That's a heck of a job! There's a lot of videos of people building these with zero tech help, but I appreciate how you did so much with so little. A couple handfuls of nails, a single sheet of plastic... and suddenly that rough emergency shelter others build to last a week could realistically last a few years! And be kept warm enough and comfortable enough to deal with some seriously cold and bad weather. I'm impressed.
Excelente trabajo,me encantó ese refugio,muy lindo ❤
I suppose a dugout shelter has the appeal that it is pretty well camouflaged or hidden from view in the Forrest. Another one is that you almost get half of the walls for free so to say by just digging them out of the hill. From a survival perspective it makes a lot of sense. Sheltered from wind and rain, isolated from the worst cold in wintertime and the ability to heat the shelter with an inbuilt stove. That is a game changer. For a more permanent solution I suppose it's drawbacks are for one, that it is a dugout. The cold radiating from the ground and parts of the walls, around 4 degree C all year around will always cool the shelter. That and moisture the dugout walls and floor will emit. The wood that is in contact with the earth will decompose much faster. In heavy rain and water flowing down the hill. Will that leak into the dugout? Making it wet,,
Well, another problem is that you have to build it in clay soil. In this area, a suitable place that has enough soil before you run into hard rock is hard to find. This is a trick for the southeast of the US where clay soils are plentiful and hills made of them are abundant.
The trick is to build where drainage is good and design so the rain and snowmelt run off. If it's not there, it's not going to leak in. In most of the Southern US, ground temp 16 inches deep is about 65 year round. That makes them easy to heat since about half of the structure is heat sink.
Lots of snow and I presume lots of cold and our hero wears no gloves, nor does he blow on his hands or show any sign of discomfort. What a man!
You get used to moving fast
Old school bushcraft : now cover the roof with polyethylen :D
People call the 60s "old" and it shows.
Has anyone noticed that these RUclips survivalist builders don't talk during building or after they built they're shelter
What would you want them to say?? lol I think they’re talking with their hands.
Pretty sure the water will collect on the bank, roof side, and eventually find it's way into the structure, not to mention, erode that side as well. This is a VERY temporary structure. Not something I would put this kind of time into building, just to lose it.
Had the same thought!
I would encourage any young man to perform this kind of ritual.... even if he only stays in the shelter for the duration of the build!
@IdahoEagle77 Agreed. Wonder why he bult it on a slope.
How long could something like that acactually last? Months?
The thing is if he had built the roof to go along with the angle of the slope, that wouldn’t be a problem, or at least not nearly as much of one. Instead he basically installed himself a little swimming pool that’s going to eventually empty itself into the structure.
This music sounds like the pizza delivery guy is receiving an alternative payment method from the babysitter.
... who also happens to be a dude. Aftwards ... the children make a payment too
It changes how you watch bushcraft videos when you realize they all begin with a walking shot where they must have set up the camera, filmed themselves walking by, then came back for the camera. 😂
Good for snow I guess, rain and that back wall goes bye bye... nightmare !!!
Yep. During rain the water will be rolling down the roof and seep directly into the shelter and flow over the floor while it erodes that back wall.
@@Nagroddy 🤣🤣👍👍 Yeah... keeping it real didn't really matter...
Escelente idea para construir un refugio, poder lograr, trabajando muchas horas.
Me gustan los vídeos de esos sitios cerrados , improvisar para pasar unos días de descanso y montañoso.
💯🇻🇪🇻🇪💓
I don’t like the music on this! .
Then mute it, stop whining
I hear ya!
Nobody cares
Agreed, ASMR is better.
I played it louder just to annoy you!!!
No music needed. Too distracting.
Every teenage boy that can build one should.
Every girl, too!
Hello, I'm from Vietnam. Your video is very impressive to me
THank you for not spending an hour or more on what you did in about 10 minutes. Thank you
It wasn’t the one I thought I was going to see but was built well
wow tempat yang luar biasa saya sangat menyukainya❤️
Water as expected runs right into the shelter when snow melts or rain storm. The floor meticulously holds water.
Ha ha. Meticulously. The English captions were so over the top.
Mighty meticulous
going to be a swimming pool come spring
Hello brothers! I'm Alex and I live in a cave and I'm showing this but this guy is a total hottie, better videos than mine🧡❤️
💚
@@VillageHidden thank you
How do you keep the thawed snow from running down the back side of the shelter. The roof isn't insulated, so the snow is going to melt.
Anda sangat teliti sekali dalam bekerja, saya rasa membutuhkan waktu beberapa hari baru siap ditempati
❤ You did a great job, it looks really beautiful. I wish you good health and hope you make many more videos.
Very resourceful but I don’t know if you can call something “Old School Bushcraft” when you are using plastic and nails. Also, I think the world record was set for the number of times “meticulously” was used.
Window should be more secured and shutters from inside installed. Also use some wood for floor
I love it!!!
Luckily nails, plastic sheet and door hinges are naturally occurring in the wilderness.
im guessing most ppl like outdoor vids for the outdoor vibe. To help them escape. Better off would be ambient nature audio - no music
I feel great about being in harmony with nature
Μπραβω σου είσαι παιδί της φύση πολύ ωμοφρα τα εκανε όλα πολύ πολύ ωραία μου αρεση πολυ αυτό που έκανες!!!
Beautiful video bro❤❤❤❤❤
Bush craft, old school with lots of new stuff too! I get it but plastic over the roof? They would use mud and dirt and tree branches covered in dirt.
Thank you for editing this down.
Question: Will the mud holding the chimney stones in place soon dry out and become dry dirt making the chimney simply fall apart?
This structure is not designed for long-term use, obviously.
I'd be more concerned at those river rocks exploding.
Would much rather have just natural sound than the weird music.
Very good presentation and craftmanship
You should have METICULOUSLY used PRECISION while you videoed in a STRATEGIC manner to ENSURE the EFFECTIVENESS of the sound to make it AURALLY APPEALING.
salam,bravo bravo et bravo,,hii
Great amazing Diy camping survival vlog
Great job....,just think what a good job he could do with store bought lumber. Well done Brother.
pressure treated
I love ❤️ the music 🎶 Love ❤️ from AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺 ❤
I really like this video
Great build
nice clip, enjoy watching it. superb skills + creativity = amazing result.. 👍👍
Making the best shelter...Very inspiring and useful Love your video ...Greeting from Indonesian traditional gold prospecting 🇮🇩❤️♥️👍👍
Super Praca poza tym skosem dachu w stronę upadu zbocza poza tym ok
Jesienią w tym domku byłoby bajoro po deszczu
Ale i tak super :) jak na zime :)
Wow 😂amazing
Nice job, not a bad video. Now, let's see how many times we can use the word " Meticulously".
Nature lover shelter 💚❤💐👍👍
Great construction job on the dugout! It looks nice. I would however put something more secure than plastic in the window, like plexiglass. And eventually put a wooden floor in it. How long did the build actually take?
Do not try this without a back up plan. Frozen dirt is impossible to dig and it is near impossible to get embers going with no heat.
Крышу нужно делать односкатную и сверху накидывать сначала глину, раз есть, а затем землю.
А то, что он с грязью или глиной, работал, а руки чисые, не напрягло?????
Nice tools!
One minute snow everywhere, next no snow anywhere
Mantap sobat sehat selalu,salam kenal🙏🙏
Tech freeze indeed.
He has been working with his bare hands in cold weather? Wow! The hut is complete .it's beautiful
Unlike most "build-a-shelter' videos, this guy wisely did not include a sub-zero temperature in his video's description. For all we know, the cold weather you mention could have been 35 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit - a temperature that does not necessarily demand the use of gloves or mittens.
Amazing! I love it. Awesome job.
So many bushcraft videos out there now and all so interesting to watch, but it takes a lot of time, energy, and supplies to build these structures even where they expect us to believe most, if not all, the wood, stones, hardware, and tools was scavenged nearby or in their backpacks. Just a weekend camping trip will prove that to be impossible. But besides all that fiction, on whose land are they building these seasonal structures? You can’t just build cabins in the woods where you find a good spot.
Where's the shelter shown in the thumbnail?
I would have spaced the bed a little further from the wall.
And I would have covered the adjacent wall with other wooden logs
Looks like it took it about a year and worth every second. Beautiful
The number of hairy hole diggers bullding wood sheds on RUclips is amazing!
My carpel tunnel hurts just watching this video. This would take 3 to 4 days to build in reality
Beautiful video, but in my opinion wrong choice for background music.
Que buen trabajo disfruta lo más censillo hay esta la ganancia
Большой очень труд,желание и умеение,Браво,вы просто мастер на все руки,в ночью это волк?
Someone should show Home Depot where to get these straight logs.
Sommer music in discotec any where in Thiland,Arabia,Istanbul
Great video❤❤😊
Neat Project, but that thumbnail was a little bit misleading.
It did say, "built for the Winter", right? By the time he moves in, Winter will be over. Usually, you start on a shelter a little bit before Winter, and the project may roll into the Winter. He started in the Winter. Hell look at the snow accumulation....lol!! Just picking. Keep on doing what you do. 😊😊
Things I would have done differently…. Larger overhang on the roof at the front. Bed logs flat side up. Nice build though.
Where does the snow come from in Kenya?
No geographical sense I see here at all - SMH.....🙄 🥺
Awesome job….well done 👍❤️🙏💪🏼🏆
Yeah, me too!! Plus, it ended before he was finished! Not nice!
Silicone pot handles, sheet plastic, nails, I love how that just shows up! lol Where was he storing H2O? Food? Cooking? Expelling all the above? Nice little fairy tale. It snowed and melted a 1/2 dozen times during production too!! Oh yeah, and the comfy blanket all nice and clean!! lol
Excellent excellent job 👍🏻
Love from usa 🇺🇸
Seems the primary purpose of so many of these videos is the video itself, the actual structure seems not nearly as important as the film. There is a famous video of a guy from years ago who built his own cabin by himself in Alaska, filmed the process, and lived in it for decades.
Why is there music?
Because you like it.
Because it’s a video posted on RUclips genius 🤦🏻
Refreshing, “Man” built…not they, them or whatever.
this is proof one man can do anything
He really likes that tree...hanging shelter..
You have amazing skills ❤❤❤
Somebody send him a pair of gloves !!
Super nápad, šikovný mužik.
Nice ❤
the wording is so funny. I can almost hear him speaking them, awkwardly. cool vid tho
Building a warm survival shelter for winter requires knowledge of the environment, resourcefulness, and practical skills. By selecting the right location, using appropriate materials, and constructing the shelter with insulation and warmth in mind, you can create a safe haven that will protect you from the harsh winter elements.
Wish your channel becomes stronger and stronger day by day❤
This is a real video
Pretty Awesome build, but someone really likes the word "meticulously.. omg..
All in 3 hours!!!😂
Alah la kvar !!!
Hi! You have a little different video with the background music. Interesting and nice relief of becoming boring. [I did negatively react with the sudden, loud'ish "clapping " before the video began. It scared me and I flinched....maybe some PTSD but regardless...]
Good work...❤❤❤
All without gloves guys my hero
