Εξερευνώντας Σταθμό Μουρίων - Δοϊράνη - Χωριό Ακρίτας .

Mourion Station is located towards the border of Greece with Skopje, northeast of Lake Doirani. It is built next to the national road Thessaloniki - Doirani, between Alexandra (SW) and Agia Paraskevi. It is 30 km N. from Kilkis and 78 km N. from Thessaloniki. The old name of the village, during the Turkish rule, was Akintzali Railway Station and thus it was officially mentioned in 1919 in the Official Gazette 48A-03/05/1919 to be attached to the then Akintzali (Mouries) community. It was renamed Mourion Railway Station in 1926 and its name was corrected to Mourion Station in 1951[2]. According to the Kallikratis program, together with Alexandra, they form the local community of Mourien Station, which belongs to the Mourien municipal unit of the municipality of Kilkis and according to the 2011 census has a population of 1,040 inhabitants.
On the northern border of the country, a lake that "shares" and is a natural border with the neighboring Skopje, stands out both for its captivating natural beauty and for the heavy history of the place that surrounds it. A place that, despite the times, still remains completely authentic. The lake of Doirani, in NE. end of Kilkis, it may be unknown to most, but those who get to know it up close are certain that they will soon find themselves next to its waters, to enjoy - not only - the beauty and tranquility of the landscape, but also the well-cooked grivadi in the beautiful fish taverns of the small village. Its name probably comes from the ancient Dovires, who were a Paionic race, settled in the area. It is a remnant of the ancient lake of Paionia which occupied a much larger area. Herodotus mentions the lake with the name of Prasias and as the inhabitants around it the Doberes, the Agrianes, and the Odomantes, even describing their way of life in the stilt huts they built on platforms. The huts were supported on wooden cruciform posts, which they brought from the nearby mountains. In the middle of the house there was a hatch that communicated with the lake. From there, when they wanted to fish, they threw a pike, a trap basket and brought it up full of fish.
Akritas is a small village in the prefecture of Kilkis, about 240 inhabitants, near Lake Doirani, which is "divided" between Greece and Macedonia. Its inhabitants are of Pontic origin and in addition it has a few Saracatsans. Most of them are refugees who came in 1922 from Kerasounda, but also in 1936 from Sourmena. In the village head to the church of Ag. Georgiou. Behind is the old army outpost which was converted into a historical Museum-Outpost named "Grigorios Auxentiou". It was named in honor of the Cypriot hero and deputy leader of the EOKA, who fought for the liberation of Megalonis from the British occupation during the period 1955-1957, while he also served in this outpost.
Ο Σταθμός Μουριών βρίσκεται προς τα σύνορα της Ελλάδας με τα Σκόπια, βορειοανατολικά της λίμνης Δοϊράνης. Είναι κτισμένη δίπλα στην εθνική οδό Θεσσαλονίκης - Δοϊράνης, ανάμεσα στην Αλεξάνδρα (ΝΔ.) και την Αγία Παρασκευή. Απέχει 30 χλμ. Β. από το Κιλκίς και 78 χλμ. Β. από τη Θεσσαλονίκη.
Στα βόρεια σύνορα της χώρας μια λίμνη που «μοιράζεται» και αποτελεί φυσικό σύνορο με τα γειτονικά Σκόπια, ξεχωρίζει τόσο για τη σαγηνευτική φυσική ομορφιά της, όσο και για την βαριά ιστορία του τόπου που την περιβάλλει. Ένας τόπος, που σε πείσμα των καιρών, εξακολουθεί να παραμένει απόλυτα αυθεντικός.Η λίμνη της Δοϊράνης, στο Β.Α. άκρο του Κιλκίς, μπορεί να είναι άγνωστη στους περισσότερους, αλλά όσοι τη γνωρίσουν από κοντά το σίγουρο είναι πως θα βρεθούν και πάλι σύντομα δίπλα στα νερά της, για να απολαύσουν όχι μόνο την ομορφιά και την ηρεμία του τοπίου, αλλά και το καλοψημένο γριβάδι στις όμορφες ψαροταβέρνες του μικρού χωριού.Η ονομασία της προέρχεται πιθανώς, από τους αρχαίους Δόβηρες, που ήταν Παιονικό φύλο, εγκατεστημένο στην περιοχή.
Ο Ακρίτας είναι ένα μικρό χωριό του νομού Κιλκίς, 240 περίπου κατοίκων, κοντά στη λίμνη Δοϊράνη, η οποία είναι «μοιρασμένη» ανάμεσα στην Ελλάδα και την ΠΓΔΜ. Οι κάτοικοί του είναι Ποντιακής καταγωγής και επιπλέον έχει λίγους Σαρακατσάνους. Οι περισσότεροι είναι πρόσφυγες που ήρθαν το 1922 από την Κερασούντα, αλλά και το 1936 από τα Σούρμενα.Στο χωριό κατευθυνθείτε στην εκκλησία του Αγ. Γεωργίου. Πίσω βρίσκεται το παλιό φυλάκιο του στρατού το οποίο μετατράπηκε σε ιστορικό Μουσείο-Φυλάκιο με την ονομασία «Γρηγόριος Αυξεντίου». Ονομάστηκε προς τιμήν του Κύπριου ήρωα και υπαρχηγού της ΕΟΚΑ, ο οποίος αγωνίστηκε για την απελευθέρωση της Μεγαλονήσου από τη βρετανική κατοχή κατά την περίοδο 1955-1957, ενώ υπηρέτησε και στο συγκεκριμένο φυλάκιο.
