What an absolutely INCREDIBLE premiere episode to Steins;Gate 0! Prior to starting with this second show, I was unsure if starting another journey wouldn't feel like overkill after the first show perfectly rounded off its storyline. After watching this however, I'm already completely on board. I love how we get to see Okarin struggling so much to deal with Makise Kurisu's death in the initial world line, as well as some more glimpses at the year 2036 and what it is that actually occured. We're already on episode 17 over on www.Patreon.com/Robinoyo, so you can watch my reactions to the next 16 episodes over there straight away! Thanks for watching :)
I love how they took the same research and technology that Kurisu invented, and are using it for something totally different. It's fascinating how breakthroughs in science can be applied to totally unrelated results in multiple ways. This series also kind of proves that no matter what timeline Okarin is in, Kurisu follows him, even when she's dead.
The difference in what the science researchers are doing with her work compared to what she did in the Alpha world line are not all that different. She still created a form of artificial intelligence when she made the time leap machine, just applying her AI research to work in conjunction with the phone-wave. Theoretically sending someone's memories to the past isn't as simple as just taking them out of the person's head. It'd be more like creating an artificial duplicate of said person's memory/consciousness, otherwise Okabe would've dropped dead or become amnesiac in the world lines that he leaves behind. The same thing applies to creating a fully fledged AI that is based on a humans memories, you need to scan your brain and copy it. The time leap machine did exactly that, besides it's time machine functions.
@@hangry3102 I mean technically, you're basically implanting an AI into a human brain instead of a computer. So it works the same either way. But yeah, I knew all that.
About the S;G0 visual novel, while it's true that the anime is different, it incorporates a few major story beats from the VN in completely different contexts, which I thought was interesting. Also, the best parts of the anime took certain scenes that were pretty short and underwhelming in the VN and made them a lot better. Plus the VN doesn't really have a satisfying ending. I'm pretty sure making the anime was the plan all along.
Not sure if anybody has mentioned it but have you seen the Steins Gate movie ( Fuka Ryōiki no Déjà vu)? I feel like it could/should be watched before this season.
I love how right away you can tell just how much Ruka and Ferris are in love with Okabe. They are SO MAD that he was going on dates without them. lol This series, if anything, proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are completely in love with him.
17:20 See...statements like that show a total deviance of what the story of 0 is, ince someone watches all of season 1 first. I just don't get why I haven't seen a single reacter watch chronologically. Still a damn fine anime, but, I'm eternally happy I went the beta route.

exactly it just doesn't hit hard in the end as they already know the outcome
SG0 is midquel
Steins;Gate 0 shouldn't exist !!
