It's crazy to me that more time is spent playing as Tanya and rain than the main show of the dlc Sektor and Cyrax, we barely got any character interactions between them before they hate each other
Would’ve added a bit of depth to this story to have Havik’s Kamidogu be the shattered fragments of Kronika that Liu Kang defeated, that were scattered across multiple timelines, hence why they’re able to affect other timelines without you needing to defeat their Titan. The story should’ve been about Havik’s minions and Liu Kang’s champions going from timeline to timeline to collect the Kamidogu, with it eventually culminating in a final battle with Havik that see’s the alternate timelines slowly come undone as history begins reverting to just 1 timeline, which would set up the next game’s plot and potential reboot of the story.
I agree with what you guys said about the flying thing. It makes no sense why they wouldnt just fly. Not even just them but rain too. Could he not turn into a puddle or teleport away from being crushed? Best way to solve this is to just not put them in that situation to begin with. It could of been tanya getting crushed instead of the one character that could avoid it ( even tho i think rain could probably teleport her away anyways)
Sektor's reason to why she can't fly much is explainable, at least story mode wise Her suit functions, like her boosters, flight and rockets are all using one fuel source shared for all of them, so those trips going down and up wont be a good idea because she has to conserve fuel for her Functions in Kombat.

I can't express how much I HATE the way they write in more fights, they made everyone's kameo a playable character, so when you beat one, you have to fight the other, there's no progression, no other conflict, nothing but fluff...
Someone has to have a face to face with the writers at NRS and tell them straight to their face, “You are not Shakespeare or Tolkien stop writing like you are.”
Poor Max and crew don't get that Havik is making them repeat fights, cause it's scripted for the characters they're in control of, not to kill opponents. He wants to see death. This IS MK, and we never showed morals on Mk1-3. Why now? Let us do fatalities on people in the story mode. When a character is supposed to die in the story, let us FINISH HIM
I don't particularly agree with Max's take on the story. It can be corny and still be good, but this dlc story often feels brain dead. Also, aside from that, I honestly don't understand why they went out of their way to reboot everything only to make an MK11 sequel.
Mortal Kombat has always been braindead though, it's a shaolin tournament escalating into complete absurdity. Honestly, I think the reboot was made because they wrote themselves into a corner, the first reboot of MK9, 10 and 11 was nice but it was basically a do over of the old games, because the old games virtually had no real story, only flavor text. This rebooted timeline is still dumb and brainless, but there is a little bit more cohesion, characters at least have better motivations than plain surface level good vs evil. Also a little side note... But even the more beloved MK9 had some really stupid moments, like having Jax fight Johnny Cage simply because the latter annoyed him.
@@Roler42I mean stupidness aside, I just can’t help but feel the writing quality if worse without a doubt. There is just something missing that I can’t explain

Thing is, Tekken story was never bad, and that applied to MK to a degree, and while Tekken 8 got rid of the Devil Gene and focused on martial arts skill at the end (Reina excluded, she's got her stuff going on), MK is still the same story coated with new paint.
They have completely given up on making the fights relevant to the story. Justification for kombat tends to be a weakness of MK’s storylines, but holy fuck at this point random characters just show up, get their asses kicked, and vanish with zero setup or story significance.

I said it before and I will said it again I am tired of fighting games stories trying to imitate the MCU. Multiverse, a big war, etc 😞 Fighting game stories should go back to being simple. Just a fighting tournament with all the characters having a personal goal. Simple yet effective. You don't need a big cinematic story mode At this point, I prefer a simple story over one that is over the top.
At the begginig of this story mode, Cyrax started running on a branch ignoring gravity, that should could come handy in the rotating walls too. So even if they can't fly, they still have story plot bullshit

@@bdo333 he came in, took Geras, is shown to have killed hundreds of them which is literally impossible, has an army of himselves who can’t really die, he can’t die cause of his chaotic nature, I feel like all of this is enough to see him as strong and threatening already and this is all visualized stuff we see in the game but let’s add on the fact that he’s the OG havik. He’s the same havik from the MKX and 11 comics and he’s the one that managed to fight and kill kronika on his own. This isn’t dairou pretending to be havik to lead his rebellion, no this is chaosrealm havik. The truly insane one. What happens when an insane person rules a timeline? You see it here and it will happen to ours if he isn’t killed. If that doesn’t establish him as a good enough threat than you’re just nitpicking.
And idk why you asked what chaos is, I mean what kind of ridiculous question is that?
@@rockycuro7737 he can't die because of his chaotic nature. And in the end... He dies?
You say original Havik, so is this the same Havik from Armageddon? Or the one from the MKX comics? Where did you get this from?

Army of jobbers. He would be more of a threat if he had his own chapter and had some Ws under his name
@@bdo333 he didn’t die in the end. He’s very much still alive, that’s why liu kang stops noob from finishing the job so that he can make sure haviks timeline isn’t destroyed with him. It’s very blatant that he isn’t dead in the end
Also you know where I get this? From the fact that havik himself says that he defeated kronika and that’s how he got the hourglass and became a titan. So how could this be any other havik than the one we know from the MKX comics?
You say that everything is explained too easily but it seems that you didn’t even pay attention to what was explained.
Also he does have W’s, W’s in the form of the 100’s of different timelines and universes he’s taken over

Not as much as ff origins
Don't forget whenever you see a mohawk.
Noob: So the only chaos that mayters to you is your own?!
Havok: 😬
Death really has no emotional impact in a story where there’s a multiverse. There are literally infinite Rains out there, why should we care that this specific one died? Especially considering we only just met him.
I assume if its a multiverse character they are likely to die.
Lore tip, Orin is one of the dragons that protect Taven and Dagon from Armaggedon
To be fair, Harumi dying was a canon event for Hanzo, not Kuai Liang. Since Hanzo and Harumi have never met in this timeline... she isn't fated to die anymore.
It's like the authors don't understand what chaos and anarchy means, but at least In the end, Bi-Han calls out Havik on his hypocricy.
They are doing the thing with Cyrax and Sektor where they make the characters take their mask/helmet off almost *every time* they have to speak
It's a common thing with movies because you have to make use of the actors expressions
its so they can show emotion. pretty hard to convey that to an audience with a mask on.
@@thapoppymanyet some of the most iconic performances are people behind masks that hide expressions. This is not a good argument.
Yeah it happens when NR wants to be as Hollywood and triple A as the gaming industry is today. They wanna show off their fancy facial mocap tech that costed hundreds of thousands of dollars to develop
@ziontea7045 to add to that, some of the most legendary performances are done not just without face shown but without even a possibility of facial animation
Sovereign from ME1 doesn't need a face to be terrifying. Soma's protagonist sells the desperation of his predicament in the game's ending despite the game being in first person. GLaDOS's every word drips with charisma and sarcasm despite her facial animation consisting of nodding and blinking (if you even see her)
Max: "Super-man doesn't fix all of the world's problems by traveling back in time."
Meanwhile, The Flash: *Has nearly destroyed the entire multiverse on several occasions trying to do this exact thing.*
Really hard to care about characters from a timeline that won't matter anymore once the antagonist is taken down.
Just can't get enough multiverse bullshit...

Whatever steve was eating must have been right on the mic, it hurts to wear headphones at the start lol.
Sektor's reason to why she can't fly much is explainable, at least story mode wise
Her suit functions, like her boosters, flight and rockets are all using one fuel source shared for all of them, so those trips going down and up wont be a good idea because she has to conserve fuel for her Functions in Kombat.
@@jayg613 but they never say anything about the power source or that they are low on power, all they had to do was mention it. It wouldnt even make sense to be low on power either since they were planning on invading the wedding and they would go fully charged. Also has nothing to do with cyrax or sektor, but i like how geras just lets himself be taken as prisoner like he isnt one of the most op charaters in the game. He freezes havik in place at the end after they free him, like why couldnt he do that to begin with?😂
They could have tried something different for once and have a boss battle with the dragon, instead of doing the usual fight A and B character. Or at least have dragon cause stage hazard during fight. Any would be better than the repetitive gameplay these story modes have
You really wanted a mortal kombat fight with a dragon? Are you stupid?
My biggest issue with the question "This is supposed to be Chaotic".......is that it seems Max and the gang were wanting Chaos to equate to Random where Havok is more Anarchy. Order and Chaos have a better ring to it, but honestly he should be the Cleric of Anarchy rather than the Cleric of Chaos.
I thought it was more of a "God stop saying chaos so much it doesn't mean anything at this point," sorta sentiment.
@@Riggs_The_Roadie I can see that, but later they explain that they wanted to see the random people and "is this chaotic chat?". It's honestly just an issue with the word "Chaos"...because it's become to mean so many things that itself lost meaning.

I just wish we got a chapter playing as Kitana as she leads her army against Havik’s army. Why isn’t outworld as involved in this story?

to answer the question at 22:00 yes sektor and cyrax can fly. in that specific situation with the turning room, syrax said before that havok's magic was interfering with their suit. so its a plot convenience thing that is preventing them from flying because they are being prevented from flying at that time

Someone should also take their own advice & stop watching Max's videos in general
The only one expecting such writing is you, which is precisely what you shouldn't expect from an MK GAME

Poor Max and crew don't get that Havik is making them repeat fights, cause it's scripted for the characters they're in control of, not to kill opponents. He wants to see death.

@SolidSnake240 Yes that's it. Fight the corporations, you can do this rebel #99.
Cool thing about Tanya talking to dragons is that it’s a reference to her MK Armageddon ending where she becomes a realm conquering dragon summoner
They have completely given up on making the fights relevant to the story. Justification for kombat tends to be a weakness of MK’s storylines, but holy fuck at this point random characters just show up, get their asses kicked, and vanish with zero setup or story significance.
