As far as I know, Working Holiday Visas for Germany are only available for citizens of Australia, Brazil, Chile, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, and Taiwan. If I interpret your question correctly: In every larger city and also in many smaller ones you can find contact points, meeting places, pubs etc. for 🏳🌈 The peak season for pride parades and street festivals is June and July. You can manage with English, but then you are no more than a guest. If you want to immerse yourself in everyday life, you should try to learn the local language - as in any other country.

Great question, Bravo! We always think that it's helpful to know at least some basic words in the country's language. For Germany specifically, it would definitely be helpful if you're travelling to smaller places. You can get away with English in the larger tourist centres like Munich or Berlin... but tossing in a "danke" or a "hallo" will win you a few brownie points. :)

If you want to see the coast, head north for Schleswig-Holstein or Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. If you want the mountains, head for Bavaria in the south. The regions/states in the middle also have a number of beautiful rivers and cities to visit so you cannot rule them out, either!
