Being a vegan, chicken nuggets I probably missed the most. Glad to see impossible has made some!
Plant based foods are completely lovely and 7477392% welcome
My dad worked in senior management at Sargento Cheese so needless to say cheese has been the hardest for me. But I def miss the stupid dirtbag McDonald's chicken nuggets sometimes. Hope these help.
They’re amazing
have fun digesting!
@@gabegol990 why are u replying to year old comments
The impossible burger was definitively the best product to enter the market, for brand image.
These are so yummy! I cooked 12 nuggets at 11 minutes at 370 degrees. In my air fryer. And this were crispy and tasty! How do they do this? A little pricey but worth it! I'm a buyer for life!
"I'm going to ignore the packaging instructions and then review these chicken nuggets even though I never eat normal chicken nuggets and have no basis of comparison."
This is a tactic to get engagement, purposely agitate anyone with common sense to get outrage clicks and comments, because actual journalistic integrity is dead.
Why are you complaining when you know exactly how they were prepared?
@@zunedog31 - their point is, what good is a review if it wasn’t prepared as instructed and the reviewers expertise in the product is nil. His overall satisfaction with the product virtually means nothing.
It’s no different than myself doing a review on surgical instruments while using them to “dissect” a loaf of bread. I know nothing about surgical instruments and most people would say that the tools weren’t intended to operate on a loaf of bread. This clearly means you can rest assured my opinion on said instruments is solid.
This review is vegan propaganda.
@@joshrichards1291 I eat mostly meat and my mom got these and they taste exactly like normal frozen chicken nuggets
didnt expect cooley doing food
In eating some right now and they're real good!
"This is the peak of summer in California" - says the guy wearing a puffer vest. Then again, even chicken nuggets confuse the poor guy.
best light for filming is AM
Lollll
The Bay Area of California has wide array of microclimates, and it can get quite cold in the summer, and warm in the winter. When visiting family in San Francisco, I have found myself in need of donning a jacket some days in the summer there, while sometimes shorts and a t-shirt was enough on some winter days. The weather can change quite significantly depending on which side of a hill you are on, or how many miles from the ocean you are,
San Francisco is cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. It is called upwelling.
You’ve clearly never been to California 🙂
If it tastes good, doesn’t have unhealthy additives and costs about the same - sure I wouldn’t eat a chicken nugget again. Especially, when it comes to “treat” foods, taste is what matters moreso than nutritional benefit. Essentially, I won’t give up meat but I won’t be opposed to plant based alternatives - I’ll value them equally.
$7 for 20 ...
but the value of the products is not equal. Plant based processed foods cost more (right now) but also represent less suffering on the part of the animals and less impact on the planet. It is inconvenient of course. I am a new vegan so I understand that, but I think our cost analysis isn't great when it comes to plant-based diets.
Brian, you have come a long way from reviewing cars. “Ugly is included at no extra cost” 😂. The spectrum of your review skills are unmatched at CNet.
I'm mostly experimenting with vegan food because I love animals. But they nailed this one, they taste very close to chicken nuggets
These sound so good I will have to try these !!!
Wholesome brian cooley content we didn’t know we needed 🥰
He’s great!!
These are so good, seriously. I tried them and went back to buy a few bags of them lol.
How do you not do a side by side against Tyson... Especially when the guy doesn't even remember what a chicken nugget tastes like.
Don't think it was really meant to be a side by side comparison video..or a taste test. Just a review of a product. The fact that he hasn't eaten regular chicken nuggets in a while kinda helps. If they taste good they dont have to be the same imo.
@@mrjek01 yeah but they don't function as replacements if they don't taste similar
You have to try these out, they're a really accurate imitation, not like impossible burger, when you taste it there's something odd about it this isn't present on this nuggets these are REALLYYYYYYYYYYY close
Cleanest grill ever
Loved the burger, I'm sure the nuggets will be great
Just tried some today at Fuku in NYC and they’re AMAZING. Absolutely indistinguishable from actual chicken nuggets.
Curious when Impossible launches in Europe! I'll also have to try the Beyond meats once
They use GM crops, our laws won't let them sell here.
@@tomblewomble3369 they're already available in the UK
@@ailafen8783 No they aren't im afraid, but i wish they were.
@@tomblewomble3369 that's right, it's still being tested here.
Great video Brian - love to see you outside of an automobile.
I've tried these and they are so good
Im excited for these!
Peak of summer.. wearing a gillet?
Lool
"chicken nuggets make no sense to me" this is the dude trying to convince me to buy some nuggs? Smh
I kinda like that. You know he’s not gonna pump up the product too much in the review.
I usually deep fry them from frozen.
I wonder if it will be available either in a restaurant or in stores here in WV. The Impossible meat still isn't available in any stores in the entire state. I can only get Impossible Whoppers.
Just got them today taste amazing and just like chicken really shocked and suprised
peak of summer, wears a long sleeve shirt and life jacket
They’re so damn good!
Just got a pack and this popped up in my recommendation
I’m just waiting patiently for the hotdog....
Try Loma Linda jumbo dogs in the can. Best I've tried
I love meat but if they can make a vegetarian product for the same price and taste I would be fine ordering the vegetarian version.
I think that is of course the goal, but consider the other costs of animal products. Factory farming is terrible for the environment, for the animals, and for the farmers.
Impossible Ground "Beef" is amazing. I cant tell the difference between it and real ground beef.
Morning star farms has the best that I have tasted. Kroger brand waffle fries and Chik-fil-a sauce and I almost feel guilt.
Morning star buffalo nuggets are my go to nuggets
If it's the peak of summer, why the down vest? ;-)
SF is cooler in the summer.
Peak summer in CA = wearing a vest now? :)
In the Bay Area? Not at all unlikely or unusual. California is a very big place with a varied climate.
The Real taste test is my kids.
OMG... they're just damn chimken nuggets. 10 min in the toaster oven from frozen. There ya go! You dont need a freakin 7 min video.
This was a video about business, i.e. the food market. Don't worry if you didn't get it.
Please put someone who actually likes chicken nuggets to review it...
There was some plant based nuggets I tried from sams club that tasted and looked like McDonald’s nuggets
I would hope they don’t taste like McDonald’s nuggets, as those things are objectively terrible. I believe there was time when they made their nuggets with either dark meat or a mix of light and dark meat, and they were much better. Now they make them out of all white meat, and they taste like cardboard.
oh gee, it retails ONLY $8 for a 13.5 ounce package.
Can you undercook them, Unlike chicken where you risk food poisoning?
Does it attract the bees looks liked they were swimming at the end
Considering most chicken nuggets don’t consist much of chicken anyway…
if it's cheaper than the "real" chicken nugget then i'll switch
I see Cooley I click.
Cooley, the food vlogger
Next time review something by someone who knows what it's supposed to taste like. If the guy doesn't eat nuggets, his opinion is useless.
It's chicken nuggets, not gourmet food. If it tastes like chicken and if it tastes like decent food, it's probably good enough for the target demographic.
why gatekeep nuggies bro?
Acually I think it was more accurate. Most adults haven't eaten nuggets in a long time. If he enjoyed them unbiased then it was a good review. It wasn't really a comparison video.
Only time I eat nuggets is when I happen to be making for the kids and I might pop one in my mouth while serving up but otherwise not really ,we eat pilgrims nuggets they are really good, with real breast meat
I've never bought them ever. Never saw the point. People like Jamie let's buy chicken nuggets and I'm like nuuuuuu full chicken yessss
I love the impossible spicy sausage and they chicken nuggets
These people like jesus, instead of giving you an arm they give you plants make into chicken.
people don't eat meat for the sake of eating meat, they eat it for the taste, texture etcetc.
Wish they used a healthier oil though
Not a great review but honestly if they're available and not double the price I'll grab a bag for the kids and let them be the judge anyway.
They’re good.
The regular stuff had ridiculous sodium. the Impossible nuggets actually have more. Way to go.
People don’t eat chimken nuggiez for the health benefits.
These aren’t meant to be healthier for the person eating them, they are meant to be healthier for the planet. The target market are not those who abstain from meat for personal health reasons, but those who recognize that meat production is hugely damagiong to the environment. Significantly less water, land, and energy is required to produce these nuggets than ones made from chicken.
Oh yeah and chicken nuggets aren't part of a meal. They are a treat.
Tried it this week. They are super dry and gritty.
wasps, not bees! 😀
Brian i just wanted to say I thought your review was very refreshing with a nice lite and humorous dialog and you pulled it off perfect , hope to see you in more reviews soon, I thought when you said "basically stupid" was hilarious
When are people going to wise up and start eating real food. Processed chicken and food made in a lab is always a bad choice.
Real chicken is also bad for your health.
I thought these would be the best, but they're pretty average. For me, the champ now is Gardein Ultimate chicken nuggets. There's a very marked texture improvement over older Gardein, and the seasoning is excellent.
Since when were Chicken Nuggets a meat? Chicken is not meat.
Yeah they are what kind of question is that
Cool!
Cool commercial
possible
I’m here for Cooley On Foods!
this tool really got shook and gave up his sauce to some bees
Lol ouch!
To me, they should be called “impossible to pass as nuggets.”
Every time I’ve had them I wish they weren’t trying to pass them off like they are imitation chicken because they aren’t good and just makes me want to eat chicken. I give them a 1/10. But if you like them I’m happy for you. Impossible sausage is alright though.
If it don't save calories it don't make sense!!!
It saves water, land use, pollution, etc. Makes good sense.
Me: *reads title*
Also me: That's "impossible"
Hey CNET, the video may get some thumbs down but that’s because people are complaining about the product not the reviewer. Brian is amazing and deserves more reviews. This is quality content.
oven or microwave
wotttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt
no deep fryer
wotttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt
fried/grilled/roasted fatty food is the worst for health vegan or not (advanced glycation end products)
impossible should work on that and make some crunchy healthy alternative to fried food
If you want healthy, stick to non-proccesed whole foods. If you're trying to be healthier then these will work fine for now imo.
@@mrjek01 if they want to stick to impossible principle and put the bar higher they should make their processed foods as healthy than whole food plant based otherwise there is no innovation its just a regular vegan brand
This product is not targeted to real vegans but people who eat meat and want to try a middle ground
Real chicken getting scarce???
Going to keep with the nutritional real chicken nuggets, and not highly processed veggies.
Well thats one way of wasting my life away.....off to drugs now
Woah CNET....loved it
It's still highly processed food, pumped full of chemicals. Not any better for you than the real thing. Less nutrient dense. And you pay a premium for it. Good job!
It's way better for the environment tho
What chemicals are they pumped full of? How are they less nutrient dense?
@@Nyle95 the running theory is that nutrients in food are broken down over time. So even corn that was let's say flash frozen 3 days ago isn't as nutrient dense as corn that's picked right from the field. There is a lot of scientific evidence to back it. But there's nothing wrong with lacking some nutrients in a frozen plant based chicken nugget. We aren't aiming for the perfect food here, baby steps lol
@@njott1021 Plant-based products have come on leaps and bounds in the last few years. I try to avoid processed foods where I can and eat wholefood plant-based but I do lile to indulge.
@Riki P. There's plenty of proven concerns with actual meat though. And I don't think people who would otherwise ear a healthy plant-based diet eat nuggets for health benefits.
You have to be roasting! Too much clothes for cali
Have you been to the Bay Area? Cali is not all Southern California beaches.
Cooley could do a video on literally anything and I would watch it. Hope he blesses us with more car content, but until then, give me whatever.
"What am I supposed to say? It tastes like a chicken nugget. I haven't had one in 1000 years." I love Brian but dang CNET, you couldn't find anyone on your staff who had a little more domain expertise?
Is he vegan or vegetarian? Probably.
Sure let's all find a chicken nugget expert
@@nguyen1682 it would've taken them all of 5 minutes to find a kid who eats McDonald's chicken nuggets on a weekly basis
@@DannerBanks Most people are not clicking on this for a nugget review, they are clicking on the video to see Cooley. Cooley fans are the core target audience.
@@fordhouse8b maybe. But all the comments seem to indicate otherwise
Oh this isn't new. McDonalds has been making vegan nuggets for a long time already. Those things don't even have real meat.
"I'm going to demo this product in a way you will NEVER use it". Yeah thanks.
You just need to heat them up, why does it matter how he accomplishes it? He could have set it on the roof in Arizona and I’d watch him review it’s flavor
I read the title and was like 🤔!
Y'all best leave Brian Cooley alone. He is a national treasure and I will NOT stand for it.
Undoubtly a step in the right direction
This is dumb, chicken nuggets are made out of waste products off of the chicken and they are replacing them with something that is likely way more expensive and more time consuming to manufacture.
Once the demand grows the prices will fall
Meat production is far more resource intensive than just about any plant production. Promoting a healthier ecosystem by not endlessly devoting more and more land, water, and energy to animal husbandry is not dumb.
"haven't had one in a thousand years".. what kind of savage are you? Nuggs are the best.. (i'm almost 50)
if they can make it in nugget form they need to make it in spicy chicken sandwich patty form.
0:30 excuse me grandpa, then call those vegan nuggets or protein nuggets or something...but chicken nuggets have to have chicken(meat) in them. 😑
Nice video 👌
Weren’t they already “impossible”? Barely any chicken and a lot of other stuff, 😅
Get Cooley back into cars, but EV cars this time.
I need car reviews not fake a$$ chicken review
Plant based meat is like electric cars. Sure they’re cool, and they claim it’s the way of the future, but it’ll never replace the originals
Wowow
A food video for the first time?
Barf
GMO!!! COUNT ME OUT 🤢 🤮
These are not healthy in the slightest, especially compared to caulipower chicken tenders. Just because it's plant-based doesn't mean it's healthy. Soy Bean Oil and sunflower oil are HIGHLY processed vegetable oils.
They are not meant to be healthy, they are meant to be less resource intensive to produce. They are meant to reduce water use and pollution, not the size of your belly or your blood-pressure.
@@fordhouse8b No one is going to eat a product that's not healthier or as good as the current product on the market. If you want to improve the environment there are more practical ways like than making fake meat and banking on the meat industry to go extinct.
@@joshrichards1291 Firstly, though I have not tried these nuggets, I have tried an impossible burger, and with the right fixing’ it is delicious. It is not exactly the same as a McDonald’s Quarter Pounder, but neither is a Burger King Whopper, or a Five Guys Bacon Cheeseburger. It doesn’t have to be the same, it just has to be a tasty and competitive alternative. So far, it fails on the second count more than on the first one, as prices at this time are still not very competitive. No one is "banking on" the meat industry disappearing altogether. And no one is expecting this one product category to save the environment all by itself. It is just one option on the menu. An option that has the potential of improving in both taste, texture, and price over time. Prices may well become more competitive if production ramps up sufficiently, and that competitiveness could well be enhanced if we, in recognition of the extensive damage caused by meat production, imposed extra taxes on it, much like we do with gasoline.Meat consumption per capita has increased dramatically in the US, and around the world generally, in the last five decades or so. The average American could be perfectly healthy consuming meat at 1960’s levels, and we should, as a society find ways to discourage the excessive amounts we eat today. That being said, I do enjoy a tasty burger, a plump hot dog, a juicy chicken thigh, or a nicely charred strip steak, all of which I have eaten in just the last couple of days. It doesn’t help that I work in a thoroughly meat-centric hotel kitchen. We do offer Beyond burgers, which are ok, but in my estimation inferior to the Impossible Burger.
