Spier's book The Education of a Value Investor was really formative for me as it was the first book on investing I'd encountered that was more a philosophy for life than a particular strategy for generating returns. His approach to markets is really refreshing compared to many other notable mangers. It's like his primary motivations are to study underlying principles and mechanics of life, whereas outsized returns are just a potential nice side effect of doing so. I was lucky enough to meet him and Mohnish at Omaha this year. I'm really happy to see him on After Hours.
Thanks for letting Guy ramble. His head is in the clouds which is great because that’s where a lot of cool shit is and he’s got some humility about it. Now get Mohnish on !
Want an investment idea? One of the best performing stocks ever (way better than Berkshire or Teledyne): Altria (formerly Philip Morris). There's no business like nicotine. Excluding, of course, the rating agencies.
Guy had a strike of luck investing in that famous dinner w WBuffet. The rest has been rambling, narratives and little performance. But if stupid people like to pay high commissions / waste time hearing a guy rambling the be my guest.
Guy is a fantastic dude, love listening to him about investing, but.... these guys lose me when they start talking about evolution etc, I'm a Christian, God made us... we adapt for sure but we were never apes. Thanks for the video, love the channel! God bless!

Fantastic always to hear from Guy
Great stuff! Guy is the podcast consultant the guys didn't know they needed. He seems like the ultimate connector.
Good podcast Gents
How have aquamarines returns been vs value indexes or ETFs?
There's a fine line between broad-mindedness and rambly bs'ing.
Hope Guy can return at least once a year!
