Seems like they’re definitely good friends. Probably not “best friends” in the way we think like sharing everything and visiting each other or talking all the time, but they work so well together and bring out the fun sides in each other.
Yup, one thing I’ve learned as I’ve gotten older- I just turned 30. Is adult friendships are different than when you are a teen. My best friend lives in a different state is married with kids, we speak about every couple months and I would say she’s definitely my best friend and someone I can see being very special to me for a long time. But we don’t share every little detail of our everyday lives because we are so far apart and don’t talk everyday and that’s okay. Anthony is a dad his priorities are gonna be different than Sebastians. That’s okay. But when I see young kids comment like “oh they are best friends I kinda giggle, I’m like nope but that’s okay. Also they are actors in front of a camera they very well could be acting. I know when Anthony is joking around I kinda see that as him putting on a character for the camera he seems like an intelligent guy who can also goof around. And uses humor to distract particularly to avoid talking spoilers;)

@@maryclark6661 Every friendship is different. I'm 32, I have friends from middle school that I talk to at least once a week. Before Covid, we would all hang out on Sundays. I made a friend at 30 on my last job. I haven't worked there in 2 years, yet we still talk twice a week. I do agree it depends on where you are in your life with children, husband, wife etc.
"Best friend" is a concept most people don't have after school, unless they live in the same town forever and never really get apart from each, which means hanging out ALL the time, which most people don't have time for.
"Best friend from school" is something that might endure but it's more a nostalgia thing.
He said that they talk more than the average person, meaning they’re always texting or on the phone, they just don’t see each other that much because they travel.

He wanted to become an engineer before being an actor, there's many layers to his life people don't know about.
Sebastian isn't exactly good with words which is understandable considering he doesn't speak much, and when he does it usually comes out in a ramble, half of which doesn't even make sense (probably makes sense in his own mind tho) lol. Anthony is good at explaining stuff and speaking his mind in general.
I'm the same way. I know what I want to say, but it never seems to come out that way, and I can't quite find the right words.
idk if Sebastian has some level of anxiety. He has been open about going to therapy and he always struck me as a shy guy so idk if that has anything to do w/ that. It's good that he's paired up with Anthony so much though bc he's the polar opposite and they can balance each other out. Lol.

We have been cheated, deprived and downright shafted! We, who are fans of Anthony and Sebastian and Falcon and The Winter Soldier, have been waiting for years for them to get their own show and when they do, what happens? The pandemic hits and we are prevented from their greatness and undeniable chemistry in interviews. I'm so disappointed, but at least we are getting interviews even though they aren't sat next to each other in the same room.

Listen, I think they’re both being a bit guarded with their responses here, just Mackie is better at articulating a more diplomatic response on the fly. They’ve implied repeatedly in the past that they’re close friends. Seb even called Mackie ‘one of my best friends’ at a Con, but they prob don’t want to get too deep into it as a way of maintaining boundaries between their real life friendship and what they put out for fan consumption.
I’ve noticed other celebs doing this too. Idk if that makes sense, but I can get why they’re not bouncing off the walls saying ‘this is one of my bffs for life’ lol

They also have to be protective about their friendship because they are essentially tied together work-wise now. If they over do it or exceed boundaries and the friendship suffers then the chemistry suffers and the show/movies suffer. The show literally hinges on their chemistry together.

I think first he expressed his admiration for Anthony’s work and that he’s been in a lot of movies that he admires and he thinks that more people should know or be aware of how good of an actor Anthony is.
In terms of the rest, my guess is that he’s implying that they don’t talk ALL the time to protect what they already have. (My guess is because they both have different personalities and if they were to spend too much time together they could end up having conflict).
So they are protective of their friendship - and have boundaries to protect that - especially as that friendship is now tied to this franchise. But at the same time they are able to still have a good time together and laugh and spend time.
I think that’s what he meant lol - But don’t take my word for it haha.
I think that they aren’t as close as us fans think they are, in the sense of talking everyday and knowing everything about the other - I bet they go through months of not talking at all or they don’t necessarily share everything with each other. But I do believe they have an incredible amount of respect and admiration for each other, and they get on REALLY well when they are together and they trust and love each other.

I love that they asked if they were actually close. I think people forget actors are media trained for interviews of a dynamic is working and gets people excited they the PR and other people in charge will go back to that dynamic. Which means these guys could be acting even in interviews, they maybe playing the role of “we love each other the whole cast is a big family” It’s literally their job to pretend to be someone else. That being said adult friendships are different than teen and college friendships, you may not talk all the time you may have other friends who you see more often but you still care about each other. Anthony lives in Louisana and has kids, Sebastian, idk where he’s living but it’s not in the same state as Anthony and he’s a not a dad. It’s completely different state and life stage. They aren’t gonna be best buddies but it doesn’t mean they don’t care about each other deeply.

Sorry I disagrees because its seems like every single day, you can see their relationship blossom and that despite what people are saying about them or trying to say; that they are faking or acting, it's not true. I disagree with Anthony Mackie at the end of this interview in this case. I love AM and SS and they are great actors. I was really looking forward to this series back when it was announced. Whoever is in charge of these Marvel series has obviously not written a TV series before. What they have done is taken what should be a movie, chopped it up into 30-45 minute pieces and called it a "series". And to add insult to injury, they are releasing the episodes 1 a week. At the very least, they should drop them all at once. In this case I blame the studio for a very disappointing release, not the actors who are very good in their roles.

And before streaming, tv shows used to go once a week, I think it’s to increase views. People come on the platform once a week watch the show but while their there they might watch something else. As opposed to them dropping it all at once, people would binge watch and then just leave, or even cancel altogether once they watched what they wanted.
And actually it had the highest streaming numbers for any release on the platform ever.
I understand what "TV used to be". I've been around long before streaming services and I watch plenty of regular TV where shows only come on once a week. The problem with Falcon and Winter Soldier and WandaVision is the format of these weekly shows is terrible. When you watch TV series on regular networks, the shows have a beginning, middle, and end. These shows don't do that. You are going from one cliff hanger episode to the next. The pacing is just awful. Take another D+ series, The Mandalorian. That series is FANTASTIC! I can't wait to watch each episode as it comes out each week. Those episodes are both standalone and tell the greater story arc. If Marvel could learn from that story telling style, it would make a lot more sense and be much more enjoyable. As for canceling platforms, I could still do that. Drop my service for a couple months, come back to binge this series and drop it again. So the argument you make doesn't fully explain why streaming channels like Disney+ are following this format. In my situation, I paid for the full year in advance and my current subscription doesn't expire until May. Which I'm not going to renew until December when The Book of Boba Fett is released. Then I will just pay month to month. So I can drop it for situations such as this.
