I LOVE love love decorating above kitchen cabinets…been doin it for many years now. Im a 60yr old housewife, married for 40 years, and been a decorating ‘fool’ for at least 30years…w/ALL that said, my current house kitchen ceilings are vaulted therefore 8-9’ tall ceilimgs above two sections of kitchen cabinets(which by the way is the only place for me to decorate because no other walls), anyhoo…This year I did a Valentines gingerbread theme kind of is an extension from the Christmas gingerbread stuff but anything that was really definitely Christmas has been packed up and put away so yeah my kitchen TV room entryway are all decked out Valentines and it’s very very cute
Oh then I know for a fact your home is incredibly cozy! I love the gingerbread theme for Christmas so seeing stores make Valentine’s Day theme ones was very refreshing! I didn’t decorate my entry way because believe it or not I ran out of decor 🤣🤣

I do decorate the tops of my cabinets but mine are kind of close to ceiling nothing as nice as yours. Wished I could put my baskets up there. And I AGREE with you , I decorate for ME. I'm the one that has to look at it 24/7, I have a very eclectic taste. And I ALWAYS love to add a touch of humor in a room. 🌹 I also decided to start reading more. I would like to learn how to cross stitch. I love your tree. I usually decorate for valentines but decided to do Mardi Gras and roll into Easter.
Love how you mention to make your home how you want. One of the things my dad complained about when my Aunt Jane was putting together my glass display case I plan to use for funkos that I was having her put up this Michael Myers sign up in my kitchen that says Welcome to Haddonfield and then at bottom says Have a Knife Day. Which thought was perfect for my kitchen. I wish had more space like you do to put stuff on the cabniets. Don't have space above cabniets. Only over my fridge, but I put my air fryer above it when done using it because small space. I definitely got back into reading after 10 years as of last year. Trying to find more hobbies. Got into puzzles last year too, but don't own any. After my experiences last year that gave me more free time, tried to find new hobbies to take my mind off the things in my head. Actually need to take my therapist's advice and pack up things that remind me of what caused my PTSD since that's one of the places can at least control what I do see. Just have to find motivation to put it up and be in right mindset to put it away out of sight to start that healing journey. RUclips been another hobby gotten into to try to create content to distract my brain from stuff. 🌹

@TheCozyKayeHaven Yeah right now though all the stuff that did make me feel that way, have to pack up temporarily or least that's what my therapist suggested until fully healed from the situation anything that make me think of what happened last year. Though realize leaves my place more bare sadly and I still trying to figure out stuff eventually to have hung on the wall. Though right now anything that reminds me of Universal Studios in anyway my therapist thinks it best to put away out of sight in boxes until healed. Which means as much as love the Halloween sign of Michael Myers in my kitchen and the Chucky popcorn buckets on display lot of that has to be put up. But I love how much room you have in your place to decorate. Mine is so small so kind of limited what I could do anyways. Thanks I love horror season the most. So my place is always decorated for that. Actually first year decorating for Valentines Day, but making it Valloween and have Chucky holding a Be Mine Valentine heart as well as a little ghost with a My Sugar Boo sign got from walmart

We have made many 1000 piece puzzles (my choice of size) and can tell you an area of about 3.5' x 3.5' will allow you to lay out all the pieces. I find making a puzzle very relaxing and helps keep my mind sharper. You will know if it is for you when it gets to be like the book you're reading that you just can't put down. Hope you find that the case for you. 🌹
The HL Chicken Wire Shelf is the best I have seen on YT! Everyone else junks them up with smalls and you actually made it the very best I have seen with the canisters! Love it, please don't get rid of it!!! OMG. Does your valentines tree - stay up year round?! It is the most perfect size and I like the soft glow... Inspired now that all the trees are packed away. I decorate my home however I like, I don’t follow any trends. I wish I had space above my kitchen cabinets. I would decorate for every season/ holiday. Need to get yourself a puzzle roll up mat. That way you can move it whenever you need to and it keeps it safe. Diamond painting is pretty fun. It’s like paint by numbers but with gems/crystals.

The HL Chicken Wire Shelf is the best I have seen on YT! Everyone else junks them up with smalls and you actually made it the very best I have seen with the canisters! Love it, please don't get rid of it!!! OMG. Does your valentines tree - stay up year round?! It is the most perfect size and I like the soft glow... Inspired now that all the trees are packed away. I really like your ideas to help relax with day to day stresses and find a passion! I am going to make an effort to do this. Thank you so much for sharing this video!🌹

Well now I feel better leaving it as is ☺️ this is my first year decorating a tree for Valentine’s Day and it did come out super cute! I would love to try a St Patrick’s day and Easter tree! I decorate my home however I like, I don’t follow any trends. I wish I had space above my kitchen cabinets. I would decorate for every season/ holiday.
Need to get yourself a puzzle roll up mat. That way you can move it whenever you need to and it keeps it safe.
Diamond painting is pretty fun. It’s like paint by numbers but with gems/crystals.

Happy new year.painting or coloring is very relaxing. I love to decorate on top of my cabinets but my space is very short so I usually put flowers. My daughter does legos for relaxing. She is a banker and it gets very stressful. Also I want to mention that you are so right about decorating your home. Media should be inspirational not to copy cat. Your home your rules.I enjoyed how you did the displays. Also, maybe you can use the hobby lobby shelf to set your coffee table bar items that fit in it. Anyway, thanks for share. Love it😢❤
