been turned down for the full-time spot because I'm overqualified. I have a lengthy resume. I applied for the full-time level 2 spot, and had three technical interviews that were all positive. They failed me on the Leadership Skills interview, aka Cognitive Ability. I'm 61 years old and the oldest person at this center. The guy that interviewed me talked to me like I was a child. I've emailed the on-site hiring team multiple times and haven't heard a peep from them.

Mine was a Facilities Maintenance technician and after 3 cancelled phone calls that they didn't even called to let me know ,I almost said thanks but no thanks because I was making time to wait for the calls and I was left waiting I had to email the recruiters and they did a great job find out and re schedule another time.
Finally a guy called me and by the way the person was from out ofste at a facility in California and I'm in the Midwest. So sounded that he was is Abit of a rush to go over the questions and these were a few of them:
Explain how an air conditioning system works such a s the components.
What affect a cooling tower the most.
    How does a transformer works.
What are the parts of a transformer.
    Types of pumps.
What do you know about Google .
And many other . But the problem was that the person wanted to hear what he wanted not what I had to say! It was a no win situation! I almost said you know what never mind.
Needless to say I did not qualify for the job .

What do you know about Google?
      Describe an air-conditioning system?

What's the main "problem with Cooling towers? ( Answer : outside temp/ condensation, evaporation)
Some electrical questions : part to a transformer ?
      Three fhase wires .?
I can't remember much but mostly is about air-conditioning and cooling since the job is to take care of the data center.
The worst part is that in those places there's a lot of contracted out work so you won't be doing a lot! ( I know because two of my friends work in the data centers)
The person that interviews you does not know about any benefits or nothing else so don't waste your time asking.

    • @silvermane5695
      @silvermane5695 Год назад

@@Onlyme2015 You don't work directly for them, Google have their own staffing agencies that do the hiring for them; then the staffing agency would give you two phone interviews then they'll send your information to Google and then Google will decide whether or not they would want to interview you for the job. If you get selected, the staffing agency will prepare a three month contract with a caveat stating that you may/may not get the position and whether or not Google would grant you an extension of the contract. Depends on the experience that you have the salary might start you at low $20.00 or $24.00. You have a higher probability working for the government than Google.
